Hi, Im running windows vista Home premium with IE 9 on 64-bit for now, nobody knows if there is a download free windows 7 available to try to improve my system from vista to windows 7? Thank you.
Hello
There is no free upgrade to Windows 7.
There was a special offer to do years back. but this offer has expired for a long time.
And Microsoft sells more than Windows 7.
Try Amazon.com.
Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium at 8 - CPU does not support NX
Hello
I have Vista Home Premium (very probably OEM as it came with the PC) on a PC and I bought the upgrade license to Windows 8 Pro.I understand that it is in terms of the license transition, but here is my problem:The CPU does not support NX (and for sure there is no setting in the BIOS for this).So I can't move to 8.To replace the CPU, I need to replace the motherboard.If I replace the motherboard my understanding is I'm losing the license because it OEM.So, in reality, I can't switch to Win 8.The license, I bought said that I can pass any system running XP, Vista, Win 7 to 8 Win.It does not distinguish between older versions of Windows OEM and retail versions.For me, it's a huge conflict.So the question is:Can I change the CPU + motherboard to earn 8? or not?Thank youIt has been some time but I finally had the time to do the upgrade (hardware + software).For history and for others who could come on this post with a similar question and be discouraged by responses like this:I contacted the technical support of MS and they confirmed that I had a Windows 8 Pro upgrade license and after upgrading my license would Win 8 Pro full-detail (what you want to call it). Essentially, after upgrade, I can reinstall any other motherboard. Of course you can only use a license on a machine at one time.(Of course your upgrade license type may be different to mine, so you should check they type of license)In any case, what is more interesting, it of that I got the confirmation that I can do a clean install and activate my upgrade license. Not only that, but they recommended the installation of Vista should not be present when installing on 8 to win. I was very skeptical and I asked for an account of the cat to be on the right side. They assured me that the support had made several times and is not a problem.And so, I do a clean install on the new motherboard (and a new player) and activated windows 8 with no problems at all.It seems very stupid that you can change the motherboard after the upgrade, but could not make the move and the Windows update at the same time. Fortunately, it is not the case.To me, it seems that the MS are aware that in you to go from XP (soon), they should also use the materials for the upgrade. -
Upgrades from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit to Win 7 Professional 64 bit
I have Windows Vista Premium 32 bit OS on a system Dual Core 2.8 ghz with 8 GB ram and upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS. I did the system compatibility check and it says I can upgrade to this version. He said not if I need to format or whatever it is. I have to format it completely on my C: drive to install this?
Hello
You cannot switch from 32-bit to 64-bit operating systems
they are completely different operating systems
to be done with a clean install
and even there the windows 7 pro is a 32-bit version of vista family premium to windows 7 Professional is NOT an upgrade path
read the upgrade paths:

The upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate
Hello
I HAV downloaded the ISO file following from the MSDN (en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677460.iso) site for the upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.
How should I now improve my OS from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Double-click the ISO file says that Windows cannot open the file. How can I open the file? Should it be converted into a .exe file. If so, how?
Thank you.
A .iso file is an image of a dvd. It is not a program or data file. You need to burn this image on a dvd with your burning program. Copy disc, burn to disc. We'll then work the disc in your optical drive.

Can I upgrade to windows vista home Premium 32 bit on 64-bit operating system
Im running windows 7 Home premium on opus 64-bit system. Can I upgrade to windows vista Home premium 32-bit...
Hello
This is not an upgrade from Windows 7 to Vista.
It is a downgrade that Vista is the previous operating system before Windows 7 came out and you would have to BUY a COMPLETE of Vista version and do a fresh install of Vista; but before you buy Vista, check first that your computer manufacturer provides the Vista drivers for your model computer.
Microsoft sells more Vista; Try Amazon.com.

Hello
You are unable to update or upgrade Vista 32 bit to 64 bit of Vista.
32-bit to 64-bit, or 64 bit to 32 bit is done by a new installation using a full version of the operating system.
32-bit and 64-bit are different operating systems.

Upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.
I am considering the upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate. I already bought the software Windows Vista Ultimate Edition at a great price from Circuit City when they were going out of business. I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium. I need to install a program called SolidWorks 2008 CAD - 2009 in College and this program is already bought and in my possession. Family Premium is not compatible with this program. I really don't want to go because I believe that it will lose the ultimate software, but I think, that I have no other choice in order to use my copy of SolidWorks 2008 - 2009. So I have a few questions related to it. Is there a way to get around this, and if not, is there something I need to do or uninstall until I try to install this upgrade? I can't afford to have any problems during this update because I need every day my computer for school. Is a one time installation were I will not be able to use this ultimate software on another computer ever? Thanks for your help.

Windows Vista Compatibility Center
Use the foregoing for checks for hardware and software compatibility.
If it is not Compatible, it is not Compatible with Vista.
Changing the Vista version it will be not Compatible.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Read this info on running your program in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode:
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/
If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers

Looking for Service Pack levels during the upgrade:
On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.
Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have install.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537
"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"
If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 upgrade disk > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.
And run the upgrade of a Vista operating system.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If it is a retail upgrade license, it can be transferred to another machine.
But it can be installed on a single computer at a time.See you soon.
I currently have a HP with Windows 7 on it. I want to wipe my hard drive (a full cleaning) and start again. I have the product key of Windows Vista Home Premium for a 64-bit computer, only to have not only not the disc. Recently, I called HP to get a new, only for them to tell me that they cannot help me because my warranty has expired... Is there somewhere else I can go to to get a disc without key on this product? I just need the diskette. If anyone can help me please, I would be very grateful. Thanks :)
Hello
You can't reinstall Vista on a recovery partition you have installed another operating system
read this:
Solve a common problem of recovery.If the original operating system is changed to a non - Vista OS, the Recovery Manager cannot be launched either office or by pressing f11 at startup. You can use the recovery disk to restore the computer to the original state of Vista. If you are using a non - Vista OS, you can use a third-party partition management program to recover hard disk space.________________________________________________________
Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
you say, that they will not!
________________________________________________________
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.
