Windows vista home basic service pack1 and windows vista Home premium service Pack 2
I WANT TO UPDATE WINDOWS VISTA HOME BASIC, WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM TO MY NEW LAPTOP TO MY OLD LAPTOP. Can I update my laptop which has windows vista home basic service pack1 installed using my laptop which has windows vista Home premium service pack 2 by using a transfer program for example windows easy transfer? HOW CAN I DO THIS?
Hi ronnieVron,
Your copy of Windows is only allowed for 'a machine If you want to put Vista Edition home premium on your 'old laptop"you can buy a new copy of Vista premium. Another point is that copies of Windows was probably preinstalled on your laptop, which means that, putting license on one side, your copy is related to each specific laptop and so, because the copy is related to the material on each laptop, you would have problems on other transfer machine. Anyway you could invalidate your Windows license.

Hello
My personal opinion is that you buy a more recent machine as Vista Basic came on machines that have the material basis for it requirements.
Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.
There is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.
Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7.
Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Microsoft sells more than 8/8.1.
Try Amazon.com, etc.
Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.
If this is not available, Windows 8.1 not install and work properly for you.
There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:

Yes, it's possible and not only W2K3. You can also use any other operating systems such as W2K, XP, Linux...
There is also a free version: VMware Server 2.x.
In the virtual machine, you will find a material unified, which means you can push the guest around various VMware products.
You have USB, audio series, parallel, LAN available. If you need to connect via the wireless or aome other type of network that you can achieve as long as this communication device has a TCP/IP stack.
What do you mean by video? A graphics card or some sort of card TV etc. ? Of course, you have a virtual video card.

See this link for virtual material available under VMware Server (Page 28): http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmserver2.pdf
How effective is this tool.
It depends on what you want to do in my humble OPINION. It is not effective if you want to play high-end, latest games to edge. But for all other purposes as
-have more than one type of operating system for reasons any
-Development
-Creation of network for the test scenarios, learning

Upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium at 8 - CPU does not support NX
Hello
I have Vista Home Premium (very probably OEM as it came with the PC) on a PC and I bought the upgrade license to Windows 8 Pro.I understand that it is in terms of the license transition, but here is my problem:The CPU does not support NX (and for sure there is no setting in the BIOS for this). So I can't move to 8.To replace the CPU, I need to replace the motherboard. If I replace the motherboard my understanding is I'm losing the license because it OEM.So, in reality, I can't switch to Win 8.The license, I bought said that I can pass any system running XP, Vista, Win 7 to 8 Win.It does not distinguish between older versions of Windows OEM and retail versions. For me, it's a huge conflict. So the question is:Can I change the CPU + motherboard to earn 8? or not?Thank youIt has been some time but I finally had the time to do the upgrade (hardware + software). For history and for others who could come on this post with a similar question and be discouraged by responses like this:I contacted the technical support of MS and they confirmed that I had a Windows 8 Pro upgrade license and after upgrading my license would Win 8 Pro full-detail (what you want to call it). Essentially, after upgrade, I can reinstall any other motherboard. Of course you can only use a license on a machine at one time.(Of course your upgrade license type may be different to mine, so you should check they type of license)In any case, what is more interesting, it of that I got the confirmation that I can do a clean install and activate my upgrade license. Not only that, but they recommended the installation of Vista should not be present when installing on 8 to win. I was very skeptical and I asked for an account of the cat to be on the right side. They assured me that the support had made several times and is not a problem. And so, I do a clean install on the new motherboard (and a new player) and activated windows 8 with no problems at all.It seems very stupid that you can change the motherboard after the upgrade, but could not make the move and the Windows update at the same time. Fortunately, it is not the case.To me, it seems that the MS are aware that in you to go from XP (soon), they should also use the materials for the upgrade. -
Upgrades from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit to Win 7 Professional 64 bit
I have Windows Vista Premium 32 bit OS on a system Dual Core 2.8 ghz with 8 GB ram and upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS. I did the system compatibility check and it says I can upgrade to this version. He said not if I need to format or whatever it is. I have to format it completely on my C: drive to install this?
Hello
You cannot switch from 32-bit to 64-bit operating systems
they are completely different operating systems
to be done with a clean install
and even there the windows 7 pro is a 32-bit version of vista family premium to windows 7 Professional is NOT an upgrade path
read the upgrade paths:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772579 (WS.10) .aspx
and if you need additional information Windows 7 try windows forums 7 on the link below

Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade to Windows Home Premium.
I've upgraded to Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows Home Premium about a year on this computer. This computer had to enter the shop to be fixed. When I came back, I noticed that he had Home Basic top. I tried to use the disk upgrade on this computer again and it won't let me not upgrading and Technical Support wants to charge me 59,00 just to tell me what's wrong. I won't pay that kind of money for something that is already paid. What should I do?

Because of this support:
Looking for a difference in numbers/Service Pack levels.
If Service Packs came pre-installed on the operating system, there is no way to uninstall them.
You will need to swap the disk to upgrade to a later version that includes the missing Service Pack.On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.
Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have installed.

The upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate
Hello
I HAV downloaded the ISO file following from the MSDN (en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677460.iso) site for the upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.
How should I now improve my OS from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Double-click the ISO file says that Windows cannot open the file. How can I open the file? Should it be converted into a .exe file. If so, how?
Thank you.
A .iso file is an image of a dvd. It is not a program or data file. You need to burn this image on a dvd with your burning program. Copy disc, burn to disc. We'll then work the disc in your optical drive.
