  • Upgrade memory for Satellite U200: are supported with 667 mhz modules?

I am a new user and I'm on a Toshiba Sat U-200-115. I want to upgrade, and I intend to do an upgrade to 4 GB.

What I want to know, although it said this laptop supports the upgrade to 4 Gig, but this model use a DDR2 533 MHz memory. Considering that since the Web from Toshiba site, I see only 1 slot memory of Gig available with this clock speed and a 2 Gig DDR2 available with clock speed of 667 MHz. What I want to know, if I want to upgrade to 4 GB memory with clock speed more high clock (667 instead of, 533) would work on this machine?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It depends on the chipset of your Satellite U200-115.

If chipset supports 4 GB of memory and BIOS and Vista supports 4 GB of memory too, then you can go use the full 4 GB of RAM.
If the FSB takes care also of 667 Mhz then modules of memory would also go wit full 667 Mhz speed.
If the chipset supports only 533 Mhz then the chipset would slow the 667 Mhz module and memory would go only to 533 Mhz.

So what you have to do is check what chipset is equipped in the U200-115.
Full details and specifications of chipset you can find on the page of Intel.

But generally, there is no big difference between the modules of 533 Mhz and 667 Mhz modules 667 Mhz turns a little faster but you won't see everything boosts performance

  • Question about the upgrade memory for my Satellite M40-307

Sorry for the newbie question. But if I have 512 MB of memory for the time being, what are my upgrade options?

Do I have to buy pairs of memory? So I can or buy 2 x 1 GB = 2 GB, or 2 x 512 MB = 1 GB + 512 existing. Or can I say just buy a single 512 MB or 1 GB chip?

Since no one wants to answer:
    1. check if your laptop supports Dual Channel Ram (it should be, but just see the manual to be sure)
    2. knowledge of what type of RAM you have. This will add or remove a possibility of upgrade

The thing with Dual Channel is, that you have the best performance if you use 2 RAM of the same type (really of the same type: company, size...)
    you could:
    3. Add a 512 MB of RAM of the same type you have
3 b. buy 2 pieces of new RAM of the same type (1 GB + 1 GB, or 2 + 2 GB) and do not forget that your laptop supports this quantity (once again: manual to check)

You will also find in the manual, if your computer supports DDR or same DDR2 RAM (faster)

If you have lost your manual, you can download it here on the toshiba Web page

    I hope I could help a little.

  • Upgrades memory for Satellite 1800 412

    HI -.

I have a 1800-412 Satellite which becomes very slow so I intend to upgrade the memory. I've been hunting around a few different sites to see what I can buy, and there seem to be differing opinions whose memory actually fits my laptop:

Site Web of Kingston said that I'm going to need their KTT-SO100/256
.. .but another site suggested the KTT-S0815/256

Both websites claim that this is the chip that works.

I have also looked on the Toshiba site and found the part PA3069U - 1 M 25 number is the one I'm looking for, but the chips I found for sale online recommended for my laptop have different numbers for Toshiba...

    Help! I'm confused!
What exactly should I buy? There are actually several different chips that work or are some of these sites try to sell me a bad?

    Thanks for your help,

    Morag

    Hello

I found the information that your device can handle with 1 024 MB max memory compatible Module is PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25). This module has been tested and it will be recognized correctly.

I recommend you to use the right and tested a title less expensive but maybe not tested one.

After that I tried to replace the original memory in the computer the hard drive also failed to recognize that and laptop computer were to restore to factory settings before windows would load again.

Can anyone tell me what type of memory should I install? Y at - it Toshiba specific memory that must be installed in the system? And finally, can I just pick this of any toshiba dealer?

    Hello

Without much written, I can post modules compatible memory for your laptop model:
    PA3499U - 1 M 25 (Kit of memory 256 Mo DDR2-667)
    PA3511U - 1 M 51 (Kit of memory 512 MB DDR2-667)

    512 MB DDR2-533 PA3412U - 2 M (51)
    1 GB OF DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G)

Your laptop can handle with 4 GB RAM max. If you want to order memory simply use PAxxx part number.

    Bye and good luck!

    thanx

    Mike

    Hey Buddy,

Can you please tell us what Satellite you have exactly?

I ask this question because I also have laptop Satellite L: Satellite L300. The more manual, you will find information about RAM upgrade and photo live what you have to remove and other important information.
    Check it!

Theoretically you can buy each manufacturing modules but I recommend high quality of Kingston for example modules. I still only good experience with these modules.

  • Pavilion p6608f: upgrade memory for p6608f

Hello, my Pavilion p6608f came with 4 GB of RAM. I want to upgrade. By HP features, the motherboard is a MSI ms-7613 and it should support up to 16 GB of RAM (4 x 4 GB DIMMS). I bought 4 DIMM which seem to fit specifications, but the computer wouldn't POST after installation. I tried reseating the DIMMs, but no luck. My hypothesis is that the memory is not compatible.  I'm unable to find good information on the compatible memory for this computer on the site of Kingston, MSI site, or the site of HP. (Any ideas on one) why the memory I bought is not compatible and b) how to find compatible memory?

    Thank you.

Saw that Crucial guarantees their recommendations, I'd go with it.  You may contact their Customer Service to see what they have to say if you are still skeptical.  I have recommended Crucial memory for years without reports of incorrect memory being received.

