  • The upgrade memory and HDD on Satellite Pro A300-1EA

So, I'm new to this forum so first of all Hello to all!

I plan to buy the Satellite Pro A300 1EA and I came to the conclusion that I need to buy more memory that the thing has already installed (2 048 MB).
I tried to search for information through Kingston and OCZ, but have not found something solid on what memory modules are supported by the A300-1EA.

The A300-1EA uses DDR2 800 Mhz type of memory (max 8192MB) instead of just dealing with one module 2084 installed, I had intended to get two of them.

What I have to buy two identical modules, or can I increase memory by simply adding a module to match installed?
So if anyone has an idea where I could find on the modules of memory supported, that would be swell! :)

The other thing is quite the same, but only with hard disks. I found many potential readers than fullfill my needs for a faster drive (upgrade of 5400 RPM / min-> 7200 RPM), but I don't know which ones work with this laptop.

After all, I'm in the impression that laptops are not so easy on these pieces as desktop computers.

    Thanks in advance!

Satellite Pro A300-1EA belongs to the series of PSAG9E, and it seems that it was fitted on the Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express.
As far as I know, that you can improve this laptop 4 GB RAM max so I wonder which tells you something about 8 GB support.
You can upgrade the memory to 4 GB, and you can use the 200-PIN SODIMM 800 MHz modules.

But to be honest I don t understand why you want to upgrade if the 32-bit Windows operating system will see only 3.2 GB due to the limitation of the 32-bit operating system.

    With regard to the drive HARD;
You need a HARD drive 2.5 SATA.

    15 GB HARD DRIVE

I recently installed at 256 MB of memory and it seems that the memory slots. To develop my memory 512 MB what should I remove the memory of 128 MB and replace it with a 256?
Addition, how else can in I put this laptop? I could increase the HARD drive? How could I increase it with 512 MB of memory?

    Hello

It is not easy to find specific info on older models of laptops. According to the mobile news it can handle with max 512 MB of RAM. Compatible RAM module is KTT-SO815/256 256 MB memory-(Kingston). With the help of two of them you can have max RAM and laptop will go much quicker.

Disk HARD is not easy to say with certainty, but I think that you can pass to 30 or even 60 GB, but 30 should not be a problem.

  • Need for clarification in regards if you upgrade memory and HDD invalidates the warranty/support Dell

    Hello!

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 at the end of January. I told the sales guy cat exactly what I needed for and what my budget was. Well, based on his advice, I ended up raising my budget so I could have the best possible computer for my use.

Now, normally, I don't buy a computer on mine, but the person I usually consult wasn't available, so I thought, Hey, the Dell guy cat must know what he's talking about.

The computer he sold me a * disk drive (5200 rpm, I think). I told him that I wanted it for the recording software. After I bought it (buyer's remorse), several people told me that he should have sold me an SSD.

Okay - Here's my thing: I can go buy a SSD and install it. But cancel my expensive service plan and a guarantee that I have? In addition, tech support plan? And regardless if it's a Dell hardrive and I can someone have set up here, or that I have to send the laptop back and have Dell to install one of their SSD to preserve the warranty and service plan?

    Thank you.

With Dell, you are allowed to replace serviceable by the user on your computer without to as voiding the warranty.  Examples being the hard drives, memory, graphics cards, etc.  If ever you have a problem and need to send the unit for repair, you will need to replace your Dell parts provided those and Dell will only be guaranteed components provided by them.

Also, you are more then welcome to install yourself, however if damage you something during the installation it will invalidate your guarantee that you caused the damage.

Yes TLDR you can install anything you want.

  • How to activate windows after upgrading my memory and HDD, motherboard?

I built my system with a full copy of Windows Vista four years ago.  Since then, I've bought a 3 license upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium.  I've improved this system and a laptop with this copy.  Now, I did a major update on my main system, replace the card mother, cpu, memory, and hard drive.  I made a new installation using the disks in windows 7, assuming that he asked to give me my Vista drive, but he never did.  The installation is completed successfully and now, three days later, I received an activation error.  The automated phone system didn't work either, saying: I did not meet licensing requirements.  What can I do?

Try the phone activation, do not meet all the guests until given the opportunity to speak to a real person

  • Upgrade memory 4 GB on Satellite A200-23W

    Hello
I asked Toshiba service here in Greece upgrade memory than my A200 23W and they buy a 2 GB memory module (I noticed that there was no need for 2 because there was that one module in this topic but anyway...).

