I recently did an upgrade of the processor an AMDathlon 64 38000 + 2.40 GHZ Core of AMD 64 x 2 dual 3.0 GHZ computer does not seem to be faster wehat I started with vista windows still really slow charge. What can I check to get more speed of this machine?

Thank you

It may be possible to cross-flash a BIOS, but there are 99% chance that you will turn the PC into a door stop.  Build / buy another unit if the current PC does not meet your needs.

  • 2nd new power will not work. I need to change jumpers MB or something? (Presario sr511onx)

Just installed a CoolerMaster 500w (RS-500-PCAR/P-03), only to have the rotation of the fan cpu for a second, then nothing.

A few days ago I tried with a PS I had fired a new case in years. The blue led fan (in the FP) turned on for a second and then more nothing. (I kind of thought he had been thrown out a bit in recent years and was a cheapy anyway), so I put the PS original back in and ordered the CoolerMaster.

Original PS works fine, but I need more power for a PCI-e video card.

Are their MB jumpers that need to be changed or something? What Miss me?

The original PS has a 20 mb, just like the CoolerMaster connector, but the CM has the additional 4 available.

    Are they necessary?

Presario (sr511onx) has the original configuration (ram / cpu, etc), except:

Installed Win - XP Pro instead of original Vista

Added the: 1 PCI Sound Card (SB Audigy Gamer II)

1 card PCI Video, (NVidia 1 gig)

    1 hard disk

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,

    Thank you.

  • Compaq Presario C731TU: RAM and CPU max UPGRADE Presario C731tu chipset GLS960 cpusocket PPGA478 RAM and CPU max UPGRADE

    Hi all!

I have a Compaq Presario C731TU I absolutely need to upgrade its opportunities top of page. I discovered that he could run processor family Intel core 2 duo, and celeron family, that sounds really good!

Then consulted taken PPGA478 processors on the site of intel with their processor feature filter (http://ark.intel.com/search/advanced?s=t&FamilyText=Legacy%20Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A22%20Processo...)   the best option seems to be Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9500 (2.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 6 MB Cache).

    My question is:

Is there another cpu option better? Inside of a forum, I read that it can withstand up to Intel C2D T9xxx family but after T9500 (e.g. T9600 or T9900) taking turns into PGA478 and not PPGA478. What is the difference between PPGA478 and PGA478? are they the same or not?

Are there limits on the CPU with the BIOS upgrade? (mine is upgrated to F34 which should be the latest version)

About RAM: this laptop should work max 2 GB of ram but in fact I use it with 3 GB of ram (with these config.: 1 GB on the inner slot and 2 GB on the external, the inverse solution does not work, can not guess why), but someone "found a way" to use the 2 banks of 2 GB 4 GB total (and if according with this http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/specupdate/316274.pdf - pag. 19 - should be quite possible) , what ram 2x2gb modules can be accepted if? Help me = S

Thank you very much in advance!

I opened the laptop and the chipset inside the computer, wirtten there is an INTEL GL 960 who should manage only 553 mhz FSB... But... I installed inside, as the core 2 duo t9300, which has 800 Mhz FSB and it is fully functional in frequency from 800 Mhz to FSB. Really good news =)

AIDA 64 tool (former Everest) shows the FSB of GL960 chipset can run on 533, 667 and 800 Mhz frequency.

    OPERATING SYSTEM:

    Win7 Pro SP1 x 64

    -----------------------------------------------------

    Here goes...

After reading page 1 of the above maintenance manual, it seems that I could improve my laptop for the P8700 (SLGFE) CPU.
After trying 3 processors from eBay - no work!  All were sold as work - surely they can't all be losers!

Laptop updated from the BIOS F.8 F.23 before the first attempt to upgrade and confirmed in Windows.

3 x P8700 inserted and reassembled, powers mobile place very well but don't post.

PC starts and works very well with old CPU then reinserted.

During the inspection of the old CPU - Celeron - 900 (SLGLQ), it seems that it is not in the maintenance manual either.
I can't find the motherboard jumpers or dip switches, so that rules out...

    What I'm missing here?

Should I try to acquire the T6600 CPU because I know as work processors 800 MHz bus or establishing a hypothesis too?

    I found this thread:

I'm looking to upgrade the processor in this laptop as the base processor (the processor Intel Celeron 900 2.2GHz) is simply not enough for my needs.  I did my own research and I found (to be confirmed) this list of compatible processors purportedly in the service manual for my laptop. ______________________________________________________________________

Apparently, all of the aforementioned processors are compatible with my system, but some are only compatible with some models (model i.e. 1.1 and 1.2).  How can I determine which model I have and what processor will give me the best output for my money?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated!

