Upgrading my ram will force me re - activate Windows 7

I want to go to 8gigs of ram to 16gigs. Installation of the upgrade will force me re - activate Win7 64?

No it won't. But you need to test the new memory once you install to be sure, that there is no issue.

Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if your one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), if no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • The upgrade of RAM will improve the speed side Windows and Mac?

I use VMware fusion for music production and this program requires plenty of work. I have a MacBook Pro 4 GB of ram and when I turn on VMware it goes to 2 GB of ram in Mac and 2 GB ram under windows. My Mac's speed is normal when VMware fusion is off but when I turn on my Mac is very slow. The upgrade of ram will improve the speed on mac and also windows (windows is also very slow)

BTW, my English is not very good

Well, take a peek in the Windows Task Manager to see how much memory is required/used. If an operating system requires more memory available, it will start to swap out the disk, which will introduce a huge performance impact. If the answer to your question is probably yes.

    André

PS: After adding memory to the host, you must also change the client memory for the virtual machine.

  • How many times Microsoft will allow you to activate Windows

As the questions indicates how many times you can activate Windows Vista Business? I would like to know because I had to activate Windows 3 - 4 times on a course of 3 days. Is there a limit to the number of times where Microsoft will allow you to activate Windows on the same computer with the same configuration?

    Thank you

    Hi Victor,

The answer to your question would be both 'yes' and 'no '.

IIRC, there is a limit on the number of times your license can be activated via the Internet.

However, after the limit is reached, you can still call them for telephone activation.

(You will have to wait before the automated voice system to reach a real person tho)

  • My product key"is to upgrade only" so now I can't activate Windows 8 after spending $70

Two weeks I upgraded to Win8 of Win7. (PS my laptop is not originally mine so I do not have the Win7 drive). Last Sunday, Windows could not update and crashed my system. After trying in vain to get help from Microsoft (and accumulating of the phone bill), I changed my hard drive and freshly reinstalled Windows 8. Finally I was in business... only that now my product key will not work. She is a straight key, but after several hours (and a bigger to my phone bill) I said that my drive is "for the upgrade only' and cannot be used for a clean reinstall. What? 1. what happens if someone doesn't have a disc with another OS, as is the case with me? 2. why I didn't say me that when 'redeveloped '? 3. what happens if someone has hardware problems and is forced to reinstall their OS, as was the case with me? The "backup drive" I was sent not supposed to work? What is the purpose of the "backup disc" then? 4. should I spend more money, even though I have yet to get the service I was looking for? 5. off topic a little: why Microsoft keep train to transfer me all over the world to say 'we can not help you. You are in a different area? Microsoft doesn't know how it works? Holy crap. No wonder that piracy is so popular.

You can try this fix from another thread:

Brilliant, wonderful human being named BinaryInk has reported the following:

"Work around it, although probably not officially supported for obvious reasons (they want more money), is to change a registry key." It was published for the keys to update Windows 7 do the same thing on a forum (although I had an updated version AND a clean installed SEVERAL times without having to do) but worked without problems on my laptop under Windows 8 without worrying.

    1. run the registry (regedit) editor
    2. look for the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OOBE
    3. change the value to "MediaBootInstall" from 1 to 0
    4. open a prompt (run as admin)
    5. run the following command: slmgr-rearm
    6 reboot

If you have already entered your key, check the activation: for me it has already been activated and I need to do nothing more. Otherwise, type activate windows and type the key. It should work. Also, do you a favor and export this regedit key and save it somewhere if you are required to do a clean install. I know I did. »

STIL, blue screen, F11) key doesnn can't work, not activate the product key... Please help...

    Hello

Here is the HP for Vista recovery information.

"Performing a recovery of the system HP (Windows Vista)"

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • RAM will improve the marketing of the Adobe Creative Cloud Apps?

    Hello

The title is pretty self-explanatory. I was wondering if it will help more RAM. I have 4 GB of ram currently installed in my iMac, and I wonder if the upgrade of RAM will help products Adobe launch faster because they are so slow to start. Office 2016 is too slow to start.

    Thank you!

4 GB of RAM is quite minimal quantity to use OS X on. In general, more RAM will not help open ACCESS is the first, but if you close the application and then restart it, Yes, additional RAM will help, especially if you to 'virtual memory' (where the HD is used as virtual memory). However, more RAM should be more comfortable for OS X, which (in turn can perhaps) will help VAC throw faster. If you buy more RAM make sure you buy OWC or Crucial, as they are known to be compatible with Macs.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - will be lost the warranty if I upgrade the RAM?

    Hey guys,.

I wanted to know if I purchase and install my own module SO-DIMM RAM in my laptop, it will void my warranty?
If so, how can I spend my memory?

    I agree with Akuma.
You will not void the warranty if you upgrade the RAM.
I've also updated my RAM and I t has not had any problems with my warranty.

Moreover, the best RAM for upgrade is the RAM even if you as before. I mean the manufacturing and specification. So you can ensure that the new RAM will work.

  • Satellite P10 804 will not accept the upgrade of RAM

Apologies, this is it is a bit long and also if this question has been covered elsewhere here: I had a good nose autour and have not found something that seems to help.

In any case, I had a Satellite P10 804 during these past years, I bought in the United Kingdom.

Quite early in my time with this laptop, I upgraded the RAM. It was 3 or 4 years ago, when memory was not as cheap right now, so I bought just a single 1 GB module. P10-804 will take up to 2 GB of RAM.

The P10 804 came with 512 GB as standard in two modules. My upgrade means I got 1.25 GB, which was in very good health. Everything was fine until the end of last year when the defective laptop; I followed the fault in module 1 GB of RAM. It was a bit awkward since I now live in New Zealand. However, the provider of the RAM was very professional, stood by their warranty, and we arranged a swap. RAM prices had fallen, so I bought another module of 1 GB at the same time upgrade the laptop completely.

Now the problems really started. The laptop would not simply work with the new installed RAM modules. It would work with one alone, nor even less with my old configuration of a module of 1 GB and 256 GB module. Start and run for five minutes before a freeze; white screen with fans roar; blue screen; frozen screen normal with strange objects; No start at all. everything.

Everything that works now is my original 256 MB module (his partner disappeared). This leads me to assume that I don't have some sort of hardware failure?

1 GB modules are DDR333 SODIMM, CL2.5. This laptop will also have the DDR266 modules, and it has been suggested to me, lower speed might work. I can try this option since the RAM prices are * really * low now, especially if I get confirmation of this as a valid strategy possible.

The laptop BIOS is updated to v2.00 (maybe?), and I also upgraded the HDD to a 120 GB unit (this works very well and is partitioned for XP and Linux). And from time to time I empty the fan.

Any advice welcome. Thanks for reading.

Reading your message, I came to the conclusion that this issue must be linked to the new RAM module and this module is malfunctioning or is not fully compatible with your laptop.

The P10 can be upgraded to 2 GB, so you should be able to use two single RAM 1 GB modules

So it must be a module problem
