upgrade from2009 probook

Would like to know the next update for my 10.5.8 probook 2009 version. 2.8 GHz 4 GB memory?

Snow Leopard 10.6.8 is the next update for you.

You must first upgrade to Snow Leopard until you can get any other new software updates.

    Help!

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM in my probook 6440 b

It came with 2GB, and I want to bump it up to 8 GB.

I already have very RAM, but can't access the slots of RAM (other than the one on the bottom of the unit).

I believe that the slots are located under the keyboard, but I can't find the removal instructions (or better yet, a video)

Normally trolling YouTube & Google is what I need, but I hit a wall.  Even the videos that I found who claims to be the correct model are not.  In some cases that aren't even from the same manufacturer and no part in the layout of my laptop.

  • ProBook 4520 s: upgrading my ProBook 4520 s

    Hey there dear community,

I have been using my HP ProBook 4520 s for more than 5 years. It serves me well throughout my college and colleges after years so I decided to try to muscle it a little rather than change. My current system specs are (have it with Speccy):

Operating system: Windows Pro 64-bit 10
    CPU: Intel Core i3 330M @ 2.13 GHz 61 ° C Arrandale 32nm technology
    RAM: 4.00 GB Dual - Channel DDR3 @ 532 MHz (7-7-7-20)
    Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 1411 (CPU 1)
Graphics card: monitor generic PnP (1366x768@60Hz)
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (HP)
    Storage: 1043GB Western Digital WDC WD1001X06X-00SJVT0 (SSD) 42 ° C Black2
Optical drives: DTSOFT device CdRom virtual hp DVDRAM GT30L
Audio: AMD High Definition Audio Device

Now, I have done my share of reading and I reach two conclusions:

-This laptop simply is not designed to work image or processors so my two options above are dual-core i5 or i7 CPU.

From what I've read here and there, the most optimal processor that can be used on this particular device are the i7 - 640M, i7 - 620 M and i5 - 580 M. I understand that if I go with either of these three, productivity would increase with about 25-30%.

    -J' have already updated the 3 GB memory to 4 GB, but to my understanding of this laptop supports up to 8 GB of memory, so I'm considerring getting a 2 x 4 GB DDR3 PC3-10600 • CL = 9 • unbuffered NON - ECC DDR3 - 1333 • 1.5V 512Meg x 64 kit SDRAM SO-DIMM 204-PIN.

My storage is pretty much the best thing to get for this laptop (there the SATA2 port (3 Gbps)) a full 1 TB SSD would be a bit pointless.

    My questions are:

-Are there problems or other things to consider about the possible CPU upgrade? I would love to see a video tutorial on how properly to the replacement

-Am I missing something with the memory upgrade? I'm a little hesitant on that tensions must be on the memory sticks (1.35v or 1.5V).

-Are there else I can do for this in order to make a little more current (drive optical swap with something else, etc..)?

I really appreciate every suggestion and comment.

    Thank you!

    Cap

I7 - 640 M is the top processor of the page. Memory DDR3-1066 and is 1.5 volt. The most recent memory of 1.35 volts to the DDR3-1600 not will probably support. HP recommends this:

    4 GB (PC3-10600 1333 MHz, DDR3) 599092-001

    Your repair manuals

    YouTube video

Technology in the video does not actually remove the CPU but it shows. Remove the processor carefully by turning the locking screw for "open" and lift the CPU out. Be extremely careful with the pins. The new line backup the same orientation as the old and drop it in. Just be sure to block the processor setscrew down tight when you go back. You must follow the instructions on the installation of thermal paste and cleaning.

You can also consider a SSD drive. The gains to be achieved will be more sensitive than the CPU or memory. Also keep an eye on what you spend and make sure it makes sense. If I could only do an upgrade, it would be the SSD. I would like to bother with a Blu - Ray player on a laptop.

  • ProBook replace 450 G1 HDD/SSD

    Hello

I want to upgrade my ProBook 450 G1 E9Y39EA with an SSD. So my tought, I have replace the HARD original with the SSD drive and I take ot the optical drive and I put the HARD drive in place, through a Caddy. But in my understanding, the height of the optical drive is 9, 5mm, while the Toshiba HDD (which comes with the s) is about 10 mm (0.4 in).

