Upgrading the RAM. Can I use the old memory of the computer for the newly purchased computer.

My old computer which does not has RAM 1.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR @ 106 MHz (2, 5-3-3-7), while the anther computer, I bought recently has RAM DDR 400/128 bits. Can I use the old memory of the computer for the newly purchased computer. Are they compatible? Thank you

Hello nonmae,.

You must use DDR 400/128 bit RAM in your system. @ 106 Mhz DDR is quite old. It's also much slower than the DDR 400. RAM is not particularly expensive today and it is always best to stick to that suggests your PC user manual.

You must use the same speed too, if you use a lower speed, the memory of your PC by default at the lowest speed, thus slowing the PC
