Upgrade Windows Vista CD, now problems.
Currently, I upgraded my computer with the disc I bought when I bought my laptop. Recently, I found the drive and thought I should install the updates. So I did and now that it is complete everything on my screen is HUGE and it is not able to find my router wireless in the room next to the one I am in. I'm not a geek and need help ASAP!
Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > looking for drivers and downloads Section > key in your computer laptop model number > find the Vista drivers for it (Grpahics/video, etc.) > download/install the.

I've upgraded windows vista to windows 7, now I need to reinstall it.
Original title: Vista to 7.
I've upgraded windows vista to windows 7, now I need to reinstlall and can not find my disk is there a way to do it without a disk
Hello
Reinstall the operating system?
There are several methods to reinstall Vista.
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:
How to change the Boot order in BIOS:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm
"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246
This method will probably not available because you have installed Windows 7
And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

upgrading Vista to Windows 7 Professional
I followed the instructions given on the MS site to upgrade my vista to windows 7. I answered the questions and MS said that I had to purchase the Professional upgrade from windows 7. After purchasing, I tried to install it and the upgrade program says that I can't upgrade vista with this version. Is there a work around for this problem, because I don't want to do a full install.64 bit HP machinesDual processor quadcurrently Vista SP2Hi JimNorman,
1. What is the version/edition of windows vista installed on the computer?
2. How do you try to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 (via anytime put at level or by using a disk)?
Make sure that you upgrade to the correct version, some versions of Windows cannot be upgraded with the installation disc you are trying to use. For example, you cannot upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade a higher edition of Windows like Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, to a lower edition, such as Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. If this is the case, you will need to use the custom during installation option.
Before you attempt to upgrade, please run the Windows 7 upgrade Advisor:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor
Also, check if your computer is compatible for Windows 7, using the Compatibility Center:
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

I'm unable to upgrade Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 to Windows 7 Home Premium.
I am trying to upgrade Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 to Windows 7 Home premium. The compatibility report indicates no problem, except that the keyboard filter stops working after the upgrade. It is just information and no error, so I continued. In the 'Windows Update' step during the "collection of files, settings and programs" in point 32%, I get "Windows has stopped working" pop up and the only option given is "close the program". Tried twice with the same results at the same point. Help, please.

I reinstalled Windows Vista and now I can't run "repair your computer". I need to do this because I'm missing a few scripts. What should I do to fix this
Hello
Run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions
If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

Pavilion d61 40f PC: upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 (64-bit)
I am trying to upgrade Windows Vista Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 (64 bit) on an older machine. In order to go forward the installation, I get the message that I need to uninstall the following programs: Business Manager and Anti-Malware Core. I looked under "programs" and "programs" on my C: drive, but I can't find any progams by those names.
Can someone tell me what I should look for, and where/how do I uninstall these files?
I am a novice and would appreciate your help in simple language. Thank you very much!
What you have is a rogue malware. Get the free Malwarebytesand scan. During installation, you will see one already ticked box (trial) enabled. Just uncheck that.

Do you have a recommendation about knowing it would be preferable to upgrade Windows Vista (32) to Win 7 (32), or make a new installation for Win 7 (64). Laptop has currently 4 GB of RAM installed. Should I wait for an improvement of the notable performance with the additional hassle to install Win 7 (64)? I guess I have to pay money to Ms. be it (?)

I want to install Windows 7 Professional. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?
You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.
If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7
I just bought Windows 7 upgrade Windows Vista. I get the error message: operation is not supported on this platform. What should I do to get this latest version in my computer?Have you tried to do an upgrade installation or a custom installation? A custom installation requires you to back up your files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer and then reinstall everything after installing the new. If an update install does not install work, you need to do a custom.
In addition, a Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade will not work and you get a message from a platform if you have bought a UA and tried to use it with Vista. Vista upgrade requires a detail, a copy in the Windows 7 box.
