Upon resuming from hibernation my computer asks continue logon or delete restoration data. Restore data refers to a previous restoration or a restore point that was created for later use?

Original title: F8 and troubleshooting.

After starting my computer Gateway Profile4 after hibernation, I wonder to continue logon or delete restoration data. Restore data refers to a previous restoration or a restore point that was created for later use? If restoring the use of revert to a previous state, you can cancel that catering is also created which I think could be is requested.

original title: after waking up from hibernation, he asked me to continue logon or delete restoration data.

Recently, I had this problem.  This link above (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294427) helped me.

Basically, it seems to be a corrupted restore point created to go into hibernation.  I think that the system wants to remove that restore point and reboot "fresh."

Restore data refers to a previous restoration or a restore point that was created for later use?

A previous restore point.

If restoring the use of revert to a previous state, you can cancel that catering is also created which I think could be is requested.

If I understand you correctly, no.

Hope this helps

  • The computer hangs after resume from hibernation

I bought a gateway in 2007 with Vista Home Premium. Great hibernation worked until 7 months after a windows update (I forget which). Now, when I resumed from hibernation, it restarts and comes up with the screen asking me if I want windows to start normally or in safe mode, etc. Any ideas of what could be the cause? Also now, after I try to bring it from being asleep, the screen is black and the computer does nothing. I have to then it reboot. Thank you.

    Hello Mlhargrave,

Thank you for posting.  I found the solution to the problem of you in a Thread here on this site.

We found that sometimes the BCD file may have problems.

You can try this to fix the BCD file.

    1. run CMD. EXE as administrator

    2. run the following command: bcdedit - enum all

Search for "Summary of Hibernate" in the output of the command above (example below):

    Out of the hibernation

    ---------------------

    identifier {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963}

    Device partition = C:

    path \Windows\system32\winresume.exe

    Windows Vista (TM) Enterprise (recovered)

    inherit {resumeloadersettings}

    FILEDEVICE partition = C:

    FilePath \hiberfil.sys

    PAE Yes

    debugoptionenabled No.

    3. Once you have found, copy the value of the identifier (in this example - {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963})

    4. run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit

    5. test of hibernation.

  • Bug report: Power Manager causes performance slowed after resume from hibernation

I use Windows 7 and several versions of the power manager, including the last 6.63.1 of a 220 X.

If I Hibernate the computer, when I'm back, everything is very slow. For example, it takes several seconds for a page to display after clicking a tab in Chrome, but it's just an example, almost everything is unresponsive. This happens for about 5-10 min, but eventually everything will work normally. It seems to be related to the use of high page files. More I wait to take over after the hibernation, the biggest problem seems to be taking.

The deactivation of the service to be able to eat has not corrected the problem, but after uninstalling the power manager, the problem will disappear completely.

I've seen several reports of that of others. This person, it connects to Power Manager, but does not give many details.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/unresponsive-after-resume-fro...

This person is also connected Power Manager, but gives a description of how he did, which can be useful for you.

    http://asqueella.blogspot.com/2012/07/Windows-7-resuming-from-hibernation-is.html

I have reinstalled Power Manager, because the computer is unusable after hibernation. I love the program, however, so it would be nice if you can solve this problem.

    Best wishes

    Justin

    Justin_KM,

I have discussed this with the Power Manager team and they think that this problem can occur because of a feature called Fast Hibernation summary power manager.  The idea is that Power Manager will page out most application on the drive memory before hibernation.  Then the hibernation file will be as small as possible, resulting in a faster recovery time.  But I guess it can cause this side effect, you found if several applications are page in a lot of memory, disk, after sleep.  Then you would end up with the use of the disc heavy and slow application performance, until finally the memory is restored from pagefile.

Anyway, if you want to retry Power Manager, please install the latest version and then apply this reg file to disable the feature that we believe that your problem is initially:

    https://DL.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62276273/DisableFastHibernationResume.reg

Restart after applying the reg file.  This assumes that you are running 64-bit Windows.  If you are running 32-bit Windows, let me know and I'll give you a different reg file.

