Upgrade CPU on HP Pavilion dv6z - 6 c 00 Quad Edition

If I have this laptop and the CPU (or APU) is AMD A6 - 3420M, and I have Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition. I'm looking to upgrade the processor to a preference to-8. My first question is, are the ONLY processors that I can upgrade my laptop with those indicated on the interview guide & Service? because I could not find one of these three A-8 processors for sale anywhere, and I feel that the guide might be outdated or something. And if the answer to the first question is no, so I am limited to what CPU I can put in this laptop or is it possible to AMD family?

Here is the guide of Maintenance and maintenance - http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03099531.pdf

Thank you in advance & I appreciate your replys

Here is a list of processors AMD accelerated A8 . According to the HP "Maintanance and Service of Guide" for your computer, the following processors when included in some models;

Processor 2.70 GHz AMD® A8-3550MX (2.00 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, quad core, 45 W)

AMD A8 - 3530MX 2.60 GHz processor, (1.90 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, quad core, 45 W)

AMD A8 - 3520 M 1.60 GHz processor (2.50 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, quad core, 35 W)

AMD A6 - 3430MX 2.40 GHz processor (1.70 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, quad core, 45 W)

AMD A6 - 3420 M 2.40 GHz processor (1.50 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, quad core, 45 W)

A4-3330MX 2.60 GHz AMD processor (2.40 GHz FSB, 2: 0 - MB L2 cache, dual core, 45 W)

A4-3320MX 2.60 GHz AMD processor (2.00 GHz FSB, 2: 0 - MB L2 cache, dual core, 45 W)

AMD A4 - 3305 M 2.50 GHz CPU (1.90 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, dual core, 45 W)

AMD E2 - 3000 M 2.40 GHz processor (1.80 GHz FSB, 4, 0 - MB L2 cache, dual core, 35 W)

The AMD-A8-3510MX project fits into all the processors above and should work without problems on your computer.

The FM1 and FS1 have pin very different counts. I don't think you can use a FM1 in your computer based on the number of pins and the higher power, that use processors FM1.

    Nate, welcome to the forum.

Yet immediately when Windows 10 signing after upgrade, the laptop display has been viewed quickly.

  • Upgrading CPU for HP Pavilion dv9730nr notebook Entertainment

I'm looking for the best/most fast Intel processor to upgrade a HP Pavilion dv9730 Entertainment notebook. The motherboard is a Quanta 30CB. Aware of the processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz. I am trying to upgrade this laptop for my grandson to play some of the new games of intense action. I looked at different forums, but most of them is at least two years. I also watched the service for laptops manual series dv9700. The top page in their list processor is the Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4 GHz. Since most of these lists are old, I want to know if there are faster processors that are compatible with the laptop and a motherboard safely.

Only, you are sure to install a processor originally proposed by HP on this range of laptops. As noted above, it is not really a mother Quanta is a motherboard HP, full owner. There is also no way to improve the system without radical changes in case of cooling and engineering tips; the only CPU cooler is the original factory unit unless you do another and even in this case, the tight fit limits what you can really do. The fsb and the power must remain the same, as well.

  • Pavilion dv7 - 4050ev: upgrade CPU on HP Pavilion dv7 4050 ev

I want to improve my laptop CPU. The manual says that my laptop can handle a CPU Intel Core i7 840QM. By doing a little research on my own, I discovered that my current CPU is PGA988. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I need to find a processor that is taken of PGA988, or it does not.

It is true that some processors, like 840QM, came with several taken?

I will have problems with high temperatures?

Is there a difference? (In most games)

Is there something else (not to mention that the socket) that I should consider in terms of compatibility?

    Thanks in advance
    Tassos.

I7-840QM is the top processor of the page, that you can use. I think that all i7-840QMs use the PGA988 outlet, so you can use a processor purchased from one source other than HP.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/43125/Intel-Core-I7-840QM-processor-8M-cache-1_86-GHz

The price of this processor is always up there a little:

The linked above processor is compatible and runs on your laptop.

The dv7 line has always been prone to problems of heat and the first series of Intel Core gen run particularly hot so when you install it remember to use good thermal paste, clean the fan blades and otherwise use best practices. If you need help let us know.

Don't expect a CPU upgrade only to make the game a lot better. It is especially dependent on the video chip you have. You have the HD 5650 video that is as good as it gets for this series model. He was very good at the time but is now a little long in the tooth. I expect a very small increase, but a negligible small in the time control of the upgrade of i3 to i7. For the rest, the upgrade will be quite noticeable. You could get even more general improvement, installation of an SSD. You also want to upgrade to the max 8 GB of RAM, of course.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you cannot use the Core i5 - 2540M. You must use the processor Core i5 - 480 M. Some laptops series G6 such as ones of G6-1200 use chips from the second generation, so the manual you have is a general for all laptops to G6. The first generation Intel processors use a different socket than the second. A possible compatibility for Intel processors is when you have an Ivy Bridge chipset third generation) and you can use a Sandy Bridge CPU (2nd generation)...

  • Pavilion dv6t - 6 c 00 Quad Edition AMD CTO chart question

Good evening everyone, I have an issue with my laptop & I hope I can get help to get it resolved.

I have a Pavillion dv6, and he had the Intel (R) Graphics, & an AMD family who does not appear in Device Manager more.

The question that happened after I updated the Intel & AMD graphics driver, I updated the family of AMD & Intel Intel HD graphics 3000 to 7460 I think.

