Upgrade memory for a Satellite Pro 4320

I own a Satellite Pro 4320. He has the memory factory (64 MB), and I want to develop it. I read in the manual that it is possible to install up to 576 MB. But in other documents and web pages, I read that 320 MB is the maximum memory.

Anyone know what is the right number?

Does anyone know where to find 256 MB modules (if they can be installed)? I found only 128 MB modules.

Thanks in advance

Hello

I found information that 320 MB Max for this device. I have also not lucky to find the 256 MB RAM module for this device. There are two possibilities. You can contact the partner in your country and stopped a single module or you have to find some pieces of mobile equipment supplier in your country.

    Hello

I need help. I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro 4270XDVD. I want to increase my memory, as I have only 64 guidelines that come with it. When I opened the back of the computer to check the memory locations there are 2 empty ones. There is a Slot A and B. The problem is that A slot is broken. The 2 clamps that hold the memory are absent. Someone broke them up. B of Slot memory seems OK, and I put a barrette of memory in it. The problem is that my manual says not to use slot B if A slot is empty. Do you know why this is? Also is it possible to fix the clips in A slot without replacing the entire motherboard.

    Thanks for your help,

Have two cell phones of #PSAE1E - 00T002EN Satellite Pro A200 and wanted to know if I can pass the 2 x 1 GB memory 2 x 2 GB?

If I understand correctly what ask you, you want to upgrade memory of 4 GB laptops.

Well, I think that it s is not possible.
The Satellite Pro A200 supports maximum 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB), then you will not be able to use 2 x 2 GB modules.

  • Question about the upgrade memory for my Satellite M40-307

Sorry for the newbie question. But if I have 512 MB of memory for the time being, what are my upgrade options?

Do I have to buy pairs of memory? So I can or buy 2 x 1 GB = 2 GB, or 2 x 512 MB = 1 GB + 512 existing. Or can I say just buy a single 512 MB or 1 GB chip?

Since no one wants to answer:
    1. check if your laptop supports Dual Channel Ram (it should be, but just see the manual to be sure)
    2. knowledge of what type of RAM you have. This will add or remove a possibility of upgrade

The thing with Dual Channel is, that you have the best performance if you use 2 RAM of the same type (really of the same type: company, size...)
    you could:
    3. Add a 512 MB of RAM of the same type you have
3 b. buy 2 pieces of new RAM of the same type (1 GB + 1 GB, or 2 + 2 GB) and do not forget that your laptop supports this quantity (once again: manual to check)

You will also find in the manual, if your computer supports DDR or same DDR2 RAM (faster)

If you have lost your manual, you can download it here on the toshiba Web page

    I hope I could help a little.

  • Upgrade memory for a Satellite M40X 299

I need to upgrade the memory of my Satellite, but I can't find a memory location... is there not another?
I had 1 come on, now, I have 1.5 GB (replaced a 512 to 1024) and I would like 2 go (by replacing the other 512 with another 1 GB)
    can someone help me?
    thanx

    Hello

Well, there are two sites of memory, but only is extensible.
As far as I know as the 512 MB is standard and memory max that you can use is 1536 MB (512 MB + 1024 MB)

Unfortunately, you can use 1536 MB and more is not possible

  • Upgrade memory for [b] Satellite A40 - 261 [/ b]

I want to upgrade the memory of my notebook.
I know that the installed memory is DDR2700 (333 mhz) but I would like to know which brand is already installed and/or brands/types are approved by Toshiba.

    THX in advance

    Hello

normally, you don't need to bother with the brands of MHz' are and stuff like that. If you point out that you want to buy (recommended) Toshiba memory original option for this model, nor a f.ex. use a 3rd Kingston memory advantage - you just say "I have this model, give me a 256, 512 memory or whatever."
It will then work perfect in your system as well as the memory you already have.

    Best regards

  • Upgrade memory to the Satellite Pro A120-185 PSAC1E

The original installed memory of 1 GB in my trusty old A120 is now become a bit of a factor limiting and I want to upgrade to the full 4 GB. I checked this site and it says that the memory runs at 533 MHz.

However, looking at various other sites suggested that some varieties of this laptop can run memory running at 667 MHz - according to its region!

Anyone knows which is the right speed?
Obviously, I want to put a faster RAM in it when I update, but if we can't run it, I don't want to waste money I can't use memory especially.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tony

    Hello

    > However looking at various other sites given to think that some varieties of this laptop can run memory running at 667 MHz - according to its region!
Depends on the FSB (front side bus)

If the FSB would allow the 667 Mhz, then the modules of memory also would go to 667 Mhz. If the FSB supports only 533 Mhz then your modules will be run max 533 Mhz even though the modules support 667 Mhz.
Simply said; the FSB can slow down the speed of the memory.

