The better question is whether or not your computer accepts more than 2 GB of memory, and if so, what memory support or accept.  Once you have an answer to this question then you need determine if the additional memory will help.  Which would be determined by looking at the performance of the system in system monitoring tools and watching low available memory and/or high swap file usage.

  • upgrading ram in the laptop of HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO

is it possible to upgrade my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB of ram in the laptop of HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO?

    Hey ranjith1992,

The maximum amount of RAM supported your model is 8GBs. The unit has 2 DIMM slots, so you need to get the memory 2 x 4 GB DDR3 modules. Take a look inside the machine to see how fast the 2 GB that you are there (for example, 1066 MHz) and buy 4 GB modules that match.

Here are some photos/instructions to help you get started: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02829479.pdf

Page 48 lists the tested/compatible memory modules and shows you how even to yourself! Additionally, make sure that you are using a 64-bit operating system in order to fully use the 8GBs - a 32 bit OS will see 4GBs.

  • HP 15-r237ni (N8J06EA): upgrade RAM on HP laptop - 15-r237ni (N8J06EA)

    Hi all

I am looking to buy this laptop and I would like to know the maximum number of available on the laptop RAM slots.

It seems that this model is only sold in EMEA, but details on the SO-DIMM type and maximum memory are not available on the official page of the HP product.

My laptop is a Compaq 610 which I've upgraded to 4 GB of RAM when I bought it in 2009, but it is not good enough for my tasks and has many problems that are expensive to repair (screen, battery, etc.).

I have found a good deal on the HP laptop - 15-r237ni (N8J06EA) online, but would want sustainable by upgrading to 16 GB of RAM - if anyone knows if this is possible?

    Thanks in advance!

If you buy a model with a processor Intel (i3, i5, i7) there will be two slots and will be expandable to 16 GB. What does remove the original strips install two 8 GB memory compatible modules

Models with other processors have a location for unique customer accessible/upgradable memory module.

  • Laptop HP 2000z: upgrade RAM on HP laptop 2000z

    Hello

I recently bought a key of 8 GB of RAM DDR3 PC3-12800 laptop running 64-bit Windows 8.1.  It came with a 2 GB key at the retailer.  I tried running with just 8 GB key into the two slots, but the system wouldn't start.  However, when I re-installed the native 2 GB key in slot 1 and installed 8 GB stick in slot 2, the system starts and shows that I have 10 GB of RAM with 9.60 GB of usable RAM.  Is - this common with HPs?  I was under the impression that the maximum RAM that would support my model was 8 GB of RAM. Anyone had this happen?

    Thank you

    Update:

I opted to replace the stick 8 GB with a stick of 4 GB to a lower megahertz and my laptop has accepted and running smoothly. The 8 GB stick was about 1 600 megahertz and it seems the higher megahertz were too much for my laptop run and finally caused the problems I was experiencing.

  • Is - it possible/safe upgrade HP 355 G2 laptop with SSD?

I would like to know if it is possible and safe install a common SATA SSD (Crucial/Samsung etc.) in the laptop HP 355 G2?

    Yes.

It is strongly recommended that you install one that is 160 GB or more. The capacity of 160 GB is the minimum capacity required for the recovery media to use on the SSD.

I created a sticky that gives more details and different methods to achieve this. My preference is the method of cloning with a sata to usb cable.

I'll change this option to include the link to the post-it.

  • Can I upgrade G1 640 HP laptop with a flash card Cache mSATA

I see that there is a slot on the machine near the slot of the wireless card, which seems to be for mSATA card. Is it possible to add a 32 GB card and if so how can I install and configure it.  All directions with photos if possible appreciated.

    Anil.

    128 Go SSD mSATA-3 735595-001

32 GB mSATA Flash hiding SSD 735594-001

This location is for WWAN or mSATA.

If it did not come with the installed WWAN and there is no extra wire for the WWAN then you should be able to install the mSATA.

It's the number of the product you need: F9G45EA #ABZ.

    Thank you very much.

    Best,

It is the 15-n233sl model and the plug you have 6 GB. See page 42 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

The manual indicates that it takes up to 12 GB which is a 4 GB and 8 GB module to the module but regularly, users have reported success with 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. For most of the users 8 GB is a lot and it would mean just remove the module from 2 gig you have now and its replacement by a 4 GB. What that you choose to do I would have 2 modules size even for enable support dual channel. 8 concerts running dual channel is likely to be just as good as 12 concerts running in single channel due to incompatible modules.
