Upgrade to Microsoft 2010 and have now lost all my Outlook Express emails!
Hello
Yesterday, I upgraded my pc from 2007 to 2010 from microsoft, I had no idea that outlook express is no longer taken in charge & a so don't had not saved anything express before the upgrade.
I used two Outlook + outlook express to run 2 separate email accounts. How Outlook works well and moved all my old mails/contacts. Express however is not found, I can't open it.
I have installation the other account on the new perspectives, he transferred the emails from the last 30 days, which lie on the mail server, but nothing beyond that, plus all of my files are missing & what is the most important!
Please help me, I got hundreds of emails that are very important to me and I am in despair that they have all been lost.
Thank you, Emma
If you use Windows XP (which I assume you're OE does not work on any latest system) then by installing Office does NOT remove Outlook Express.
He can't because Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer, which is part of Windows.
I think that Outlook has replced just the icon of EO for mail.
Do a search for msimn.exe
You should find it in c:\program files\outlook express.
Then you can add back a shortcut on your desktop.

My computer crashed (blue screen) and when it restarted a box came asking me to update Firefox. I clicked on OK (thought he was just trying to restore the session) and I have now lost all my favorites, passwords registered etc. There is no 'old Firefox data' folder anywhere on my system - help! is there a way I can get it all back without doing a system restore? I am running Windows 7.
Hi, you can try it for only bookmarks: first open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.
If not and the other favorites, please see.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

While trying to save a profile, I accidentally restored an ancient. Now, I can't access the emails and settings. Are they stored somewhere, or completely deleted when you restore a profile?
When you replace one file with another, what happens usually when an old profile is restored (especially when accounts are the same). Then, you have replaced your mail with another version. You olny option are your personal backups, Thunderbird stores no information about the 'cloud '.

I run on XP if upgrading to Windows 7 I will lose all my Outlook Express emails?
You can meet me at
E-mail address is removed from the privacy * and it would be helpful I would really stay upgarde but have too many important emails and I don't want to lose the addresses
Well Yes. Because windows 7 does not use OE. It is not an e-mail program. So, if you wish, you can save them. And if you upgrade to 64-bit, you will need to do a clean install

installed my windows 7 Home Premium on a new hard drive, but it says my key is invalid. I bought this copy of the microsoft store and have retained the email with the key.
To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.
-* in your own thread *, pleaseWhat is an upgrade?
If so, you must install and activate a qualifying operating system before you perform the upgrade.
For which version and edition of Windows the computer is allowed according to the COA sticker on the case?

has anyone who downloaded microsoft security and have it ruin their screen
has anyone who downloaded microsoft security and have it ruin their screen
Hello
There are a few things you can try:
Change the resolution of the screen;
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution
If that fixed it, go to the website of your computer manufacturer > drivers download Section > then key in your computer model number > find your operating system > find two graphics / video or from the Chipset drivers and download and install.
Then try to change the screen resolution.
Or do a restore of the system before it is passed (which will also remove MSE!).

Restored Firefox with extensions disabled. Have I lost all my extensions?
So I was testing my Firefox with extensions disabled when I clicked on 'Restore Firefox' by mistake. Have I lost all my extensions because of this? Apparently I still have my passwords, history and even cookies, but I got a lot of extensions that are now gone.
Is it possible to recover?
The extensions are removed during the update. Check the 'old data Firefox' that has been placed on the desktop.
More information about the update is here.

Original title: outlook express
Whenever I restart my computer, my account to outlook express email is going to remove my itself. So I have to configure an e-mail account again when using outlook express, please tell me how to solve this problem.
Hello
1. is this problem limited to this user account?
2. have you made changes on the computer recently?Method 1.
Let us first start the sfc scan and check if there are any file system corruption.
a. to do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right click Guest and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
b. type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
More information on SFC scan found in this document:
Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)

If the problem persists, then create a new user profile and then copy your current users assigning to this profile. For more information, see:

Lost on Outlook Express emails
'Cleaning' Outlook Express process (transfer and compact) seems to have deleted about 10 weeks of recent e-mails. How to make a comeback?
Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below. Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact
Why mail disappears:
http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgoneRecovery methods:If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files. To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder. If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspxAnd see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4A general warning to help avoid this in the future:Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
