Upgrade from Windows Vista to XP?
Toshiba will offer an upgrade to windows vista from windows xp?
Hello
I don t think that Toshiba will offer an update WinXP Vista.
Windows Vista is a stand-alone operating system and it must be installed with the original Microsoft CD or with the Toshiba recovery image. I'm 100% sure that Toshiba offers the recovery for the latest laptops Toshiba Vista CD.

Attempt to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7
I try to update my Windows Vista to Windows 7. I bought to download the rom update the Microsoft store and downloaded, but when I try to start the upgrade I have a stateing message that it is impossible to create or save new files in the folder where it was downloaded. I checked the security permissions in the file and made sure that no programs are 'read only', but it won't always go beyond this point!
Hello
What is the edition of Windows Vista installed on the computer?Make sure that you upgrade to the correct version, some versions of Windows cannot be upgraded with the installation disc you are trying to use. For example, you cannot upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade a higher edition of Windows like Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, to a lower edition, such as Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. If this is the case, you will need to use the custom during installation option.
Before you attempt to upgrade, please run the Windows 7 upgrade Advisor:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor
Also, check if your computer is compatible for Windows 7, using the Compatibility Center:

After upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 get error 0000 when turn on computer
I've recently updated my Windows from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Now, whenever I turn on my computer, I get an error message that says ERROR 0000. How can I fix this and what it means? I tried to get help online, but my ID is not recognized. Can someone help me?
You could try a few things first, check the Action Center in Windows 7 for all possible solutions (click Start, type: Action Center > press enter).
Then you can also try repair your installation of Windows 7:
1. Insert the DVD of Windows 7
2. restart your computer
3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD player, do it.
4. Select your language, click Next.
5. click on "repair your computer".
6. Select the operating system you want to repair. If the problem persists, try these other suggestions:
Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannowThis will check for any breach of integrity
Restart your system
Check your hard drive for errors:
Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

Pavilion DV6 - 1247CL upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 8. 1
I want to improve my Pavilion DV6 - 1247 CL Windows Vista at Windows 8. 1. I read on the site of Microsoft support that the only way to upgrade Vista to Windows 8.1 must do a clean install of DVD. Will I have problems with the HP drivers, etc... ? If so, what should I do to avoid these problems?
Yes there is no direct upgrade path from Vista to Windows 8. 1. I provide a counterpoint here. Your laptop is powerful enough to run Windows 8/8.1 and I bet all the drivers work just very rare possible exceptions that will be easy to fix. I would say what you can do to give up Vista is a good thing. You might want to consider Windows 7 as an alternative, but all that will take place in 7 runs generally 8/8.1.

Problems with the upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 error
I try to upgrade Vista Business 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, but I get an error at the beginning of the installation message saying "Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer. After clicking on the close button, its takes me back to the opening screen. Its a laptop with 3 GB of RAM. The program compatibility tells that should work, can anyone help?
Are you trying to upgrade Vista while it is running or are you boot from the Windows 7 DVD? Note: Windows 7 Home Premium requires an installation "Custom"and clean up as there is no path inplace upgrade (see below).»
Windows 7 system requirements: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/system-requirements
1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit (x 64) processor

Upgrades from Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit to Win 7 Professional 64 bit
I have Windows Vista Premium 32 bit OS on a system Dual Core 2.8 ghz with 8 GB ram and upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS. I did the system compatibility check and it says I can upgrade to this version. He said not if I need to format or whatever it is. I have to format it completely on my C: drive to install this?
Hello
You cannot switch from 32-bit to 64-bit operating systems
they are completely different operating systems
to be done with a clean install
and even there the windows 7 pro is a 32-bit version of vista family premium to windows 7 Professional is NOT an upgrade path
read the upgrade paths:

and if you need additional information Windows 7 try windows forums 7 on the link below