I did and installed the new memory, but since than, in the information system, I can only see this:

    2.01 GB available physical memory
    6.19 GB total virtual memory
    5.12 GB available virtual memory
    Page file space 3.29 GB

So my question is WHY AVAILABLE PHYSICAL MEMORY IS STILL 2.01 GB? When I installed 4 GB and the system can see that only in theory.

There is nothing wrong with your system. As you have already posted, windows displays your total amount of 4 GB of physical memory and the total physical memory to 3 GB.
The part with the available memory is a thing of windows and displays how much memory is left for other programs, because windows needs some of them your own sound.

So, if you want to use all of your 4 GB you will need to use a 64 bit version of Vista, because 32-bit versions are limited to a maximum size of 3, 29GB as already indicated your page file space.

Hope this cleared some things now.

  • HP pavilion dv7 1260us: upgrade memory and processor for hp pavilion dv7 1260us

I was wondering if possible to upgrade my memory and processor... hp pavilion dv7 1260us?

    Here are the specs:

    Plug

You have an AMD Turion RM-74 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The RAM is DDR2 and it may take 8 GB of DDR2, but that the memory of any reputable vendor is crazy expensive, like $150 ++ for 2 x 4 gig modules.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The top of the page compatible processor is an AMD Turion™ Ultra Dual-Core 35W ZM-86 2.40 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

If you want to go from 2.2 ghz to 1 meg to 2.4 ghz with 2 MB of L2 cache L2 cache, may be a treatment of 20% energy improvement. Not enough, IMO, to justify the difficulty because it is still not in the ballpark of machines of today.

You can buy the processor from a dealer renowned for $15 with free shipping. That should tell you what the demand is for her. Basically obsolete.

I replaced motherboards in several series dv7-1000, and it is one of the harder to take apart laptops. Many cables in strange tablecloth and Remora in all directions.

We are ready to help in any way possible with the upgrade, but in this case probably the best advice that I can give you is "don't".

  • Envy 15 t: upgrade memory and hard drive HP ENVY 15t

Hi guys, I just bought the HP Envy 15 not touch t (ae100) with the following characteristics:

-CPU & graphics: 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core processor + Intel HD Graphics 530

    -Memory: 8 GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM

-Hard drive: 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive

I have a few questions about it. First of all, my laptop doesn't have a vacant unit of m2 where I can insert an SSD and if not a SATA 3 2.5-inch SSD fits instead of the hard disk without additional fixing or need support.

Second, is there an empty memory slot to insert a 8 GB of additional ram.

Any kind of assistance will be extremely useful and thanks in advance.

No crack m2. From the Manual:

Only dedicated support of storage SATA m2 (Port 0) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB memory graphics)

So if you have Intel HD video only you do not have a slot m2.

Here's the manual for your use:

    Repair manuals

Yes on the memory 8 GB 2d module:

Both not accessible/upgradable module DDR3L-1600 slots double channel memory support 16 GB of RAM in the following conƭgurations ● 16384-Mo (8192 MB × 2)

Access to the memory and hard drive are obtained by removing the lower cover. Technically this is not allowed to the end user if security is jeopardized.

A standard 2.5 inch SATA SSD to integrate perfectly in the original hardware for hard disk 5400 RPM. It is a highly recommended update. The 16 GB of RAM not so much, but it's one of those things "might as well" If you are determined to go there.

  • Equium M50-244: Question about upgrade memory and Wlan card

I have a model Equium M50-244. What type of network adapter I need to fit a Wi - Fi connection on my hub (BT)?
Also, I currently have 512 MB of ram installed. Can I increase this?

    Hi cora,

Of course, you can improve the memory to a higher value.
This book must support 2 slots of memory and it should be possible to increase memory for max 2048 MB. In this case, you can use 2 x 1024Mo module.

I also found information that this laptop will accept this module:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

  • Upgrade the HARD drive, memory and display on Satellite A30 921 driver

I got a model a30-921, satellite phone for two years now. I would ask someone who could help me how to put my hard drive from 40 to the majority and the memory to 1 g. and also where can I find the latest driver for ati mobility radeon igp 9000.

Thank you and looking forward to here from you soon.

    Hi Remelito,

I use a 80 GB hard drive in my SA30 and I suspect it would probably work with a 100 GB drive. However, as portable hard drives tend to suffer ruptures busiest I think their close office 80 GB is perfectly o.k. for me. I tend to have 25-30 GB used with the rest of the temporary files during editing of the videos etc. The hard drive in the A30 is usually under the optical drive to remove all first in order to access the hard drive.

