Upgrading RAM on the Satellite L30 - 11 d
My brother has a Satellite L30 - 11 d and he bought an extra 2 GB upgrade from 512 MB RAM.
HE sent me an email - excerpt below, but does not have regular access to the Internet and so not the time of this post.My laptop has 512 MB of ram and Toshiba etc. told me that it could be upgraded to 2 GB. I got 2 x 1 GB cards installed.
The problem is that if I remove the 512 MB card, the laptop does not see the Go cards at all, so I put the card 512 back in and it was OK, so I put a 1 GB card in and it worked OK, thinking it might be a loser card I have triedthe other cards plus the works of 512 and this. Also, if I put one of the GB cards on their own that work.
According to Toshiba, the computer can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM - so what I am doing wrong.Any ideas would be appreciated. »
Hello
I googled and found this page of specification of Satellite L30 - 11 d:
http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&com.broadvis ion.session.new = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 128130According to this page, the satellite L30 - 11 d can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB)
You must use the RAM (533 MHz) DDR2 200pin modules.I think that the laptop doesn't recognize the 2 GB of RAM due to compatibility issues you should try the modules of RAM from another manufacturer. Maybe Kingston would be ok.

Upgrade memory on the Satellite L300 problem
My laptop is a Satellite L300 PSLB8A 047004. I bought a kit of 2 x 2 GB modules and inserted carefully following the instructions (they clicked in place). When the computer reboots, the power light comes on, the fan was on but no other activity and the screen stayed black, no drive activity. Initially, there was 1-off 1 GB PC2 - 6400S installed module, and I checked the news is PC2 - 6400S. I took and put back in but same result. When I put the original module in it worked fine.
Then I tried one of the new modules instead of lucky one but not original so the original module is now back in and everything seems OK.
Any suggestions please? If there is damage of module to be managed, then the original 1 GB module should also be damaged, because this is one that s been managed at best.KeV.
This is a typical behavior of compatibility issues. The modules you have, I mean who is the manufacturer?
I recommend you to use high quality of Kingston or Toshiba products. For more information about compatible modules for your laptop computer, visit http://www.kingston.com/worldwide/default.asp

Upgrade memory on the Satellite L300
I bought a L300 satellite in August 08 in Australia. It came with a single module of memory 1 GB which is now inadequate.
I got 2 x 2 GB modules but cannot make it work with the two climbs. Reports of the mounted but 4 GB Vista BIOS restarts the first time then blue screens. Ubuntu Linux crashes after loading of HAL.If only one module mounted it works OK and it does not matter which module is used.
Any info on this would be most appreciated.
There is not some special info that you can get here.
With RAM upgrade is important to use the 100% compatible modules and also the high quality products of Toshiba or Kingston. Many people have reported on the same problems using certain products without name at low cost.
2 GB compatible RAM has PA3513U-1M2G part number.Check it out.

Upgrading RAM in the Satellite A200-1WR
Hello!
My laptop is a Satellite A200-1WR, code PSAE3E-05J01CCE, including 2.048 (1,024 + 1,024) MB RAM memory.
I wonder if it is possible to upgrade to 4 GB memory
In the specifications, it is said that the maximum expansion is 2 GB.However, I don't know if 2 GB is the maximum expansion for each slot, it is possible to have two modules of 2 GB each, or the motherboard was held 2 GB total.
Thanks in advance
Unfortunately, this model of laptop can handle with 2 GB of RAM only.
Sorry, but move to 4 GB is not possible. -
Upgrading RAM on the Satellite 2450 S203
Recently upgraded from 2 x 256 to 2 x 512 MB memory RAM. Put new memory in the laptop could not start. Replaced by the original memory still fails to start.
All solutions?
Hello
Try switching the modules in the memory locations. Sometimes, this might help.
If possible, try to access the BIOS and to set default settings. But if the laptop will not start in the original and compatible memory modules, then you damage something during the memory upgrade procedure.
Just for info:
Is that you must use the PC2700 200 pin SODIMM (333 Mhz) DDR modules. These modules are compatible[Memory for Toshiba Satellite 2450 S203 | http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=7393&ft=m&st=3]

