Upgrade memory for Satellite A100 - 02 M

My laptop has 1 GB of memory originally and I want to upgrade to 2 GB.

I've identified the 2 x 1 GB memory PC2 DDR2 (667 MHz) modules that I need but am confused if I should choose module type PA3512U-1M1G or PA3512S-1M1G.

Two of these pieces are available in parts of Toshiba, but Kingston lists only the correct PA3512U-1M1G for my laptop (A100 - 02 M).
The two parts are compatible with the laptop and is one better than the other?

The price of Toshiba of the 'U' part is rated £14.20 and the "S" £16.54 each party. "

DRM for info.

I imagine that Toshiba has more information on compatibility and specifications of the laptop you can use both of them. Now, it's your choice.

Kingston is also good place to buy Rams. They always offer quality products.

After following the instructions for the instillation, that I turned the laptop on to find that it was slower than before and that the new ram had not registered as 128, and always thought it was 64 in someone can help me solve this ir is there anything I can do?

    Hi Ben

Maybe you used the memory modules bad.
As far as I know that you can upgrade memory for max 192 MB
The 64 MB has been installed in an internal memory and cannot be deleted.

    I found these compatible modules:
    PA3003U - 1 M 03 32 MB
    PS3004U - 1 M 06 64 MB
    PS3005U - 1 M 12 128 MB

  • Upgrade memory of Satellite A100

    Hi all
I have a satellite A100-583, which currently has 1 GB of ram and want to know which is the bigger it can be upgraded to and it is worth it, also need to be replaced with 533ddr2 or can it be replaced by 667 and who is a better upgrade?
Can you also tell me what is SODIMM and if that makes a difference?

    Hello

the machine can be upgraded to a maximum of 4 GB of main memory, and if it s worthy can per person answer, but only by yourself.

Do you really need it? I think would be best that go you to 2 GB from you´re not a graphic designer who has larger images (which can be a few gigabytes high :)).

As a normal vista/XP user, you need only 2 GB. You even won´t not recognize the jump of 1 GB, 2 GB of RAM or more.

Regarding the modules FSB frequency: it doesn´t matter how often you use, you really won´t winning performance when you use the 667 mhz modules, if just to get a nice pair of 2x2gb with 533 Mhz sticks and just enjoy the 'speed '.

The next memory will work or not

    Specifications:
    Total size: 2GBMB
    Type: DDR2 SDRAM
    Form factor: DIMM 200 pin
    Memory speed: 667 Mhz (PC-5300)

I don't know who is the manufacturer of this module of RAM, but I hope that you use high quality products. Unfortunately I can't test with my Satellite A100, but I think you can use this RAM module.

According to some reports here on the forum, maybe you will have problem to make it work with a former RAM module. Test it please and please let us know how it works.

In any case, I think you need to use the 100% compatible module. If you want to check here

    Memory type: DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM

    Straight forward question - WILL DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM
    work in this machine

    Concerning

I'm sure it will work, but I wonder why use RAM with different FSB. If possible, try to get the recommended and tested RAM module:

    1 GB OF DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G)

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite L30-134

I have a Satellite L30-134, which seems to work pretty slowly - I think that due to the large amount of photos and music from itunes.

I wonder which is the best way to solve - buy a memory upgrade (no idea how to change memory well) or get an external hard drive?
And if I change the memory I'll lose what is already saved on the laptop?

I agree with Ganz most HARD drive will not improve performance but increase the disk space available HARD, it would be you can store more music and picture on HARD drive ;) files

Upgrade memory also would not provide a performance gain of course performance could be a little better because most of the things would be handled directly in memory and not in time on the HARD drive, but generally it s not really noticeable.

In any case if you want to improve memory, check this:

    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=25737&ft=m&St=3

    You must use DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM

  • Upgrades memory for Satellite 1800 412

    HI -.

