Upgrade of SBS 2011 SharePoint database

Hello

I have a pop up on databases SharePoint SBS should be upgraded by PSConfig.  I have run the PSConfig command to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2580174 and he was properly executed.  I always get the popup.  He said: I cannot ignore the popup if I ran the upgrade already, but my clients are getting frustrated to hit OK every reboot.

Any suggestions to disable popups?

  • Help with Vmware Fusion & SBS 2011 Essentials; best practices

    Hi all

Looking for a little help setting up a virtual machine on a Mac Pro to use as a server in a small business.

We currently have an office of 6 users, all but one of which are windows users (XP and 7, although all soon to be upgraded to 7). Also, we have a Server SBS 2003 and until recently used it for storage of files, a database principal, Exchange and vpn. The server hardware has become very noisy to the point of this embarrassing other users in the room I'm looking to upgrade options.

The machine I use now is a 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon with 10 GB of RAM and I'm looking for this move with the to use with the server I'll be swapping to a MBP 17 ". I installed a trial version of SBS 2011 Essentials on it and have successfully installed the main and used database from a client machine so I'm glad that everything will work. We went from the e-mail Exchange on Gmail, which is why Essentials is good enough for me.

I'm stuck now with what to know how to set up the machine to integrate properly. I have a 250 GB boot currently installed with Snow Leopard disk and that you have ordered 2 x 1.5Tb hard drives I had planned mirror in OS X using disk utility. The plan was part of the 250 GB boot drive partition (say 100 GB) to use as a separate partiton on which to store virtual machines. The record 1.5 to had to be kept separate and used as a data reader.

I'm not sure now, that's how all of them work with SBS 2011? Can I move forward as expected and share the drives through OS X (SL or Lion server) as a network share? If so, how it plays with windows clients? Can I use AD control connections or I end with a mixture of OD and AD (which would be an argument)

Or should I install SBS 2011 on the disks of 1,5 to, spend the entire disk to SBS 2011 and treat sharing here?

By train to these things is not a problem, it's just trying to understand what is the best solution for day-to-day management and backup.

    Thanks in advance.

Give points to Woody, by all means!  Sorry that SBS isn't my area, but if you want to watch using scripts to control your virtual machine, you can find these useful URLS:

    and

Of course, you could also turn on the accessibility of Mac (System Preferences > universal access > enable access for assistive devices and use AppleScript or other Mac automation technologies, such as ATOMac (https://github.com/pyatom/pyatom).)

  • Should I SBS 2011 Standard and SBS 2011 Premium Add on?

I am currently the cost of the replacement of our old server (SBS 2003).

It is identified what it takes 2 servers - the main server and a database to run on the SQL database server.

However I buy SBS 2011 Standard and SBS 2011 Premium add-on?

Premium add-on contains SBS 2011 Standard? If so only can I buy Premium add-on pack and install Standard on the main server and add on (SQL Server, etc.) on the database server?

  • backup PC very slow sbs 2011 essentials customer

I just upgraded from WHS 1 to SBS 2011 Essentials and the initial backup for my main pc was about 2-3 hours with WHS. It took 14 hours on SBS using the same exact pc material. What the heck is upward. It will take long to save machines? I do not see this manipulation the full 25 pcs. No idea why the brutally slow backup? All material is the same (client and server) so this isn't the issue. It seems that MS has done something wrong with the backup software...

  • SBS 2011 DVD wouldn't work, cannot restore.

I recently had a scare at the restoration of SBS 2011.

Basically, I had a problem where I couldn't boot into windows server 2008.  I do daily backups of windows, so I thought no worries, I will simply bring until yesterday.  I started on Windows SBS 2011 DVD I used to install it and click on restore and it told me that it wasn't the right version for the restoration, even if it's the CD that I used to install it (I upgraded service pack for installation).

Basically I could not access the restorations on my backup drive because he told me that it wasn't the same version of windows.

How can I fix this is do not have another DVD and windows do not allow me to create a restore in WIndows 2008 server startup disk, as they now rely soly on the installation DVD?

Part of the problem may be the server that is installed was a server Fujitsu requiring the installation of sbs in a quite unique way which was a pain, but I guess only on that.

    Please help!

    Of OWC SSD: OWC SSD

I upgraded my Early 2011 13 inch Macbook Pro using a SSD Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB and I've seen a dramatic speed increase.

Once you decide on a SSD, I suggest that you install it in an external enclosure from OWC enclosure or with a USB to SATA adapter SATA USB adapter and connect to your MBP via USB.

Open disk utility > delete and format the SSD for Mac OS extended (journaled) and a GUID partition.

Then, use a third party application like Carbon Copy Cloner Carbon Copy Cloner (not free, but worth the price) or Super Duper to copy all data from the HARD drive internal as well as the recovery partition.

The clone will be an exact copy of your hard drive and it will be bootable.

Start the MBP with the OPTION key (Startup Manager) key and select the new SSD. How to choose a disk to boot your Mac.

If it starts the MBP, proceed to the physical interchange of disks.

Now that you have your open computer you can also upgrade the memory. It is very easy.

I saved the Win 8 drivers before reformat the drive, but they do not work for SBS.

    Hello:

Unfortunately, I don't think that you will find the drivers for this operating system - even from the mfr websites.

I just checked the Realtek Web site for the drivers for the ethernet controller, and there aren't any.

They have Windows 2008 server, but not 2011.
