  Do you mean that you would use a single module of ram of 1 GB?

  Well, you would still have 1 GB of RAM, but the dual channel cannot be used due to lack of second module.
  So, if you can, try to use exactly the same 2 modules for best performance of the memory.

  The laptop supports two memory locations so you can't do anything wrong insert 2 modules in slots 2 to run dual channel modules

  My brother has a Satellite L30 - 11 d and he bought an extra 2 GB upgrade from 512 MB RAM.
  HE sent me an email - excerpt below, but does not have regular access to the Internet and so not the time of this post.

  My laptop has 512 MB of ram and Toshiba etc. told me that it could be upgraded to 2 GB. I got 2 x 1 GB cards installed.
  The problem is that if I remove the 512 MB card, the laptop does not see the Go cards at all, so I put the card 512 back in and it was OK, so I put a 1 GB card in and it worked OK, thinking it might be a loser card I have triedthe other cards plus the works of 512 and this.

  Also, if I put one of the GB cards on their own that work.
  According to Toshiba, the computer can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM - so what I am doing wrong.

  Any ideas would be appreciated. »

  I googled and found this page of specification of Satellite L30 - 11 d:

  According to this page, the satellite L30 - 11 d can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB)
  You must use the RAM (533 MHz) DDR2 200pin modules.

  I think that the laptop doesn't recognize the 2 GB of RAM due to compatibility issues you should try the modules of RAM from another manufacturer. Maybe Kingston would be ok.

  I think that the problem might be in the configuration of the shared memory of the chipset, because the system takes 1 GB shared memory.
  Unfortunately you have no influence since the chipset is automatically assign memory depending on how you install.

  This is no design flaw rather it s (unfortunately) a decision to Intel/Nvidia.

  In this case won´t you have a bit of luck but since Don t work you with CAD applications (which I suppose :)) or similar applications of "memory-hungry" won´t recognize you any show change if it would be different (if you have 4 GB available and not 3Gig))

  I had installed XP on my laptop (model name: Satellite A200-1WR) (model No.:PSA3E3 - 05J01CCE), and then I downloaded all the drivers for this operating system from toshiba support page.

  When I installed those wireless, it has begun to settle, but finally it did not complete properly... after that I tried to install drivers from intel are supported on the page. Intel PROSet/Wireless "but with that program finishes installing, but then saids OS that there is a problem with the cameras...

  To be honest, I can't believe this. The WLAN drivers are offered for a long time on the Toshiba support page and if there is a problem with the driver itself Toshiba has had time to react and offer the best version.

Equium series caught my attention, especially the Satellite A200 - 15l, which has the processor intel pentium dual core 2080, vista edition windows Home premium, 160 GB HDD, 1 GB + 1 GB of RAM in other words 2 gig of ram. DVD Supermulti DL drive, and has a widescreen 15.4 "trubrite display. All for A £499 inc VAT. I can't find this phone anywhere on the internet, and all models of the A200 series, I found cost a lot more of A £499 for a lot less features. Could you please tell me where to find this laptop for this price, and if not why this addition was published.   I got a Satellite A200 - 1 GB of Dubai on November 16, 2007
  It's really cool!
  It was so trendy more than I thought. Likewise, it doesn t have a fancy look, I think that it s a decent design.

  It doesn t have the harman/cardon speakers, but there is a sticker saying DOLBY SOUND ROOM. I put t know the meaning of it. But the sound quality is pretty much more than I expected.

  Win Vista it takes some time to start the PC, but performance is good. But I need to check the performance of my development work. Still, I couldn't t install the Visual Studio 2005, SQL server, kit JDK and Tomcat server.

  I think that those who will be work out on it with a prob. So I'll give my comment on A200 - 1 GB performance after working with those.

  Bluetooth, Webcam, DVD player all work correctly.

  Yes, it's time to work common battery! But note; battery working time is different and always depends on the use of the laptop!
  If the laptop runs with maximum performance and unique pieces as ODD, GPU, CPU are stressed so battery working time sinks quickly.

  Please note that the Vista operating system consumes all the resources of the laptop and also the battery power down much faster than on the first MS OS like XP.

• Screen cracked the Satellite A200

  I bought the Satellite A200-1YO 15.4 "laptop around a month ago.
  Today, I think the screen is cracked. I have not had an additional guarantee, but I still have the original invoice.
