Upgrading RAM on the Satellite L30 - 11 d

My brother has a Satellite L30 - 11 d and he bought an extra 2 GB upgrade from 512 MB RAM.
HE sent me an email - excerpt below, but does not have regular access to the Internet and so not the time of this post.

My laptop has 512 MB of ram and Toshiba etc. told me that it could be upgraded to 2 GB. I got 2 x 1 GB cards installed.
The problem is that if I remove the 512 MB card, the laptop does not see the Go cards at all, so I put the card 512 back in and it was OK, so I put a 1 GB card in and it worked OK, thinking it might be a loser card I have triedthe other cards plus the works of 512 and this.

Also, if I put one of the GB cards on their own that work.
According to Toshiba, the computer can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM - so what I am doing wrong.

Any ideas would be appreciated. »

Hello

I googled and found this page of specification of Satellite L30 - 11 d:
http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&com.broadvis ion.session.new = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 128130

According to this page, the satellite L30 - 11 d can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB)
You must use the RAM (533 MHz) DDR2 200pin modules.

I think that the laptop doesn't recognize the 2 GB of RAM due to compatibility issues you should try the modules of RAM from another manufacturer. Maybe Kingston would be ok.

    Hello

I have a Toshiba L30 - 115 and I want to update the default value to 1 GB / 2 GB of RAM and 160GB / 250GB hard drive is it possible and if so can you provide me with the item number of the modules and the capacity of each. I would like to know if the system would support any upgrade, as I wish?

    Hello

Response to upgrade of RAM is very easy. This Satellite phone can handle with 2 GB RAM max and compatible DDR2 400/533 1 GB memory module except the number PA3411U-1M1G. You can use two modules of 1 GB and maximally improve.

On HARD drive, upgrade is not easy to provide accurate information because I know that Toshiba s specification states that the HARD drive can be upgraded up to 80 GB. Unfortunately I didn't find any public documents on the exact list of compatible drives but I think you can improve it with 120 GB of HARD drive.

Boyfriend sorry but I didn't find more information. Perhaps someone with L30 will post here on the upgrade of the HARD drive.

  • Upgrading RAM in the Satellite A200-1WR

    Hello!

    My laptop is a Satellite A200-1WR, code PSAE3E-05J01CCE, including 2.048 (1,024 + 1,024) MB RAM memory.
I wonder if it is possible to upgrade to 4 GB memory
In the specifications, it is said that the maximum expansion is 2 GB.

However, I don't know if 2 GB is the maximum expansion for each slot, it is possible to have two modules of 2 GB each, or the motherboard was held 2 GB total.

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, this model of laptop can handle with 2 GB of RAM only.
Sorry, but move to 4 GB is not possible.

  • Upgrading RAM on the Satellite 2450 S203

Recently upgraded from 2 x 256 to 2 x 512 MB memory RAM. Put new memory in the laptop could not start. Replaced by the original memory still fails to start.

    All solutions?

    Hello

Try switching the modules in the memory locations. Sometimes, this might help.
If possible, try to access the BIOS and to set default settings.

But if the laptop will not start in the original and compatible memory modules, then you damage something during the memory upgrade procedure.

    Just for info:
Is that you must use the PC2700 200 pin SODIMM (333 Mhz) DDR modules. These modules are compatible

    Hi mate,

I think that the problem might be in the configuration of the shared memory of the chipset, because the system takes 1 GB shared memory.
Unfortunately you have no influence since the chipset is automatically assign memory depending on how you install.

This is no design flaw rather it s (unfortunately) a decision to Intel/Nvidia.

In this case won´t you have a bit of luck but since Don t work you with CAD applications (which I suppose :)) or similar applications of "memory-hungry" won´t recognize you any show change if it would be different (if you have 4 GB available and not 3Gig))

    Welcome them

    Hi all

I have problems with some memory I bought for the computer above. Memory is purchased from Crucial, it's a 512 MB PC133 144pin sodimm (CT64M64S4W75.16FDY) stick
The problem I have is when I install it I get 3 beeps error (looks like 1 LNG 2 sheets), I tried to install it in different locations, by itself and with the old 128 MB memory stick, but I always impossible he can begin. I know that I have the right type of memory, but still this 'thing' will beep at me... What did I do wrong?

