Upgrade of RAM on my Satellite M40x-231

I want to update my RAM by adding another 1 GB. I can't find the good memory for my portable M40X-231(Model PSM4XE-03D01WDU) model.

When I search the site of Kingston he tells me that I need part number. KT3311A / 1 G... However, the image of this model is incorrect (location location is at the centre of the chip). I found that KT3311A - 1 G - AA seems to be the right part (the Guide slot is between 40 and 42 pins) but it is not available in the Kingston brand. I found it in other brands, but they are not recommended by Toshiba.

Can someone tell what the right is RAM for me please?

According to Toshiba specification compatible RAM modules for your model are:
PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

The listed modules are tested and should work correctly.

  • Sam L20-101 or satellite M40X-231? Need your opinion

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop and I hesitate between the Satellite L20-101 and Satellite M40X-231. I am aware of the differences and would like to hear user experiences.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Well, I think, between these two units, there is no major differences. Both units have a size of drive HARD and similar memory. Only the graphics card has other performance. The L20 has a shared memory graphics card and the M40X has a graphics card with the chip memory own 64 MB. In this case, if you need this device for applications of high-performance graphics (games), I'd buy the M40X. Moreover, I like the nice design of M40X. She very nice unit s :)

  • Upgrade of RAM for a Satellite A100-847

I want to upgrade the RAM for my A100-847 of my current 512 MB by adding another module for 512 MB, but I face a problem of compatibility because looking at the manual only compatible modules is as follows:
    256 MB: PA3389U - 1 M 25
    512 MB: PA3412U - 1 M 51
    1 GB: PA3411U-1M1G
I tried to look for a module with these codes, but I have found none in Romania. I could find a module of another manufacturer with the same specifications, but I don't know if these would work properly.
    So I need some advice.

    Thank you

    Bobby

    Hello

the manufacturer that you saw? Will they have the same characteristics, then they should go up. The best decision would be to take some kingston or the essential modules. They have been tested to work well with toshibas, just so consider buy some kingstons with the specifications of the original toshiba modules and have fun with them.

In the case of some other question just ask.

  • Upgrade of RAM video on Satellite C660/C660D

    HY,

Stayes manual that I can improve my video memory dedicated, up to 4 GB, but I can't find this option in Advanced Option or in the Bios, I have a Satellite C660/C660D.

Furthermore, my CPU is supporting 16 GB and my motherboard also, why can't I put on 16?, because in the manual it says that 8!

I don't know what model you have exactly, but video Ram cannot be upgraded directly. All you can do is upgrade RAM. With more RAM, more memory will be used for graphical operations.

The second slot should be placed at the bottom of the unit.
    Please check this thread:

  • Upgrade of RAM in my Satellite Pro A100 (PSAA3E) was not recognized.

    I have a Pro A100 (PSAA3E) with only 512 MB of RAM.

I added another identical stick but only 1 has been recognized.
Each stick is recognised individually in each slot, but never as a 1 GB together. Thus, the two sticks are ok and two slots are okay!

How can I remedy so that both are recognized?

Did you use one that is recommended by Toshiba?
Seems the two modules aren't compatible together hmmm seems very strange.

How you did upgrade the memory?
You must disconnect all cables and remove the battery. Then install the memory modules and enter the BIOS. There, you should check if the memory has been increased and set the default BIOS. Don t forget to safe settings!

    Good luck

I want to upgrade RAM of the Mod: SP4310 and SP4340.

The Toshiba manual for 4300 series says:
Mem Max 567 MB with two 256 MB modules.

Sites WWW in Kingston and transcend the say:
Mem Max 320 MB with two 128 MB modules
    (144 pin SODIMM PC100)

    What information is correct?
    Best regards, Hans

    Hello Hans,.

The information that I was able to get show that the series 4300 has 64 MB of RAM non-removable and two expansion slots whish can each take a 128 MB RAM module, which gives a total of 320 MB.

    Kind regards
