Updates Windows Bad

Windows sent me an update that freezes windows exployer in about 1/2 hour of use.   This is the third time, they sent me a bad update.   The worst one was a virus which covered an update, it prevented me from getting access to the Internet. they never check an update to see if it is worse than the problem of th that we're trying to heal?  Don't they have a virus check on updates before you send it then or a block of virs to prevent infecting someone cmputer?

Microsoft has * never * sent a virus, or with an update or
by itself.

One of the three things that happened:

1. what you thought, it was a virus was not actually a virus

2. what you thought came from Microsoft actually came from somewhere
on the other

3. you have received a virus and you have received an update from Microsoft, but they
had nothing to do with each other and happened to your computer
separately.

One other question (and point) for you: you say "sent from Microsoft.
me an update. "Was it an email, or entered as part of the normal
update the procedure? If he came as an e-mail, he is certainly not come
Microsoft. Microsoft never sends updates (or anything else) to
you by e-mail. Almost certainly, something like this was a malware
infection that came from someone other than Microsoft.

Hello, I am writing because I have a few problems with my favorite browser after update to 8.1 Windows. Here are some details. I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on sites with lots of images like Facebook. It's as if there is some sort of effect of Flikr between the office and the images, as well as between the images and the browser (a bit like old flikering of 16-bit video games). It's not too bad, but it's a question. I tried to reset firefox and restart the computer. I have not tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall.

    Hello

Today, I noticed that, update Windows Vista displays the bad update for one of the drivers of Qosmio F30.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit, but Windows Update post a 64 bit version of the driver.

    See the screenshot [here: http://imagefilehost.googlepages.com/f30Wrongupdate.jpg]

    Any idea?

    Hmm... it's strange?  :|

The ACPI from Toshiba x 64 compatible driver certainly means a 64-bit version!

I put t know why Vista driver update notification indicates a 64-bit to a 32 bit OS driver, but usually the 64-bit driver should not be compatible with the 32 bit OS.

However, the deal seems clear don t install if the pilot is not designed for your operating system.

I can't update "windows" or "windows defender". Followed the steps described by Microsoft help, tried to download manually, have asked Microsoft to help (no response yet) these first two things didn't work. I even had something like; change setting.that message security came for "Windows update", I have change the security setting, did not just well, still nothing.
    Windows Defender gives me an error code that looks like this;
    Error Code 0 x 80070005
That's all I can get, and it will not update.
and on top of it, I've lost my "Microsoft Help and support (it) when I click Start and click Help and support, I get a (?) all help options or when I click on it nothing there is totally 'empty '.
    I have one more problem.
I tried to defrag my computer, and I can't do it either. I get a grey screen and if I click on anylise or defragment, it does nothing, no error message or anything else. Tried to manually defragment Traore does not work, tried to load a defrag on the web program, wouldn't let me load it.

    Hello shessy49, welcome.

I would recommend that we run a SFC (System File Checker) first scan to see what he finds. Try this:

    1. click on START
2 type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter
    3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries displayed
    4. click on 'Apply' at the bottom right
    5 restart your computer

    ---
    After the reboot
    ---

    1. click on START
    2. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.
    3. type "sfc/scannow" (without the quotes) and press enter

If the question started very recently, you can try a system restore:

    1. click on START
    2. click on "all programs".
    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."
    5. click on "system restore."

6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.

  • Windows is disabled and can now update windows

Updated Windows on 16/04/12.  Now, however, it will not update and I noticed that my system is saying that 'this copy of windows is not activated. " It will not reactivate and gives the error code 0 x 80070426.  Have this Acer laptop since 2008!   In addition, the system startup, I get a message saying that the Microsoft Software Licensing Service has stopped working and was closed ".  I had Norton running well before the problem.  Run the Microsoft fix - it tool and suggested that the location where Windows Update stores data has changed and it needs to be repaired.   Any ideas how to re - activate Windows?

Not good news - save data on external media NOW!

Even a bad sector on a hard disk is an indicator that it is probably on the brink of death.

If you have a number, hten he won't get serious and probably faster.

Make sure you have a set of recovery discs for your machine and reinstall the OS on it, then retrieve your data to the new disk.

There is no point in trying to put a band-aid on a torn artery, trying to fix the activation on the current installation. It will fail only again.

  • Firefox runs very slowly after updating Windows 10

Saturday, December 12, 10 Windows spent an age of update itself, with several reboots. Since then, the navigation is horribly slow with Firefox, although my internet connection is always very well (fast my Smartphone using Microsoft Edge). I have two PCs, and both seem to have been affected in the same way. Using the Task Manager, I see that Firefox uses a lot of CPU most of the time - often more than 50%. Even typing and scrolling are very slow, not just downloading.
I disabled all my add-ins and plug-ins, run in safe mode, rebooted and reinstalled Firefox without result. So far, I'd say that Firefox is the fastest browser. I think that Firefox updated itself 42.0 version a few days, so I have a suspect that this slowdown has occurred just after a Windows Update.