BTW, laptop working again if I am in the old 2 x 128 MB sticks

Of course, you bought not compatible RAM modules. I recommend to buy tested and recommended products manufacturer.

You have two options to do this. Initially, you can use the RAM memory modules recommended by Toshiba 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51) PC133 and PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25) or you can order high-quality Kingston modules.

Please visit http://www.kingston.com/products/default.asp and you will find the memory Configurator. This will help you find links to compatible memory for your laptop satellite.

    Bye and good luck!

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade of RAM to my laptop. I'm not sure whether the maximum RAM can take my laptop is 1024 or 2048 MB. A site on the net says that my laptop took TBD 1024 2048 MB.

Is it 1 GB or 2 GB?

    Hello

I also found information that the size of upgrade memory max is 1024MB.
In this case, you can use two modules with 512 MB.

The compatible modules should be PC2100 DDR - RAM
    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)

  • Problems upgrade memory on the Satellite L30-134

I just bought 2 x 1 GB memory for my L30-134 PC4200 and installed that they work fine in the BIOS, see and read as they should do, but when windows starts up it will crash with the two modules are installed, don't ever get to the screen with the loading bar crossing and then I get the blue screen.

I forgot to take note of the error code, I'm afraid... (Silly I know). If I remove one of the modules and module installation original 512 with just 1 the 1 GB ones that it works perfectly. BIOS has been updated to the latest version 3.10, and again, I get the same problem...
because everything looks good go in the BIOS I think that its more likely to be a software problem (windows) any maybe some damage data in the registry or maybe a virus... anyone have any ideas?

In addition, the laptop is actually my step son and he really wants to have the CPU improved Celeron 410 to one that is a little faster. When we look at first in this we was told that several processors are compatible (although not really worth the hassle of installation) they were cel m 450 2 GHz, dual core t2060 and t2080 pent, as well as the core duo t2250, so he bought the t2250 and it wouldn't surprise, or should I say it power on with no display and the stopcock and just epeated cycle. So didn't take is not a genius to establish it was not compat...

I know the t2080 are used in of the L30 and 1.73 533 FSB with 1 MB L2 cache-65nm and do walk. The t2250 is identical apart from the L2 cache is 2 MB and deepening varies from c to MB depends on when you bought it... because oe it already has the CPU it will sell and use the money to purchase one that will work. If anyone has any info that could help to ensure that it doesn't end up going round in circles I would really appreciate it...

Oh and just to make laugh you all he was member of staff line Toshiba tech that had told him that the CPU would not work and that the L30 managed to take 2 x 1 GB memory and not once mentioned that there may be problems with two updates...
Issues such as neither soddin work... lmao

    Hi all

I'm trying to update the memory from 512 MB to 2 GB.

    I have used Crucial memory Tester and ordered memory: 2 X 1 GB DDR2 667 CL5
I can use either chip in a memory slot, but not the two chips at the same time

    I've updated the BIOS

Maybe you should use compatible DDR2 533 MHz modules. RAMs compatible for this models are 1 GB with PA3411U-1M1G part number.

  • Problems with Benq DC C 700 digital camera on the Satellite L30 105

    Hello

I have problems with my digital camera when I connect it to my laptop. Whenever I connect the camera to the laptop freezes and gives me the blue screen of death, in other words, the screen you get when a fatal error occurs, and then my laptop must be restarted. If this happens whenever I connect the two.

I tried the bios update and install the latest orders, but nothing seemed to work. I contacted the support center in Benq and they told me to contact Toshiba as they are sure that the problem is not with the camera. So please someone, if you have any ideas or suggestions or solutions, I'll be happy to hear.

    Thank you!

    Hello

First of all if you need Toshiba support, you will need to contact Toshiba authorized service partner in your country. This forum here is only a forum for users and you won't find anyone from Toshiba here.

    On the other hand;
It seems that the Satellite L30-105 has been bundled with Vista. Using this operating system on the L30?
I read on many problems with the 3rd devices, software, and Windows Vista.

I put t know what said you, but eventually the software webcam is not 100% compatible with Vista.
You should know that the BSOD appears if there is a serious hardware problem or software. I don t think that this problem was caused by a hardware issue and so there is only one possibility; software compatibility issues.