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite Pro L20 problem

    I buy a 1 GB, 200-pin SODIMM crucial (marked on the module as 1 GB 2Rx16 PC2-4200 s-444-12-A0) and added to the existing module 256 MB (marked as 1Rx16 256 MB PC2 4200 s-444-12-C3)

I can't get the 1 GB module memory I bought the work with the existing 256 MB module. The PC will recognize the 256 MB module in each slot and it will also recognize 1 GB memory module in the other location. However, when both modules are installed the PC doesn't recognize any order they are installed in the module 1 GB. The essential tool memory online seems to think that a slot is empty when it scans the laptop, even if both slots are filled. The BIOS also reports that only 1 GB is present when both modules are mounted.

No idea how I can get the two recognized modules?

    John

    Hello John

I assume that there is a compatibility issue. If possible, try to get the 1 GB of Kingston RAM module or module recommended by Toshiba.

If you have time take a look here

By the way: 1 GB of RAM is sufficient for your laptop L20. In my opinion with 1 GB of RAM, you can work on this model of laptop.

  • Upgrade memory for Tecra A5

Hello, if anyone can help, I would be very grateful.

I have a Tecra A5 that I bought a few years ago and recently it has become quite slow. On the suggestion of a colleague, I rebooted the machine, remove a lot of unused programs and it seems to have improved.

However, I would like to upgrade the RAM. Currently, the task manager tells me I have 1 GB of available, and I read that the Tecra A5 can handle 2 GB, which seems likely to boost performance.

However, looking at the manual and at the bottom of the laptop, it only seems to be a slot to expand memory. Looking at websites selling RAM upgrades, there only seems to be 128, 256, 512 and 1024 MB memory upgrades.

Here's the question. Should I buy two memory upgrades 1 GB (and if so, where did I put the other?)

I have a feeling that when I bought the laptop, the seller has provided two upgrades memory of 512 MB.

Thanks for any advice on this.

You are right. Your Tecra can be upgraded up to 2 GB. Compatible RAM module has PA3313U-2M1G part number. Are you a location is available downstairs?
This old Tecra is unknown to me, but what I do know, is that all laptops with a RAM slot at the bottom have an another slot memory under the keyboard.

If you want to have full access to this slot machine, you must remove the keyboard.

  • upgrade memory for envy quad 15 t-j100

I'm lookin to upgrade the memory of my laptop and apologies if this has already been resolved, I tried to look through the forum.  I have an Envy 15 t-j100 Quad with the 4700mq processor.  The vehicle currently has a single 8 GB 1600 mhz, cl11, 1.35v sitck.  I thought to upgrade to 16 gb 1866 MHz cl10, 1.35v.  Here is a link  That, or 16 GB 1600 mhz cl9, 1.135v.  The 2nd link

My main question is: this upgrade would be compatible?

It would be the first time that I am trying to upgrade the memory and never changed anything about it either in the bios before (just learned about xmp profiles the other day).  It is my understanding that the bios are locked anyway to prevent any form of manipulation of xmp.  Would it cause problems if mhz or case values are different from the memory of the stock?  And which expect the extent of performance without being able to access the xmp profile settings?

Thank you, and other suggestions are very appreciated.

Auto-detect and configure the BIOS but within the limits of the system. Yes, you're understanding just what I say. Even if you put the faster memory or lower latency, if it works at all downclock motherboard will it. What you put in, install identical modules. You will get on a 10% increase the speed of im with dual channel memory and you have only two channels if you have 2 identical bars. So if you add another gig DDR3-1600 8 SO-DIMM you will speed up memory and more access to get more memory for multitasking, etc.. This is the page for Kingston:

    http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/Default.aspx?DeviceType=3&Mfr=HEW&Line=ENVY%20Notebook&Model=86577&Description=Kingston_System_Specific_Memory_for_HEW_ENVY_Notebook_HP/Compaq_-_ENVY_Notebook_15t-j100

You have an SSD drive? I see that the system can come with a 5400 RPM or hybrid disk 5400 RPM and that is where the bottleneck. If you install an SSD you will think that you have upgraded the CPU and memory and died and ascended to heaven. If you need help with this post back. It is not cheap but you looked already expensive memory.

    Hi friends,
I have a system of 7663-xxx T61, with 1 GB PC2-5300 667 MHz RAM. My Front Side Bus 800 MHz (I think!), software Everest says my memory controller is capable, dual channel and ~ 85% physical RAM use. I have a nVidia Quadro NVS 140 M 128 MB graphics card, but Everest reports 512 MB?

I want to update my RAM and buy some online.
one) should I buy a similar 2 GB RAM PC2 - 5300 for my system performance, running Windows XP 32-bit? If so, should I buy Lenovo RAM only, for the maintenance of my 3 years warranty intact?

Will assume the ROM ThinkPad and Lenovo ThinkPad and Lenovo warranty portable systems limited

    (b) what are the alternatives best for good quality, reliable laptop computer memory, not to mention that Lenovo?
    (c) wouldn't it be better if I'm able to buy RAM that can match my FSB? This will have a performance advantage? Do these similar exist FSB RAM speed?
Please suggest manufacturers of memory superior, as appropriate.
I couldn't find any Lenovo 800 MHz memory on their Web site.

Kindly help me to solve my problem to upgrade memory.

I'm a mechanical engineering student, so I have not any idea of FSB and similar, so I ask the scholars members to throw light on this area.

    YOU Hamburg, Germany

Honestly, you'll be fine with either / or. I've not had a bad experience with Samsung never, if I had to choose I'd give it a very slight preference based on prior use.

I doubt that you (or me) would be able to tell the difference between two identical machines, execution of memory with different CLs...

    I hope this helps.