  • White screen when resume from hibernation when the graph is active (DM4)

I configured and purchased a HP DM4t with 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon (TM) HD 5450 switchable graphicst.  My problem is that when the laptop goes to sleep (for example when I close the lid), it will sleep for a while (I think his suffering at 6 p.m.), after which she'll take back and hibernate itself (hybrid sleep option).  I like this feature because it allows to save battery power, however, when I try to resume from hibernation when the ATI Radeon graphics card is active, all I get is a black screen.  I can connect using the fingerprint reader, (I hear Windows making the connected to the carillon), but I don't see anything on my screen.  If I do this same scenario using the Intel graphics card, I will not have this problem.

I called HP tech support and their solution was to disable hybrid sleep feature.  I was not satisfied with this solution, because it does not save the battery of the laptop must sleep for a long time.  My solution is to disable auto graphics card change, and I just go to the ATI Radeon manually if necessary.  The problem with my solution is that it forces me to remember to turn off the discrete graphics when I'm actually (I tend to forget).

Is there a solution to this problem that will allow me to use the gfx ATI card AND the hybrid auto sleep function?

I was finally able to update ATI graphics driver on my laptop.  This seems to have solved my out of the hibernation problem.  The version of the driver that I'm on is 8.741.1.1000 with a date of version of 21/06/2010.

  • Very slow resume from hibernation.

I had a T60 before this SL500 and the recovery time after going into hibernation was much faster, even though the specification of the SL500 is much higher... Any ideas? I have defraged and optimized already.

I did a full reinstall OS and all drivers are up-to-date.

    Dear Toecutter

I applied programs pagedefrag and jkdefrag without the expected results (although these programs seem to do a very good job!) However, on the site of jkdefrag (www.kessels.com) I found - in addition to a wealth of information - How to defragment "C:\hiberfil.sys"? Yes Sir, the hibernation file! The problem has been resolved after following the instructions of Jeroen Kessels ! Hibernation and resume in a split second!

I guess that this procedure should be repeated periodically.

BTW: this site also refers to pagedefrag, which program composer, Mark Russinovich, also developed useful programs Process Explorer ECA system information, additions/replacements very useful for Windows Task Manager.

  • Webcam has become active but not available upon resuming from standby mode

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
    2 Microsoft Lifecam, latest driver

I have a couple of software IM, including Skype.

When I put the machine to sleep and then wake him up, the light on the webcam will be on.

IM software like Skype will not be able to use the webcam, complain that is not available.  Quit all of the IM software and restart, LED stays on and same complaint.

The only solution is to unplug the webcam and the re - plug.  Then things will take care again.

Any suggestion on how to solve it?

    Thank you

My problem is not described here.

I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that I have two of the same device.  Windows 7 seems to have problem addressing both.

I made a change: one of them was plug in a USB 2.0 port and the other into the USB 3.0 port.  The chipset is different, so their addresses must be very different.  So far, this seems to solve the problem.

  • Windows 7 not resumed after Hibernation - tried all of the solutions out there

I have a HP pavilion Dv6t laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate.

    -Intel i7 2670qm

    -8 GB ram

    -700 GB HARD DRIVE
-AMD 7690mxt 1 GB graphics card

The Windows is preinstalled with the laptop. This laptop has already had 4 primary partitions reserved by Windows and HP recovery disks.

I need dual boot linux for development purposes, so I deleted one of the primary partitions. The partition that I deleted was the partition of 100 MB, I think, Windows uses to start and system for purposes of repair.

After deleting the partition of 100 MB, I ran Windows repair and I started correctly in Windows. Then I installed Ubuntu and it starts very well as well. The boot loader is now the Ubuntu one, I don't assume the cause of the problem.

    Now comes the problem.

When I put in hibernation in Windows, it hibernates correctly but using the Hibernate, I am presented with the message "Windows summary of Point of hibernation". I hit enter and Windows get stuck at Windows Startup logo. This can go for hours and hours remaining on the screen. I so force the shutdown of the laptop. Start the laptop I am presented with 2 options

    1. take out the point of hibernation

2 remove the point of hibernation and continue to the start screen

I select the option of delete will point and Windows starts but I lose all data saved with Hibernate.

Please help me solve this problem! It comes to my work machine.

  • How can I move my subscription of cloud from my old computer to my new adobe?