It may "work", but as I said the GL40 simply has no circuits to take full advantage of the advanced features of the high range processors. Also no he don't mention not all i-series processors in the list. They are all Core 2 Duo T4200 except. Your Celeron 900 is one heart. Even a Pentium dual as say the T4200 will be much better and will be fully compatible with the GL40 chipset and very cheap to start.

    Manual:

Okay, well just choose a 250 GB (or more) 2.5 SATA HDD and you'll be set.

Once installed, you need to install Windows via the HP recovery media or your own if installation media you have something else in mind.

Would also like to spend my hard drive, current drive is a seagate momentus 80 GB ST980821AS so a SATA hard drive but don't know if it's 300 SATA or SATA 150. All of the recommendations. I know that the momentus 300 can be set to 159 but also note your recommendations on replacement discs. Looking West scorpion digital 320

This eBay seller says they have for the C500 Lightscribe discs:

    eBay

I've never really been a fan of Lightscribe and never met anyone who use it extensively. Label burning is very slow and the media are still expensive. You can get a compatible player for less money that these people pose.

In regards to the hard drive, it doesn't really matter if you are using a SATA-150 or SATA-300, either will work. The WD Scorpio Blue 320 GB is a good choice. Problems have been reported with 500 gig drives and 7200 RPM drives so stick with a 320 GB 5400 RPM drive max compatibility.

If you go into the power settings and see "Balanced" in the list of available power plans, then cool and quiet is enabled. Essentially, it is built into Vista and Vista automatically takes advantage of the technology when it is available.

By default, HP has enabled in the BIOS and I don't think it can be turned on or turn off (all or most consumer desktop PC).

  • 500 - 81ea: create recovery media after upgrade to windows 10

I created a USB recovery when I used my PC (using the 8.1 window)

I had a time to use it to perform a destructive restore but then had to wait for all the upgrades automatically install to get me back to where I was and of course all my other software such as iTunes and music, photos, etc.  Checking to see if I can upgrade to windows 10 I was informed that my windows was not up to date and that I didn't know the logo windows at the bottom right of the screen. I have now been in the screen of windows update and installed quite a few updates and now have the upgrade of windows application.  My question is if I upgrade to windows 10 and then must perform a full recovery can I do new media of recovery or I'll have to go back to windows 8.1 using my existing media and then updateHP software and windows 8.1 and upgrade to windows 10 and the free update will be always available or is there a way I can create new media recovery to allow me to recover Windows 10 OR an altrnative goes back to the creation of a backup drive on an external hard drive and a way to get this image on my HDD internal. OR to simply stick with windows 8.1 and hope, that it is taken in charge as long as XP was.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP

    JIMBO

    Hello

First things first. Don't forget that your USB stick recovery is the HP external recovery media and not just another type of recovery image. Back up your data. Check that your PC is supported by HP for Windows 10 and that your PC meets the requirements of Windows 10. If so, then be sure your Windows 8.1 system is fully patched and up-to-date with Windows and HP implemented to date.  When you make an in place upgrade W10, W10 process will have a roll back feature that will be available in case you are not happy with the W10.  I made a couple of back roller and the process was pretty quick.

  • motherboard ms7184 upgraded to windows 8

    Hello

thought I would try the upgrade from my old XP system directly to Windows 8. The Windows utility checks if the system is suitable for the upgrade gave a positive result. So far so good. I then tried to install it. The o/s seemed to download and install ok, but when the first restart was necessary during the upgrade, restart, Windows 8, hung on the download page. I picked up then go back to XP.

I have Acronis like the back up and restore s/w and have the ability to run Acronis during the operating system boot sequence. I don't see why this may have an impact on the installation of Windows 8, but can be a problem.

Is there any ideas for a fix or otherwise, I would appreciate them. Thank you.

    Hello

I have now successfully upgraded to W8. I re-tried the upgrade and this process worked. The only thing I could think who can influence the migration (W8 bought online a few months ago a download process allowing to install - no disks) was to uninstall Acronis functionality that allowed a managed Acronis Recovery when starting. What I thought, may hinder the system restarts during the installation of W8 causing it to hang. Acronis is my back to the top and recovery s / w good it is too.

I can close this thread now.