After that graph switchable option disappeared, the AMD graphics card did not show in Device Manager & now, it only shows the family of Intel graphics. I did the system restore, which tried factory reset my laptop, but I think I did enough damage.

I think that I should not have had updated the graphics driver, but I did and which continues today, any help will be appreciated.

Then, it just says: upgrade recommended on the graphic video card drivers or.

Thank you thank you very much your help & answers, I appreciate it.

The best way to update all of your drivers is to use the HP Support Assistant application.  It will scan your system and install missing drivers or updates.  You also need to install the HP Software Framework.  Here is a link to HP Support Assistant.

I hope this helps.  Have a great day!

  • Processor and graphics upgrade for notebook Pavilion DV6Z?

Hello, my name is Charles and I am looking to upgrade my laptop Hp Pavilion DV6Z. I know that it is a older laptop, but recently I bought Diablo 3 and I want to be able to run it on here. This computer has 3 GB of Ram and had a new hardrive put in pretty recently. In this computer I have:

    HP Motherboard 30F2

    Processor AMD Athlon X 2 Dual-Core QL-60

Graphics AMD Radeon HD 3200 card.

and the minimum requirements for Diablo III are:

    -Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X 2 4400 + processor

-NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT or ATI Radeon X 1950 Pro or higher.

Preferably, I would like to be able to run the game on average or better settings. Is it useful to upgrade this laptop even though it is a little older? Thanks for any advice.

    Hi, Charles:

I can't find the right to repair your laptop passes only dv6z.

This is the closest I could find.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01744837.PDF

Basically, a complete motherboard Exchange should update the video.

The processor can probably be updated to one of those listed in Chapter 1.

The costs attendant when you run an upgrade card mother processor and swap, in my opinion, would exceed the cost of buying a new computer laptop with what you want in it, if you were to your trade (some stores offer up to $200 for the times) or sell it.

  • Pavilion dv6t-6100 Quad Edition (2nd generation) CPU upgrade

I have pavilion dv6t-6100 Quad Edition laptop with one of the 2nd gen i7 processors. What type of upgrades to the graphics card and CPU can I do?

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.  Intel processors supported are listed in Chapter 1, page 2.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842252.PDF

Graph cannot be upgraded, except if the card mother set is replaced.  Support Intel motherboards with various graphics solutions are in Chapter 3, beginning on page 27.  You must also pay special attention to the fact that the jury is for a processor dual core or quad.

I would also add that the financial costs and monitoring of personal work to exchange the motherboard and the processor upgrade, would exceed the cost of buying another laptop with the processor and graphics card solution you're looking for, following the sale or your trade.

HP Pavilion dv6z-1100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

I was in the middle of an update and I think the power cord of the computer has been deleted. When it restarted, the headlights light up, the fan turns on, but the screen remains blank. I tried a hard reset. I took the memory card and reset in the slot. The flashing of LED code is 1, which indicates a problem with the CPU. I tried to start up and holding F8 or F10 but nothing happens. I also managed to lose my restore disk (if I had one). Can I have same reformt with a CPU error? What am I doing here?

    Thank you

    Paige

The description you give sounds as if you were in the middle of an update of the BIOS.

One of the strongest warning we give to members is forever off power when in the process of updating the BIOS.

The reason is that a member who fails to Apay attention to warning learns they did a laptop cheap a lovely electronic device, plastic with the utility of the brick.  That's why's called it "bricking" your laptop.

If this is the case, you will need to have the card system maintained by HP or a specialized repair company BIOS.

Is your laptop still under warranty?

If you see an error like this then you will not be able to do anything with the laptop until the corrupted BIOS file is resolved. So the answer to your question is no.

  • Pavilion DV7 Upgrade CPU

I have a PC entertainment DV7 Dv7 (2273cl). Recently, I had to change the motherboard and learned how to make so that I might also be able to upgrade the processor. Looking in the maintenance manual, authorized processors include a CPU that I bought on Ebay (Q9100). The Q9100 both my original T6600 CPU are all two registered in the maintenance manual, so I think the Q9100 would work in my computer.

I installed the new processor and it fit perfectly. But once I had everything back together, the computer would start up, but I would get blink codes by the capslock and above the number pad of a single wink separated by 3 seconds, which, looking around, seems to be that the CPU does not code.

So is there a way to get this CPU to work? It's a quad core vs a dual core. Do I need to Flash the bios to a higher version prior to make it work? Startup will not go far enough to bring me to any type of screen or anything that would allow me to get this working.

Of course, I'd like to upgrade one dual core to a quad core.

Any help would be most appreciated. When I went back to my old processor, I couldn't start the computer and had to take it apart and put it all together again to make it work, so I don't want to tinker around too much in the computer, I do not have a route safe to go ahead with.

    Thank you

    Jon Fernandez

In addition, I have discovered how to find my current BIOS version which is the following:

    F.46 25/08/2011

    Thank you

If this is the case I would avoid upgrading CPU completely... too much chance of bricking it.

I would like to know if there are all the most advanced processors that are compatible as any Intel Quad Core or Intel Core Extreme processor, thank you.

More information: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family.

T7700 or T7800 T9500 is the best, is best bang for buck in used cpu market.

mixture of the above with SSD (for example, V300) & second storage conducted if needed in a caddy optical bay more max ram for your OS version would create a fast machine.