I have a 1800-412 Satellite which becomes very slow so I intend to upgrade the memory. I've been hunting around a few different sites to see what I can buy, and there seem to be differing opinions whose memory actually fits my laptop:

Site Web of Kingston said that I'm going to need their KTT-SO100/256
.. .but another site suggested the KTT-S0815/256

Both websites claim that this is the chip that works.

I have also looked on the Toshiba site and found the part PA3069U - 1 M 25 number is the one I'm looking for, but the chips I found for sale online recommended for my laptop have different numbers for Toshiba...

    Help! I'm confused!
What exactly should I buy? There are actually several different chips that work or are some of these sites try to sell me a bad?

    Thanks for your help,

    Morag

    Hello

I found the information that your device can handle with 1 024 MB max memory compatible Module is PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25). This module has been tested and it will be recognized correctly.

I recommend you to use the right and tested a title less expensive but maybe not tested one.

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite A25-S207

Hi, I want to spend my memory (2x256mb 266 mhz).

In my view, what is of 266 mhz PC2100. I can't PC2700 (333 mhz) or PC3200 (400 mhz) for my laptop Satellite A25-S207?

I'll buy one or two probably 1 GB of memory.

Don't know what them to restrict my upgrade of the laptop.

    Hello

You can use PC2700 DIMM´s and your machine is expandable up to 1 GB of main memory (2 x 512 MB PC2100/PC2700). So feel free to upgrade.
I think it would be best to use original toshiba modules because they are known to work perfectly in machines toshiba... ;)

    Hey Buddy,

Can you please tell us what Satellite you have exactly?

I ask this question because I also have laptop Satellite L: Satellite L300. The more manual, you will find information about RAM upgrade and photo live what you have to remove and other important information.
    Check it!

Theoretically you can buy each manufacturing modules but I recommend high quality of Kingston for example modules. I still only good experience with these modules.

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite A10 S811 PSA10E

I want to upgrade the memory on my old laptop, I found the manual and read a bit into it.
It apparently uses DDR PC2100 (266 Mhz) features of two memory slots and only allows that up to 512 mb modules.
Is it possible to use modules bigger or faster.
I hope that the low speed and size has something to do with the time that it was produced before more large modules have been as prevalent as they are today.
Also how many pins is there on the modules, I guess that DDR modules for laptops are different from those of desktop computers.

    My laptop:
    Toshiba Satellite A10

    SA10-S811

    Model No.: PSA10E-0ZJ57-DK

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello!

Of course, you can use larger modules.
Chipset supports up to 1 GB of RAM.

Fastest modules (PC2700 or PC3200) should not be a problem, but I think that they will not work with the speed of the PC2100.
    The part number for 2 x 512 MB RAM is PA3164U - 1 M 51

  • Upgrade memory for satellite 2450-401

    Hi guyz,
I want to upgrade the memory of my satellite 2450-401: as what is written in the manual, it can support a maximum of 1 GB memory (512 MB each slot), but according to www.crucial.com it would accept up to 2 GB (1 GB each slot). Actually notebook chipset (intel 845) can support 2 GB of memory, but I'm a bit confused: is the information declared in the toshiba manual correct? Or can I install 2 GB?
    I thank in advance
    Luca

    Hi Luca

I have to be honest to you and in this case, I think that the information in the manual of Toshiba I correct. It is possible that this can work, but you must be careful with this. If there is warranty of curcal.com that it will work correctly you can buy it. In the other direction to install just the size given in the manual of Toshiba. It will work correctly because it has already been tested.

    Good bye

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite Pro L20

I use a satellite L20 pro - PSL25E. That this PSL25E means in terms of satellite pro L20 - 102 until xxx. On the support site to keep just the numbers but not this alphanumeric expression. I need this in order to select the upgrade module suitable.
If this can be answered, could someone tell me which module to upgrade should I choose in addition to the existing 512 MB?
    Thanks in advance

    Klator

It of nice that you have found the laptop model after your own investigation.
However, in my opinion the portable Satellite Pro L20 all support the same kind of memory, if it s L20-259 Pro or Pro L20-174

The units are supported on these modules:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