Your A30 can be upgraded to a maximum of 2 GB of RAM in two slots. Currently, you will have 2 X 128 MB or 2 X 256 MB modules of RAM installed. You can get the modules of memory in the sizes of 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB or 1 GB. the following URL provides information on reference numbers (the United Kingdom site), but you can Google for a suitable provider.
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=11505&ft=m&St=3

Toshiba unfortunately do not provide regular updates to their display drivers (at least in my experience). Like you, I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000IGP in my SA30 and I resorted to a driver Omega catalyst in order to play newer games. I ran this Omega driver for many months now with still no Bul. You can obtain this driver from: -.

Can I update on laptop up to 4 GB memory? May need new bios version?
Or this model doesn t use more than 2 GB.
Anyone know what is the maximum size of the HD drive I can use on this model?

If you do a search on Google you will find:

    standard: 1 024 (512 + 512) MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)

So, as you can see you are not able to be upgraded up to 4 GB, and the bios update does not help you

    Hello

I checked the properties of the TOSHIBA PA3005U - 1 M 12 memory module in the web, and it seems that it is a 128 MB PC100 SODIMM module.

In addition, I think that you can update your device with 2x128MB but please check the square inside the unit if there are 2 available memory slots.

  • Upgrade memory not accepted by Satellite C660

    I installed a 4 GB ram module to upgrade this Satellite C660d C66 (PSC1LE).

When I then try to start the system all that happens is that a flashing cursor appears in the upper left corner of the screen. The configuration system is 4 GB installed. If I put the original memory in the laptop then everything works ok.
I contacted the supplier of the ram module and they sent me a replacement, but exactly the same problem occurred.

    Any notice received with gratitude.

There must be a compatibility problem. What new RAM use? What brand?

RAM upgrade I recommend you to use only high quality modules. The best quality offers Kngston.

Toshiba recommends using 4 GB of RAM with PA3918U-1M4G part number.

  • Upgrade memory 667 Mhz for Satellite U300

    Hello

I have a new Satellite u300-11v and I was hoping to upgrade the memory standard modules of current 2 x 1 GB 2 x 2 GB ddr800 for a max speed of memory. However, after looking at intels site for specifications of the chipset for my machine (its got an intel mobile GM965 chipset) it seems that it will only support up to 667 mhz RAM modules.

Reading a little further, I think that if I have a memory at 667 mhz bus it can only be reached through the module 1 x 2 GB at 667 mhz. Currently I put 2 x 2 GB 667 modules in the machine, the default memory bus at 533 mhz.
I watched chipset specs of your laptop (945GM) while I was on the site intels and your in the same boat as me.

Heres so the dilemma: you have just 1 x 2 GB 667 MHz memory to get this speed little extra memory or go for 2 x 2 GB to the slowest to 533 mhz to accommodate all these massive windows page file.

For me, have family Vista premium running on a machine that can bring together only a bus 533 mhz memory with 4 GB of ram is not acceptable while I will now go back to XP pro which is not so heavy on resources.

Did you really notice the difference between the memory 533 MHz bus and memory 667 MHz modules?

Of course, there is a small difference in performance, but you will never get a performance gain by using the modules of 667 MHz instead of 553 Mhz modules.

  • Portege R30 does not SSD start after upgrade SSD and HDD

    Hello

I have improved my Portege R30 - A to add a second SSD (Crucial M550) replace the optical with the new SSD drive with caddy.

But now the system does not start automatically from the original SSD.

I could press F12 while turning on my laptop and make it appear the start guide. Here I can see my original SSD and I can boot from it properly.

In order to boot in the BIOS, I see only the HDD/SSD, USB, ODD memory... It doesn't gives me the possibility to choose between SSDS.

In any case when I boot in this way than getting blue screens after awhile in win7.

I tried to install a HARD drive as the second drive instead os SSD and her resut is the same.

Is that what I can do to solve this, now I have to use the second drive as an external USB drive.

    Thank you

    Hello

This ODD of SSD/HDD replacement is not always possible and in many cases, the BIOS will not handle and will not recognize the new HARD disk correctly.

That I can remember some old laptops Toshiba Tecra and Portege that supported the functionality of Slim Select Bay were able to manage the 2nd HARD drive instead of driving WEIRD, but this was not possible due to the available selection slim Bay.

In your case it looks like the laptop so that the BIOS does not support this function and, therefore, the additional SSD/HDD isn't recognised correctly.