    Welcome them

  • Upgrading memory on a Satellite Pro S300

    Hello

I have a S300 with 3 GB of RAM and want to switch to 4 GB. There are two memory cards into the machine, both with 4 chips. What should I do to increase capacity? I guess I will need to replace the two cards with a pair of 2 GB cards.

    Thank you very much
    Stan

Yes, you will need to use 2 x 2 GB RAM modules.
I guess that the DDR2 800 MHz SO-DIMM should be compatible.
I made good experiences with the Kingston modules. Very good brand and good quality.

  • Readers of DVD - RW compatible for Satellite Pro 4320

I want to upgrade the CD-ROM drive in my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4320 with a new DVD - RW drive. If I bought the next disk, will it work with my laptop?
    Samsung SN-S082D SlimDrive
    http://www.Samsung.com/Products/OpticalDiscDrive/SlimDrive/OpticalDiscDrive_SlimDrive_SN_S082D.asp?page=SPECI stories

Or, if you please, if you know a DVD - RW drive compatible with this laptop, then share your knowledge for me and others know what to buy. Thank you.
Or are all the available discs today compatible?

Compatibility of the player is always a problem to upgrade. The fact is that every ODD won't work with each laptop model. I assume it's due to the assignment of the different pins.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any list of compatible sides for your laptop model. Sat Pro 4320 is quite old and it will probably not so easy to find the compatible DVD - RAM drive. Try to contact Toshiba authorized in your country. They are upgrading specialized and they know which sides are compatible for this laptop Satellite Pro.

  • Satellite Pro 4320 - upgrade to Windows XP Home edition

I have a 'standard' of Satellite Pro 4320 and plans the upgrade from Windows 2000 to XP - either domestic or professional. Y at - it advice on the problems or things to watch I'm likely to encounter?

    Hi Graham,

Only problem you may have is that the Toshiba utilities were all designed for Windows 2000 and may not work properly with XP. Downloads available for your laptop have only an update of the BIOS for XP.

Obviously XP contains device and utility drivers much more generic, so you may find that your system will work very well with the latter. Similarly, you can see that install the original Toshiba utility will work also. I have no definitive evidence either way.

You can also find you would benefit to increase the RAM since XP uses rather than previous operating systems.

  • Satellite Pro 4320 CD upgrade

First of all, sorry if this message appears twice. I posted earlier this morning and he did not notice in the list of the forums then posted again.

I myself have recently a Satellite Pro 4320, but want to upgrade the standard CD-ROM drive to a CD - RW. I found a car at a computer fair and manage mounting.

I thought that you could drag the disc on the side and replace it - but alas no! I deleted EVERY visible screw unit and it STILL don't fall apart!

Help! How can I change the CDROM - I have not sent it to a service provider for the lack of a second-hand car £5... I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Barry

    Hello Barry

It is not easy to change the CD-rom on this machine and if you don't have a lot of experience you shouldn't do it yourself. Problem is that the CD is fixed on the map system and if you want to remove the drive must disconnect the System Board at first.

To do this, you need to disassemble the whole laptop and open it by completely removing the top cover.

Sorry but I can't give you more information because any dismantling procedure is not known to me.

    Good luck!

Maybe you used the memory modules bad.
As far as I know that you can upgrade memory for max 192 MB
The 64 MB has been installed in an internal memory and cannot be deleted.

    I found these compatible modules:
    PA3003U - 1 M 03 32 MB

  • Satellite Pro 4320 - update the BIOS

    Hello

Can someone tell me how to upgrade the bios on a Satellite Pro 4320?

I downloaded the update of the Toshibas files download area and read the instructions, but in vain.

It doesn't seem to be a flash Bios of Windows for the 4320 utillity, so I just downloaded the zip file and place content (1 Exe, 1 tray, 1 Pdf) on a floppy, rebooted the laptop holding F12 but I got was 3 lines of text in German and a DOS prompt - I know that I downloaded from the site of English support because I did it 3 times now!

    Thank you

    Barry

    Hello

It is a statement of the BIOS update:

    1. step:
Use a (not bootable) 1.4 MB 3.5 "floppy and copy the BIOS files on it."
    2. step:
Turn off the machine, turn it on by now pressed the F12 key
and choose to boot from the diskette.
For more recent machines, press the ALT key and the SPACEBAR
    The rest is automatic.

If there is only a problem please read the information to update the BIOS on the Web site.