Update: Windows update itself again today and, like magic, Firefox is again well. So problem solved.

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

  • Can I update windows 10 on Sprout?

If I update windows 10, can I also use sprout function? (Scan, projector, sprout apps, etc.).
    No probpem?

I agree with ray1204 on this: HP must assess and update or do say us that it is impossible.

I have not run Windows 10 on Sprout; However, I've been running on a laptop, and I've done it since the Insider program began.  I'm now up to build 10130.  I would not risk running Windows 10 on Sprout, so if someone else did, I'm interested.

Windows 10 previews in stability and utilization have improved, but the user interface is different in Windows 8.  Windows 8 has a desk and a splash screen that seem quite distinct.  Windows 10 looks like a desktop and applications, the functions file, etc. appear on a screen separated when you click on the Windows button.  Which is kinda the same, but now modern applications and heritage applications all play together.  The store and the browser are new and very different, etc.

Shoot, we all discovered, is his own strange beast.  The use of the desktop screen and start with the germination environment is quite strange.  Manual of the developer makes more mysterious, in my opinion.

I think that HP has got to do some work on Windows 10 and probably change Sprout.  Which may not happen until the release of the "final" Windows 10.

    Patience is my suggestion.

  • After the last update Windows 10 - Z30 Satellite screen problem - has

    Hello

After updating Windows 10 (threshold/1115) one of our Z30 - A sometimes wakes up after hibernation with the screen off. The only solution is to turn it off by holding the power and then turning it back on, button which is obviously annoying because open files may be lost or corrupted. The other Z30 - A that you don't show the behavior of sound.

Someone at - it ideas? I would really appreciate the pointers.

    Thank you very much!

    Kind regards!

    Sounds like a driver problem.

go to control panel and uninstall different drivers (sound, display, wireless, etc.), then let Windows update install the latest versions.

  • Firefox beta 9, coming continuous update window, click on update, but it nevers connects to the server, the link 'click here for more information' is dead.

I go about Firefox and click on the updates button control the browser downloads the update, I restart Firefox and behind the browser window is a window that says: it is strongly recommended that update Firefox. It is also a link to get more information about this update. The link is not responding, so I click on 'Next' and connect to the server and it never connects. I let it run all night and it connects. I get this window even after that I updated to Firefox. How can I do that, go away? Is this a legitimate Update window or something try to redirect to a malicious site?

In fact, the window just jumped upward once again, as I was typing this message.

If there are problems with the implementation at day then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to remove all remaining files.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible and delete the folder of Firefox beta program to remove all remaining files.

    • Do NOT remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Satellite P10-304 - update Windows 7 problem

I have a Satellite P10 304 to 2003 which has Windows XP, but I need to update for obvious reasons. I bought a copy of Windows 7 (32 bit) and installed without any installation problem, however I can't update Windows.

I reinstalled, deleted the hard drive and reinstalled again. Tried the stop and start the Windows Update utility.
    Downloaded the stand-alone Windows Update.

Updated the BIOS to V2.0 and downloaded the Toshiba Service Station application (who says no update is necessary).
    All this without success.

My hopes were raised when I saw that the Station Service for Windows 7 32 bit software was available for the P10 304 but I am now at a loss.

Anyone know if this laptop can be upgraded to Windows 7 and how to get updates of work?

    Help is welcome.

    Peter

I'm sure that installation of Windows 7 update problems are not specific to Toshiba problems even if you use the Toshiba laptop.

From my point of few, you should check the Microsoft support pages to find the solution.
    For example this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=Windows-7

Just a tip: I had some problems in the past to install updates because of the antirust software. He locked the installation of some essential updates and after you disable temporal, updates could be installed...
Missing Service Packs might concern the single installation of patches.

This file is part of the installation of Mozilla. Try to download the full installation file from http://www.mozilla.com/ and install it on top of your current installation. Reinstall Firefox does not remove your user data.

  • How to replace "apply downloaded update now" with "Check for Updates" in the menu help when the update fails because the downloaded update files are missing but the "Ready to install update" window keeps appearing?

    Question

I have another type of problem with Firefox

    Description

Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?

    Version of Firefox

You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).

If it does not, see our KB article How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message - the section of 'last resort' can be useful, or or read this article from MozillaZine KB, software update.

Please let us know how the above work, and if we can be of further assistance.