Upgrading RAM on the Satellite X 200
Hello
I have a Satellite x 200-15 k. Since a few days I have installed RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB.
Questions I noticed that the system can read only 3 GB and note of graphic card get bigger as its support turbo cache. No idea why?The Web from Toshiba site master > standard system memory: 2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB
Maximum extension: 4 096 MB
Technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)The graphic card manufacturer: NVIDIAî
Type: NVIDIAî Geforcea? ¢ 8700 M GT supports Turbocachea? ¢ technology
Memory: 256 MB of VRAM dedicated (up to 2047 MB of total available graphics memory using Turbocachea? ¢ technology with 4 GB of system memory)
Memory type: DDR video RAM (resp. video RAM DDR and DDR system memory combined)
Connected bus: PCI Express 16 xHi mate,
I think that the problem might be in the configuration of the shared memory of the chipset, because the system takes 1 GB shared memory.
Unfortunately you have no influence since the chipset is automatically assign memory depending on how you install. This is no design flaw rather it s (unfortunately) a decision to Intel/Nvidia.
In this case won´t you have a bit of luck but since Don t work you with CAD applications (which I suppose :)) or similar applications of "memory-hungry" won´t recognize you any show change if it would be different (if you have 4 GB available and not 3Gig))
Welcome them

Upgrading RAM on the Satellite 1400-253 s
Hi all
I have problems with some memory I bought for the computer above. Memory is purchased from Crucial, it's a 512 MB PC133 144pin sodimm (CT64M64S4W75.16FDY) stick
The problem I have is when I install it I get 3 beeps error (looks like 1 LNG 2 sheets), I tried to install it in different locations, by itself and with the old 128 MB memory stick, but I always impossible he can begin. I know that I have the right type of memory, but still this 'thing' will beep at me... What did I do wrong?BTW, laptop working again if I am in the old 2 x 128 MB sticks
Of course, you bought not compatible RAM modules. I recommend to buy tested and recommended products manufacturer.
You have two options to do this. Initially, you can use the RAM memory modules recommended by Toshiba 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51) PC133 and PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25) or you can order high-quality Kingston modules.
Please visit http://www.kingston.com/products/default.asp and you will find the memory Configurator. This will help you find links to compatible memory for your laptop satellite.
Bye and good luck!

Upgrading RAM on the Satellite 2450-201
Hello
I'm looking to upgrade of RAM to my laptop. I'm not sure whether the maximum RAM can take my laptop is 1024 or 2048 MB. A site on the net says that my laptop took TBD 1024 2048 MB.
Is it 1 GB or 2 GB?
Kind regards
Philip (Dublin)Hello
I also found information that the size of upgrade memory max is 1024MB.
In this case, you can use two modules with 512 MB.The compatible modules should be PC2100 DDR - RAM
PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51) -

How do I not what SATA driver do I need for the Satellite L300 - 03C so I can make nlite
Hello
Your laptop seems to be a Satellite L300 - 03C PSLB8C-03C01X.
As already indicated on your first visit to thread the Toshiba Canada page and choose this model of laptop on the driver page.
http://209.167.114.38/support/download/ln_bymodel.aspThen download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (SATA) - image of floppy drive. It of for Vista, but the files in this package should work with Win XP too.
Include these files using nLite to create the new disk Win XP that contains SATA drivers. Finally use this disk to start.

Hello
Why?
Who knows what have you that your screen is white?
My screen is not white it shows everything correctly. The same white screen will appear on the external monitor?
If so, then this problem may be related to faulty graphics card, if no, your laptop computer s display can be defective -

Upgrade CPU on the Satellite C850D
My Toshiba Satellite is equipped with a processor 1.4 GHz very slow and im quite fed up of not being able to run many applications at all due to its extremely slow speed of calculation. is there a way I could get a more powerful processor for this computer? If Yes, what else it would take like a necessary upgrade for it?
Data sheet:
Processor: AMD E1 - 1200 APU with graphics HD Radeon (TM) 1.40 GHz
Installed (live RAM) memory 4.00 GB (3.60 GB usable)
system type: 64-bit operating system
Pen and touch: no stylus or touch.I can get and install RAM and SSD myself, I just want to know if theres a possible CPU to update here.
Generally speaking, CPU or GPU update is not supported. More info on what you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
Due to the specific design each laptop has the cooling system specific that allows the optimum temperature of material and do not allow any laptop to run on the critical temperature. A more powerful processor means more heat, so I think that's not such a good idea to change. CPU utilization slightly faster not bring you performance much more, I guess. Three years ago my brother has updated CPU on his old machine P300 but there is not much difference.
After upgrade RAM and SSD laptop was very fast, very big initialize and reaction time.
You are right about RAM and SSD. You can do this alone.Post if you please the exact model name and we can check what RAM modules are compatible with it.