In case you I would update the Vista of the State and I will ask manufacturing webcam if it s 100% compatible with Vista.

    Good luck

  • For the Archives: The upgrade of the Satellite L30-134

I'm one of those old cell phones off a friend who had retired as being obsolete.

However with a little time and money, it is possible to upgrade to a very usable machine.

Not a power by any stretch but perfectly adequate for browsing the internet and watching videos (about 720 p watchable) standard definition etc.

So as the search of these forums for more information for this project, I found a lot of conflicting advice, and some of my questions were not answered at all. I hope by documenting my experiences here I can help someone in the same position in the future.

    * Model *.

This machine is the Toshiba Satellite L30-134, part number: PSL33E-00E013G3. It's probably very similar, but not necessarily the same as the other models L30. No invert them.

    * Original configuration *.

Processor - Intel Celeron m 410 (Cache of 1 MB, 1.46 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, Socket M). It is a simple version of the Core Duo (Yonah core) processor core. It shares nothing in common and is not swapable with the previous generation Pentium M or processors Celeron Mr. He is also incompatible with the next generation of Core 2 Duo/Solo and Pentium and Celeron processors derived from these.

Memory - A single 512MB SODIMM PC2 - 4200 (DDR2-533 MHz). This differs from the previous generation of DDR and the next generation of DDR3. The controller memory only supports single channel mode. There is no loss that the FSB of the processor is not fast enough to take advantage of the dual channel anyway.

    * BIOS *.

My laptop came with very old version 1.3. Toshiba provides the latest version (3.10) for download. This is reported to be buggy and mess with the profiles of fan so I decided to leave it alone. I can confirm that my updates work without updating the BIOS.

    * Updates *.

Processor - I swapped the Celeron for a Core Duo T2350 (1.87 GHz). Everything I read that all the Yonah core Core Duo/solo, Pentium and Celeron with a FSB of 533 are compatible. The FSB 667 models are not.

The Core Duo T2450 at 2 GHz is the highest performing compatible processor but double the price on eBay. I paid just £12 (used) for the T2350 so there is really no reason to go down now, all of these parts are obsolete.

RAM - there are 2 slots on this machine. Toshiba State a maximum of 2 GB, 1 GB in each slot. Unfortunately, the memory controller is very picky and survey of the weird errors, unless you get just the right ones.

There is not enough information to understand it so for me it was a process of trial and error. Fortunately, I found an online retailer that guaranteed compatibility in 100% and returned by mail for free.

The second pair of Poles worked well.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I would like to upgrade the RAM of the Satellite A100-803

    Hello

I want to upgrade the RAM of my Satellite A100-803, which uses actually PC2-533, at 4 GB.

    Can I upgrade to PC2 - 667?
    Do I need Dual-Channel?
One advises on what brand or the best model to use?

If I not mistaken and for what I could see around the internet, I should be able to switch to 4 GB PC2-667 and Dual-Channel should not be necessary. But an expert of confirmation would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Best regards.

    Javier.

    Hello

Laptop computer supports Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset.
These results support single / dual channel DDR2 SDRAM
Maximum memory supported: up to 4 GB to 400, 533 and 667 MHz

  • Problems of memory on the Satellite L30-101

I have a toshiba satellite l30-101 laptop and wanted to upgrade the RAM, so I bought 2 x 1 GB sticks to put in it.
Now, I could not find all those at 533 mhz so I bought 2 667 mhz after a talk to a technical guy who said if I had 2 the same speed it will work very well.

Only this isn't at all that I can put a stick and it works very well with the 533 mhz.
The one I have in if I try to put the two sticks in it comes up with errors of memory and I get the bsod that restarts my computer and did not get my games or other programs.
Is anyway to make sure I can have both new sticks in that I really need RAM and do not want to buy different ones.
I mean if I can get another one we should probably work well work?

Please help im crazy trying to solve this shit

    Hello

I think that the speed of the memory has nothing to do with the BSOD!
In my opinion the BSOD appears due to the failure of memory!

In addition the L30-101 supports only the FSB 533 Mhz. In this case you will not be able to run the 667 Mhz modules of memory at full speed.
The modules will run at 533 Mhz only!

So in my opinion, you must replace the defective module with one that works very well!

    Best regards
