Upgrade to Firefox 13.0.1 failed

Hello
I tried to update to Firefox 11.0.1 to 13.0.1. After downloading, when he asked to restart, the computer never shutdown properly. I had to cold start. When I try to continue the upgrade process, it takes over again where it asks to restart the computer, so he is stuck in a loop. How can it be upgraded complete successfully?

It should never be necessary to restart the computer to update Firefox.

If necessary then you probably have some security software that is using or the protection of the files in the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) changes.

Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) program to ensure that all the files are deleted.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible.

  • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will also lose your personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Impossible to update Norton Toolbar after upgrade to Firefox 39.0

Running Windows 7 and Norton Security with backup. Upgrade to Firefox 39.0. Notice that Norton toolbar would be handicapped because is is not compatible. By announcement of Norton, a patch was released that would update the Norton toolbar to a compatible version. Just need to run Norton LIVE UPDATE and reboot several times. Tried to update by these instructions and still Norton toolbar has not been updated to compatible version. The only other suggestion by other users is to uninstall Norton Security with backup and reinstall. • I use an eeePC900 with Linux OS. I can't upgrade my Firefox 12.0 to a newer version. I downloadec the new version, but I can not open

I can't update my Firefox 12.0. I keep seeing messages that say my system is outdated and vulnerable to attacks. I don't know much about the right way to download and open things. Could you please give me detailed instructions on how to upgrade my Firefox 12.0 to a newer version.

These computers usually use Xandros, a linux version is more actively developed. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is a good way to update Firefox on these machines. I suggest that you install a new version of linux (Ubuntu is very popular and easy to use). It's a bit beyond the scope of this proceeding, however, I suggest looking on a few linux forums. They can help you find a version of linux that is more modern, faster and more secure and help you with the installation and set up. You will be able to use the most recent Firefox at this point here, your OS will be updated and faster.

  • After the upgrade to Firefox 36.0.4, it automatically installed noscript

After the upgrade to Firefox 36.0.4, it removes all my existing extension of the add-on.
In addition, 'noscript' has been installed automatically, and there is no way to remove it.
The add-on "noscript" does not appear in one of the extension add-on for me disable/remove it.

I tried to add some of the add-on noscript for the module additional noscript will appear in the
Firefox extension page so that I could remove it, but does not remove the
original NoScript that comes with Firefox 36.0.4

If all goes well, there is a way for the user to remove this and is not part of Firefox 36.0.4.
At least allow the user the options of its use, or delete it.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

  • Upgrade to Firefox 34.0 (linux) has disabled the search bar; How to fix without reset?

After the upgrade to Firefox 34.0 Firefox 33.2.2 (?) I noticed that the search bar it did not display my search engines. Search engines still exist in the folder but are not visible. However, typing a word in the search bar causes a section of my display flashes all by pressing "enter" will correctly look for the word on Wikipedia, my first search engine. Unfortunately for me, by the time I typed this search bar seems to work fine now. Thus, in addition to a late evening, what the hell just happened, and will this crawling bug returns with each update? What is a linux question (IE. 5.3.3 puppy)?

34 Firefox has a whole new search bar and associated Options tab.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/search-bar-add-change-manage-search-engines-Firefox

You can return to the former regime of the search with this bar.
Open Subject: config (typed in the address bar) and turn this false preference
    browser.search.showOneOffButtons
    Then restart Firefox.

  • After installation or upgrade to Firefox 31, starting Firefox does not display the home page, personalize displays a blank page and the radio button does not work

I am the admin of Windows for a University Department and install PC with Firefox all the time. This problem does not occur with every PC I would maintain, only a selection bit (model different laptops with Windows and update 1 8.1.) Until today, it has happened with the new user (with admin rights) accounts that I place on laptops for our staff. Today, this happened with the account administrator while setting up a new laptop. In all cases so far, I have install Windows from a registered image that was created by using sysprep.

I tried many suggestions to reset Firefox, removing the profile of Firefox users, removing the Windows profile users, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, uninstall/reinstall of Firefox and the latest Java, but nothing helped. After uninstalling, I run an application to delete the caches and temporary files and even remove manually the keys to register HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Mozilla. I restart and make sure that the installation folder is deleted after uninstalling.

Results are the same: after installing Firefox 31, the initial settings for migration, IE or Chrome pop up and after having clicked on the button finish, Firefox starts but does not display the home page of the new user, only a blank page. By clicking on the Options (3 bars) button does nothing. Right click in the appropriate box, the shortcut menu appears, so I can choose to customize, but which opens another tab with subject: Customize the URL and the page is blank. In the right click context menu, I can activate the menu bar and get options from that.

My last attempt helped a little. I uninstalled Firefox 31, cleaned, removed the profile user Firefox, rebooted and then installed Firefox 30. Initial start-up runs and tells me that I'm not up-to-date and the works of button Options. But I can't always customize.

Then I upgraded to Firefox 31, but then it's back to no start page, no options button and no customization. I can go down to 30 and get customize practically works again.

Addon only is for McAfee Scriptscan to Firefox 15.1.0, just after installation is disabled.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
