  • Dell Latitude E5520 - upgrade Seven 32-bit SP1 to Seven 64 bit SP1

    Hello world

I bought a Dell Latitude E5520 in 2011 with a system of operating windows 7 32 bit french. I have 8 GB of RAM so I would like to upgrade my version of the OS a 32-bit to a 64-bit SP1 seven. My laptop (CPU, ram) is compatible with the 64-bit version. I have the 32-bit original key and dell DVD included in my purchase of the license. I do not have seven french operating system 64-bit DVD and I would like to buy one to upgrade my laptop...

Is it necessary for me to buy a new license key (for the 64-bit version) or my 32-bit license key will be functional on this version of 64-bit DVD?

    Thanxs for all.

Dell will not sell you a 64-bit Windows 7 disc usually, they support only the original operating system so if you asked media you would probably get media 32 Bit.

However, your license is valid for both.

You can use the ABR program to back up the activation of your Dell OEM SLP Factory:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/Microsoft-product-activation/the-activation-backup-and-recovery-program-Windows-Vista-7-version/

Probably the same files that I saved the work for the French version but you can save your own in case where.

You can then use an .iso of Digital River French Windows 7 to the same version of your COSTS:

Install without a product key and after the installation, allows to restore Dell Factory ABR SLP OEM activation. See to install clean windows for more details:

  • Can't turn on WIRELESS on a Dell Latitude E5520

I am working on a Dell Latitude E5520.  The laptop is running Windows 7 Professional.  It has an installed Dell DW1530 Wi - FI card.  The WI - FI card is disabled.  Whenever I try to activate the card, it goes through all the activation of the card queries, but when it's over the map is always disabled and grayed out.  With this laptop, fitness and starting over is not an option. I have seen this problem mentioned earlier in this forum, but none of the fixes offered work.

What I've tried so far.  Troubleshooting everything has been done with full privileges, with domain administrator and local administrator accounts. The first thing I tried was to uninstall the antivirus software and firewall.  I left this software on the laptop computer for troubleshooting all.  I tried to uninstall the drivers for the card.  I downloaded the latest drivers and reinstalled the drivers.  Unsuccessful. I repeated it in safemode, logged on as a local administrator.  Unsuccessful.

I have a similar laptop on-site with a similar wireless card that works.  I installed this card and repeat the steps above.  Unsuccessful.  I have re-installed the original WI - FI card.

I have a USB WIFI card that I know works with Windows 7.  I tried this USB WI - FI card.  Unsuccessful.

Given that 3 types of WI - FI cards do not work, it tells me that it is a problem of Microsoft because all cards WI - FI 3 act exactly the same way.  As usual, Microsoft support site is a great help.

A possible clue.  The connection is named 'Wireless Network Connection 3'.  When I tried to rename the connection to "Wireless network connection", it was rejected saying that this name is already used.  There is no "Wireless Network Connection" not listed, only 'Wireless Network Connection 3 ".  I intend to look in the registry for this hidden connection.

    Any suggestions?

I found how to fix this problem, finally.  I used the original Windows 7 installation DVD and made an upgrade in Place.  The Microsoft Article ID: 2255099.  It worked. I was able to save the operating system and all programs and personal files.   I wish that I never thought that earlier.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to help.

  • Dell Latitude D620 processor update...

Hi all, great forum you have here...

I have an old Dell Latitude D620 and I want to upgrade the processor.  The specifications are the following:

    • Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66 GHz) CPU
    • 2 GB RAM DDR2-800
    • 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD
    • Windows 7 Professional

Am I correct in thinking that I can go to any processor 667 Mhz FSB?  SO what would be the fastest processor I can get (I think Core 2 Duo 7400 and 7600)?

Looking at the Intel 845 chipset GM compatible products (http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/22816) that they do, but I thought I'd better check here first before buying.  Change from 2 MB to 4 MB L2 cache would affect something?

    Thank you very much!

    Gareth

Either people will work - just do not pay too much on the one hand, because the speed boost will be progressive - not dramatic.

  • Dell latitude E6440 processor update

Hi, I recently bought a Dell latitude E6440 with a processor Core I5 4300 M opportunity and I would like to put a Core I7 4910MQ in it and it would work? and if this system can he manage? Or I'd better put an I7 4610 m inside.

The i7 - 4610 m was delivered in this model, so it will work.  The quad core CPU (4910mq) probably won't - and even if they allow the system starts, the 10W greater power consumption can you net a very unstable system, because it is not designed for a CPU 47W.  MQ processors are usually shipped in large, 15 and 17 "system - not thin and light systems as your Latitude of game.

    (1) if I use the built-in driver to Win 10 ("high definition Audio Device") I hear speakers/headphones and switching between the speakers and the works of helmet very well but my laptop computer microphone does not work ("not connected").

    (2) if I use the latest Dell driver (IDT 92HDxxx HD Audio Driver) I hear initially via speakers, but as soon as I plug in headphones I can't switch back to the speakers (i.e. switching between the speakers and the headphones does not work) and my laptop computer microphone works.

AS OEM Dell is responsible for the good operation of the equipment both
and Windows. Check their documentation online with Dell Support, and
drivers and ask questions in the forums about known problems. Make sure that you are
Run the latest version of the BIOS, chipset and drivers.

I understand that the Latitude E5520 does not appear on the Dell "Computers tested for upgrade to Windows 10" list... However I was hoping maybe Dell could find in the goodness of their hearts to a updated driver IDT 92HDxxx... pretty please?

    Thank you

Hi, John. It's quite nervous of a member of the MS forum say that Dell is responsible to operate Windows. It wasn't Dell but MS who claims that Win10 has most of the necessary drivers and if not then the drivers Win7 and Win8.1 would work.

