Upgrade Windows 7 Home Edition to Ultimate
I use a HP desktop computer, model p6310f, who is about 2 years old and comes with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. He also seems to be the 64-bit version (which is indicated in the computer system "Properties" section.
I plan to upgrade to Windows Ultimate.
Is it possible to switch to the x 86 version (32-bit), or do I have to upgrade to x 64?
More important still, can anyone recommend which is a better choice?
I also intend to improve all my MS software, and the same question applies to the Agency and other packages? Any recommendations on whether to go with versions 32 or 64 bits?
Appreciate any comment there...
Thank you
You must install the 64-bit version.
Your computer comes with 6 GB of RAM that need this version of Windows in order to be fully utilized.

Is it possible to upgrade Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1 has to Service Pack 3?
I have the original disc of the product. It came as Windows XP SP1a. At in the past (a few years ago), I've upgraded to SP2. I started to receive a STOP error message. I tried to repair the installation of Windows XP Edition family. I can't say for sure right now, but it seems that SP2 just disappeared..., do not know immediately. I always face the STOP error.
When I get things and rerun, can I put SP1a directly to SP3? I don't know the rules relating to the upgrade.
Ask the same question in a different way..., can I've actually updated to SP3 Service Pack while jumping on SP2?
Windows XP Home Edition has always been easy to use. I wouldn't lose it.
The answer could be just a YES or a no thank you for your time.
I don't know the rules relating to the upgrade.

Upgrade Windows Vista Home Edition to Vista Ultimate
I want to upgrade Vista home to Vista Ultimate edition. In my Staples store seller told me that it is no longer available and I have bay Windows 7. but my computer is only 1.5 years old and I don't want to spend additional $ 350. Let me know how can I upgrade to Vista Ultimate.
Sincerely,
Max
The cost of the upgrade of Windows Vista Edition Family Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition would have been about the same that the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Given that Windows Vista Ultimate Edition is no longer sold through distribution channels, you might as well move to Windows 7 Ultimate. Carey Frisch

Dear Sir, I have only 1 laptop with the original copy of Windows 7 - [Home Basic version]. This version is very slow, I took the trouble of that, so I want to upgrade to windows 7-[ultimate, proffesional] 8 version of Windows or by online (such as the upgrade of windows 10). But not strictly Windows 10.
Hi Shailabhasaini,
Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.
According to the description of the problem, you are ready to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. If you want more features than you currently have in your existing edition of Windows 7, you can upgrade to another edition using Windows Anytime Upgrade. Upgrade Windows 7 Home Edition to Windows 7 Professional
Hello
Where can I pass editsion windows 7 (64-bit) home to windows 7 Professional (64 bit)?
And NO, I don't want windows 10...

Microsoft sells more than win 7. You can buy a win 7 pro key from a retailer online such as Amazon.com. You realize that win 7 support ends next year right?

No detail, lack just the key needed to install the upgrade.
Hi Ytsircfay,
Unfortunetly Microsoft cannot generate new without the old keys product keys. I look on the machine, if it's OEM and see if there is a key on it. If this isn't the case, then you will need to buy new software with a key.
I hope this helps! Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

Hello
I have a laptop running Windows XP Home Edition (32-bit) SP3. It is a true copy that came pre-installed with my custom Dell Vostro 1000 (I know... very old...). I would like to know which versions of Windows Vista I can update. You can upgrade to Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business or Ultimate. See the get Windows Vista: upgrade options of page.

I want to install Windows 7 Professional. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?
You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.
If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.
How to install Windows 7:
If you have Vista:

Custom installation: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7-custom
What Upgrade Options are available for Windows 7?
If you are running Windows Vista , in some cases you can proceed directly to Windows 7, and in other cases, you must perform a custom installation. The following table shows what editions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7.Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate
Windows Vista Business
Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate
Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
Windows 7 Ultimate

Do you want to upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 ultimate but have downloaded Windows 8
I have windows 7 home top and I want to move to the ultimate thn wht was the process? I olready registry for windows 8 bt I used it for 3 weeks there are a lot of gap in dat os so I need to know abt wndows 7 ultimate... also the detail of OEM license and taken... .thank you...
You could do an Express of Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate upgrade, especially if you want to preserve your personal files, programs and settings. You can not do with an OEM license.
The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:
-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft
-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on
-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system
What is OEM software? :

Express upgrade
First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade to buy it.
Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Ultimate.

If you buy a Spanish copy, Yes. If you buy an English dub, no.
You need ultimate, not Home Premium, change language. And even
Then, you must download the language you want.Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?
Hi KevinRy,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
Unplug all external devices.
Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.
Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:
1.
Right-click my computerand then click Properties.
2.
Click the Advanced tab.
3.
Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.
4.
Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.
5.
Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.
Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.
Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.
Kind regards
Amal-Microsoft Support.

running Microsoft Windows XP Home edition Version 2002 Service pack 3, used the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade?
I followed the instructions on the card that came with the software... indicating that, if I look at my computer it was telling me that my computer works... either 64 or 32, but it does not work. So my question is, how do you know?
You probably have the 32-bit version of XP (in most individuals, and if your system properties page does not have 64-bit, then you have 32-bit.)
However, if you now have XP 32 - bit or 64-bit XP isn't the issue that relate to your decision to install 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7. This decision depends on the question to know if your hardware can support a 64-bit operating system. In this regard, the main reason for users to install a 64-bit operating system is to allow the use of more than 4 GB of RAM. If your hardware does support more than 4 GB of RAM, there is no interest to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
You run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor? With what results?
Click Start > run and type msinfo32 in the "Open" box and click OK.
After the system information window has had time fill, click Edit > select all, and then click Edit > copy.