How can I move my subscription of cloud from my old computer to my new adobe? I know that I am allowed to have on both computers, but I like to keep my second install for later use instead of having it on my old computer that failed and go has the size. If I just uninstall the cloud from my old computer will know that it was uninstalled freeing my additional use.

    Hi Kathleen_K_photo,

Before you uninstall the creative applications cloud deactivation is required. To disable the subscription, you can launch any product (photoshop, dreamweaver, etc.)

go to help menu and you will find the option disable. This will disable the entire subscription and you don't need to do it for all products.

After you cancel the subscription, you can uninstall the products one by one.

You can then go to the new machine and connect to www.creative.adobe.com, connection, and then start downloading the products.

  • Vista Ultimate 64 hangs on resume from sleep or hibernation

I run a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64 since the installation, I tried for a week to stabilize 'sleep' about 60% of the time, the system would crash on Resume from sleep. The motherboard lit up and the two leds of DVD would be cycle but no hard drive activity light and no post or video that I have to do a second switch 4 then reboot to start. sometimes twice.
So last night, I found an article on how to enable Hibernation with a command prompt, and I did.  Hibernate is now having the same problem. any help?

    Dunka HI cottage

Try to change your setting of power for "EXAMPLE":

    CA
    45 minutes of sleep
    Hibernate 1 hour
    Disable hard drive EVER
    battery
    20 minutes of sleep
    Hibernation of 25 minutes
    Disable hard drive NEVER

Setting that allows you to 'Turn Off Hard Disk' to 'Never' windows hibernates to control of power off of the hard drive.

  • Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 may not resume from standby or hibernation with SP1

    Hello

    Details of the laptop: [my laptop: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook ie = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 131911]

I recently used Windows Update to install SP1 vista on my laptop, but since this installation I can't resume from standby or hibernation. (Service pack has successfully installed - according to Windows anyway).

At the resumption of his sleep, I get a blank screen.

    During the recovery from Hibernation, I receive a STOP error message: + Stop 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x82F11020, 0x9A9D9714, 0x00000000) + caused by * Classpnp.sys*.

After checking these forums, I have seen that Toshiba does not support SP1 + what is accurate? +

+ * If so when/how we will notify when Toshiba released a "patch" for compatibility Vista SP1? I'm guessing that via personnel TEMPO? *. +

Before installing SP1, I installed all the updates (from Microsoft and Toshiba) and had no problems; all the drivers are up to date.

Thanks for any answers in advance.

I guess that this happens because of a problem of compatibility between some pilots and SP1

    > After checking these forums, I saw that Toshiba does not support SP1 is that correct?
    Yes it's true.

    > If Yes, when and how will notify us when Toshiba released a "patch" for compatibility Vista SP1? I'm guessing that via personnel TEMPO?
I think that there should be information on the Toshiba driver page, support page or we will receive some information of Toshiba through applications of Tempo.

  • Pavilion g6-1d21dx: long time driver or BIOS on Pavilion g6-1d21dx number may not resume from sleep mode or Hibernate mode

When my g6-1d21dx Pavilion was still fairly new, Windows 7 has started to hang whenever I tried to resume from standby or hibernation, and I couldn't get back to work until I held the power button down to force the computer to restart.

Now, I did a clean install of Windows 32-bit 10, and everything works fine, except for - big surprise - repeated from the previous day and hibernation. Windows 10 adds quick start to the mixture, which also does not work properly, probably because it's a similar feature.

HP already explained the cause of this problem, or provided a fix? The BIOS I have is F.49, but the projection of BIOS newer on the product page is a F.48. Maybe I need to reduce my BIOS? I saw a post where someone has talked to return to F.46 to fix very similar if not same problem on another model of Pavilion g6. In any case, anyone who is familiar with this issue?

    More details:

If the quick start is activated, whenever I put him computer have a BSOD and reboot. Usually, the error is unexpected_store_exception but I also had kernel_data_inpage_error a couple of times. The computer appears in the standby mode and Hibernate successfully, but when I try to resume it turns his wheels for a little while and then just restarts, usually without error message. For the moment, I have quick start disabled and sleep and Hibernate in my power options.

    Thanks for any relevant information.

The solution for me was to install F.46 revision of the BIOS. I got F.49, and the latest version available on the support site is a F.48. I don't know if there is a downside to this...
