Upgrade for Satellite Pro 2100 parts

I need to get a wireless card and more memory for my computer. I can't find anywhere to contact on this Web site. Can anyone help?

I hope that you know very well that your laptop is about 5 years old and you must not be surprised if you don't find this oldie listed on the actual page of Toshiba. ;)

In any case, I found the information to follow:
-your laptop can handle with max 1 GB Ram and compatible module are PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25) and in PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)
-compatible Wireless LAN Card Kit is with the PA3212U-1MPC part number

If you need wireless network adapter to transfer data faster, you can use the USB or PCMCIA card.

    Hello

I want to upgrade the memory on my Satellite Pro 2100 and I found compatible parts on the Toshiba site but would like to ask how he would settle?

    Thank you.

    Hello

At the bottom of the unit, you should find a memory cache location. As far as I know it s placed in the middle.
Under this coverage, you should find two locations. A slot uses 256 MB module, and the second site should be free.

  • A new DVD burner for satellite pro 2100

Ive got a satellite pro 2100 and I want to change the recorder to a dvd burner. is there a template I can get which will be a swap of right for in-house or will I need an external dvd burner? Thank you.

    HI Jamie,

DVD writers usually come in two varieties, IDE usually designates those intended for 'slimline' and Office Tower systems which are generally mounted in laptops.

The physical form of the player is usually constant models (in this case Toshiba use different brands in their notebooks). The device will have various plastic components fittings attached to it which will need tro be transferred to your new unit and have threaded metal accessories which are used to secure the unit to the laptop. These must also be transferred to the new unit.

You also need device drivers dedicated to this new unit that can are provided on a CD or even be downloaded on the website of unit manufacturers.

  • What is a maximum size of HDD for Satellite Pro 2100?

I want to improve my aging Satellite Pro 2100 (PS210E-00C3G-GR) with a new hard drive. The BIOS supports more than 120 GB drives?
    Thanks in advance!

Hmm. 120 GB HARD DRIVE? I don t think so. But this is only my personal opinion.
To my knowledge, the Pro 2100 was equipped with 30 GB HARD drive.

I think that the 60GB is a realistic size and could be seen by the BIOS.

In any case, I didn't find any official Toshiba information support max sizes of HARD drive and I imagine that you must test the HARD drive.

  • SSD upgrade for Satellite Pro P200 (PSPB7A-01000J) - possible?

    Hello world

I had a Satellite Pro P200 for 3 years and more. It came with Vista Business pre-installed, but I have successfully installed Windows 7 a few months ago.

A few months ago, I replaced the C drive in my office with a Solid State Drive and now he sings - program start and loading of the system is much faster than before.

Now I'm wondering if the SSD upgrade even could be done to my trusty P200 and if yes, what brand/model of SSD could be better. It should be 128 GB or 256 GB maybe.

Anyone else been in this way? The results? Pitfalls?

    All responses appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Greg.

    Hello

I think that it should be possible.
You must use a SATA SSD drive since the laptop supports the SATA controller.
To be honest, I never tried to upgrade the laptop with a SSD but SSD is not very different from the HARD drive and normally should not be a problem.
In some cases, an update of the firmware of SSD may be necessary but usually these firmware updates should be available on the SSD drive manufacturer support page.

  • HDD upgrade for Satellite Pro M70

Is anyone know the upgrades available to change the standard 60GB hard drive in the Satellite Pro M70 (PSM76E-00100KEN) with something bigger.

The Toshiba Options site shows only optionally available external hard drives, but noticed that the newer models of the same family have between 80 and 100 GB discs, so I asked if any of these would correspond, for example:

    PSM75E-00P004EN uses a 100 GB drive
    PSM76E-00500KEN uses a 80 GB drive

You can also all drives available from other sources that might be suitable - what spec should I look, speed, installation size, connections etc. and BIOS compatibility

All the info appreciated, surprising how fast the disk fills up, and I would like to keep in-house, although I also use an external drive of 250 GB for home storage and backups etc.

    Thank you
    Steve

    Hello

The Satellite Pro M70 series is great, but I think that every m70 must support a HARD drive with serial - ATA interface.
Some units have been delivered with a 80 GB HARD drive. In my view, that a 100 GB HARD drive should also work.

I found a few properties of the HARD drive:
    Rotating disk: 5400 RPM
    Buffer size: 8 MB
    Number of discs: 2
    Number of Heads: 4

  • Need directions for disassembly for Satellite Pro 2100

I have a new CD player that I need to put in my SP2100. Someone at - it instructions on how I can remove the old and install a new one.

    Thank you very much.

    Tony

    Hello Tony

Disassembly procedure is quite complicated for this device, and you cannot delete ODD so simply. Before you can do this you must remove keyboard, metal plate under the keyboard and on the lid of the top of the entire page.

ODD is connected to the motherboard with a connector. When you are offline you must slide the drive on the right side.

I can't give you detailed step-by-step, because I have this phone here, but if you're not familiar with the procedure for disassembly please don t do this alone. It's that there are several screws and also plastic parts and cables that must be deleted at the right time.

You can find out WHAT BIOS BIOS download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp
Your old laptop is listed in the ARCHIVES.

Unfortunately, it is has updated BIOS to WIN only. This means that this update of the BIOS can be run in Windows XP Home edition only.

In any case, I downloaded version 1.40 on http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4KCW8O3N

  • Looking for old Satellite Pro 2100 does not not for spare parts

    Hello

I tried to replace my keyboard with a new (no problem, I could order it) on a Satellite Pro 2100.

Unfortunately the keyboard "cable" must be plugged into the motherboard using a little white girl 'thing' to keep the cable attached to the motherboard.

Unfortunately, I lost this small 'thing' white.

So I'm looking for an old Satellite Pro computer where I can take it to does not.

Or if somene has a better idea, please let me know at:

    Thx a lot

I think you mean the PJ11 connector.
This PJ11 is placed on the motherboard and the flat keyboard cable must be connected to this connector.
I m not 100% sure but I think the PJ11 is mounted on the Board and I wonder how someone can lose it.

If you need a look of old Sat Pro in eBay. You should find something

  • Satellite Pro 2100 - upgrade - upgrade memory RAM

    Hello together!

    For your information:

Upgrade memory today to 2 Toshiba Satellite Pro 2100 (1.9 GH, 256 MB DDR - RAM initially), both up to 1 GB, all fine and no problems.

Wanted to just end rumors "only 512 MB all together" or even less.

If you are looking for, don't forget to think of the specifications:

    DDR-266 (PC2100)
    DDR-SDRAM, SO-DIMM
    200 PINS
    2.5 CL

concerning the frequency of the RAM, building shape etc.

    Greetings

    L0nestar

P.S.: Don't think that a debate is necessary, thread could be closed...

According to the specifications of the computer laptop Satellite Pro has two memory slots and can be upgraded up to 1 GB. It is very useful to have confirmation on the RAM upgrade for this model of laptop old but still good.

    Good day.