I doubt that it is possible for two reasons. Dell went from IDT Realtek as the audio seller so probably not more a a contract with IDT, if IDT even exist anymore. A year ago IDT was acquired by another company. I do not know its current status, but it is sure that the acquiring company will not be upgrading old software IDT. Reference Dell itself does not write the audio drivers. Even when IDT was the seller I believe that Win7 drivers are the final versions - no version 8 or 8.1 I think.

The native Windows audio driver can't stand struggling external mic. It is a MS 'known problem '. MS must implement a decision-making support, but there is no indication that it will be. Meanwhile, you have two workaround solutions. You can switch backwards between the natives and the IDT drivers. At some point Win10 could leave the IDT driver works correctly. Or get an outlet cheap usb audio to the microphone. Struggling running out-audio driver usb Windows native usb and so dependent no driver IDT.

  • Latitude e5520 system reset

I'm doing a simple factory reset on a dell latitude e5520.

    I rebooted,

    Press f8

    Choose fix my computer

    Choose a language

    logged as administrator

and in Manager recovery and recovery system tools click on save.

This is where everything goes south.  the cursor flashes at me and then turns then stops with absolutely no results.  don't know what to do after this point except scream like crazy and start hitting with a hammer, but really, I just want to be able to do a simple restore to the original state, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi smcg13,

Applying Dell backup and recovery seems to be corrupted. I advise you to reinstall the Dell backup application and system restore using the link below and check if you are able to restore the system.

  • Latitude E7450 processor and controller I can resize using the touchpad

Hi all new here so I hope that I write this in the right section.

I am the proud owner of a Dell Latitude E7450 processor and controller. It's pretty awesome compared to my old Toshiba.

One thing I was wondering, is it possible to resize using the touchpad as I used with my old laptop? I can use the touchscreen, but prefer not to if possible.

When I opened the "Dell touchpad" pointing devices, it has settings for a mouse, which I suppose is the touchpad. In the tab "pointer of the" there are pointers for horizontal, vertical and diagonal resizing, so thought it was possible. But if I still worked not how.

    Thank you

    Hello

SOLVED! I've updated the BIOS and a chipset driver and all of a sudden I can use gestures on the touchpad. Also noticed a keyboard option and the touchpad appeared in "Dell Toucpad" program.

Don't know what update has been charged, but happy!

MY DELL LATITUDE D610 HOW CAN I UPGRADE TO THE NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS? NOW IT IS WINDOWS 7, WHAT VERSION IS SUPPORT FOR USE WELL ON MY DEVICE? PLEASE HELP ME

Read this: upgrade Windows 10 Dell Latitude D610

Take a look at my answer, complete instructions.

Basically speaking, Dell officially supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610 (and other models of Dx10).

However it can really run Windows Vista and 7 at least, as long as you max out the RAM (2 GB, 2 x 1 GB, can be purchased at a great price in eBay) and install the drivers, in particular graphics drivers, look in Device Manager and see what drivers are needed manually.

If you're lucky to have a D610 with ATi graphics card then you can even run Windows 8 and 10 with all drivers available, and I can tell you that it won't be slow dog not unlike a lot of people say, I don't have something similar (a HP Compaq nx8220) in common use. Keep as lean as possible (not bloatwares, anti-virus etc.) system, and it will serve you well.

  • Dell Latitude D820 RAM 1 GB upgrade to 2 GB problems

Hi, if anyone can help or knows of a quick solution to this it would be very useful.

I recently ordered 2 x 1 GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667 Modules of logical Orca for a Dell Latitude D820. Memory is spec'd by them as being what is needed for this specific upgrade. My Latitude is running Vista Business.

I replaced the 2 x 512 MB with the new memory modules and turned on the computer. Initially, I get three lights next to the power button, two of which are in the red. Then the computer shuts down. Then, after a few trys, I get up a boot but the computer complains that memory has changed, and then continues in windows. At this point, things get a bit wobbly. Some apps crash and I have corrupted registry errors.

So I put the old mem in and all is well. I then exchange the modules into the slot in the bottom and it seems not to work while the other is fine. Later, everything now run with an old module and a new 1 GB 1.5 GB, the computer begins to complain again. So now, I seem to have two modules that don't work. Update the BIOS to version 9. Still no luck.

Beyond specing DDR2 PC2-5300 when you order the memory is there anything else I should consider? Does anyone know if this is common? Orca wanted modules to test so I went back to them but they say if they are ok then I'll receive a replacement pack identical to before - potentially giving me the same result.

If someone could offer some advice that would be great.

    Thank you

    Andy

  • Dell Latitude: Scan with Windows 10

I have a HP Deskjet 3520.  in a moment of pure, pure madness, I've upgraded to Windows 10.  Now my printer won't scan to my computer in pdf format.

If I try to scan to PDF it is right there with a message "connecting to a computer" which remains for about 5 minutes, then he told me "the computer does not respond.  Check that the USB cable is attached or wireless works correctly and try again."  Yep, check it out and try to print of tp.  Yes, so the computer is obvioisly talk to the printer, try scanning in format PDF - not just the same message.

Previously, he fortunately scanned word copy paper in pdf documents but not now.  My computer is a Dell Latitude E5500, already served by Windows 7.  Now I don't know even how to find out what is my basic computer.  I don't know that Windows (Microsoft I guess) kept sending messages that my upgrade was ready and that if I install all my data and stuff would be ok.  Well, it's not ok.  I don't want to do something harmful - I just want to be able to scan documents to PDF, so I can send by e-mail.

    Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

You have installed the FULL features software for your printer?

If you haven't, here is the link for the download.

Once you have downloaded and installed the printer, you should be able to use the software of the printer to scan.

    Hope that helps.