So my question, is this a problem, or the HARD drive will fit just right?

    Thanks in advance!

Not exactly. The HARD drive will fit in a caddy ODD of 9.5 mm.

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You have the right idea. In the caddy/adapter optical drive is not bootable and will roll at a slightly slower speed, still good enough for storage crude but does not for the operating system running. Put the SSD in the computer and the old HDD in the adapter optical caddy.

  • ProBook 470 G2: Probook 470 G2

    Dear HP

After the installation of Win 7, two unsolve problems

    1. a PCI driver cannot detect

    2. the function and F9 and F10 key cannot adjust the brightness of the screen.

Please help to solve. I already try the solution below.

    Hello:

You need this driver for the dev of pci.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=ob_146748_1

Have you installed the applicable graphic driver for your laptop?

You will not be able to adjust the brightness of the screen, unless the graphics driver is installed.

If you have installed the graphics driver, then the only other suggestion I can offer would be to install the Hotkey Support driver if you have not already done so.

  • ProBook 4530 s: win 10 results ProBook s 4530 in no Wi - Fi

    Good afternoon, all!

I tried to upgrade a ProBook s 4530 on Windows 10.  Everything looks good, until I try to connect to Wi - Fi.  The widget simply says 'Impossible to connect wireless' and there is no showing why Event Viewer entry.

The wired adapter works fine.  They both have the Realtek card.  I tried the driver Windows 8.1 without success.  The hard switch is activated and the LED is white.  The BIOS is the latest & greatest.  Also triple-checked the router password without the THST wire - OK, too!

Without indication of the BONE as to what is happening, I may restore Win 7 and either start again or give up.  I have an other s I tried to level; the without wire was fine, but there was something in the services that refresh the office and break the RDP and VPN connections.  So I'm a little worried that these laptops are not always stretch to win 10.

Tips to win 10 to run on this?

    Thanks for all the research!

    Hello:

If your laptop is RTL8188CE wireless card, it does not work on W10.

I didn't even know that there was a W8.1 driver for him.  I thought that this card made up to a maximum of W8.

Why upgrade to the Intel card wlan card does not appear in the maintenance manual... Chapter 3, page 25.

That should work well on W10.  Not only that, but then you get a dual band with bluetooth card.

    Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 HP Part # 636672-001

The only caution is you must get this card, and it must have the HP part # on it or it will not work because of the white list of BIOS HP has on these models.

You should be able to find opportunity but in State tested and functional at a great price on eBay by questioning by the part number.

I'll make sure that you see the HP part number indicated for the item in the picture list.

  • ProBook 470: ProBook 470 poor WiFi after upgrade to Windows 10

    Hi all

There are so many issues report on WiFi on Windows 10 problems, but I'm not really mine.

I'm running the ProBook HP 470 with WiFi Atheros 9000 series card. It worked fine with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

A couple of weeks, I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. Everything works fine, except the WiFi. I can connect to the WLAN and network speed and the signal strength is perfect, but after a while (minutes or even hours), he falls abruptly to the bottom and my router WLAN even States disconnected, but he'll fix itself after a while. I can force the "self-repair-speed" of disabling and enabling WiFi again.

But, this is no good solution, WiFi has to work reliable all the time when not moving and it work perfectly with Windows 7. I was hoping that Microsoft and hardware vendors manage drivers after one year of version 10 of Windows, but seems not to be the case.

I have already installed the latest driver for HP download site, but it is already a year old, and it was the same thing as Windows / Microsoft has done while Windows Upgrade. Therefore no change to be expected.

Before that I go down again to Windows 7, what can I do? There are a few other pilots who could interfere with WLAN and might not be updated? (More of the WLAN driver I don't have other day manually because I count for the Windows upgrade process.)

    Volker

The laptop is to date, according to the release of Windows 10.

Anyway, it doesn't work well, that's why I decided to downgrade to Windows 7. Now it works again as it is supposed to.
