Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Can't turn on WIRELESS on a Dell Latitude E5520

I am working on a Dell Latitude E5520.  The laptop is running Windows 7 Professional.  It has an installed Dell DW1530 Wi - FI card.  The WI - FI card is disabled.  Whenever I try to activate the card, it goes through all the activation of the card queries, but when it's over the map is always disabled and grayed out.  With this laptop, fitness and starting over is not an option. I have seen this problem mentioned earlier in this forum, but none of the fixes offered work.

What I've tried so far.  Troubleshooting everything has been done with full privileges, with domain administrator and local administrator accounts. The first thing I tried was to uninstall the antivirus software and firewall.  I left this software on the laptop computer for troubleshooting all.  I tried to uninstall the drivers for the card.  I downloaded the latest drivers and reinstalled the drivers.  Unsuccessful. I repeated it in safemode, logged on as a local administrator.  Unsuccessful.

I have a similar laptop on-site with a similar wireless card that works.  I installed this card and repeat the steps above.  Unsuccessful.  I have re-installed the original WI - FI card.

I have a USB WIFI card that I know works with Windows 7.  I tried this USB WI - FI card.  Unsuccessful.

Given that 3 types of WI - FI cards do not work, it tells me that it is a problem of Microsoft because all cards WI - FI 3 act exactly the same way.  As usual, Microsoft support site is a great help.

A possible clue.  The connection is named 'Wireless Network Connection 3'.  When I tried to rename the connection to "Wireless network connection", it was rejected saying that this name is already used.  There is no "Wireless Network Connection" not listed, only 'Wireless Network Connection 3 ".  I intend to look in the registry for this hidden connection.

    Any suggestions?

I found how to fix this problem, finally.  I used the original Windows 7 installation DVD and made an upgrade in Place.  The Microsoft Article ID: 2255099.  It worked. I was able to save the operating system and all programs and personal files.   I wish that I never thought that earlier.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to help.

  • Screen turns black during the installation of Windows 8 on Dell Latitude E6400

    Hello

    I have a Dell Latitude E6400

    The specifications are:

    Intel Centrino 2

    4 GB OF DDR2 RAM

    HARD DRIVE 160 GB

    Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz

    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M 256 MB DDR2

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 8 pro 64 bit. The problem is that when I get to the stage where the installation application to connect to a wifi, all of a sudden, the screen goes black and then nothing happens. Sometimes I am able to move on to the next step where the installation process asks if I would like to use express settings or customize it. The same thing happens on this stage too. I could not go any further than this step.

I tried dozens of times, even tried 2 different iso files and event tried a 32-bit Windows 8.

Same thing happens evrytime, black screen and then nothing. I wasn't able to find that everything related to the internet.

One last thing, if it's a problem of display driver, I can't set either because I already formatted my HARD drive.

Can someone help me please:(c'est vraiment frustrant.)

  • Primary hard drive 0 not found Dell Latitude

    Hello

I just bought 2 notebooks of Dell Latitude D800 with no operating system. The first laptop is fine, but the second, when I turn it on it shows the Dell screen with the loading bar. The loading bar is to halfway to the end when it freezes. The system freezes on this screen for about a minute, then it beeps twice and a black screen that says:

"First hard drive 0 not found '.

No bootable devices - don't strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for Setup utility.

So I go into the BIOS and see under "internal hard drive" and he says: 'no '. I checked and make sure the hard disk has been activated, and it is.

I took the hard drive and reinstalled it. Nothing. The drive is a Toshiba 40 GB. In addition, mention, the reader makes a weird noise (not the click of death) and the hard drive on the laptop stays on all the time.

Other D800 I mentioned boots very quickly and displays a no. OS screen, which is very good.

    So is my dead HDD?

    Thank you

It is quite clear that the BIOS does not recognize the hard drive.  I suspect that the IDE controller on the motherboard has failed.

Given that you have two cell phones similar to fool around with, probably the fastest way to isolate the problem is to swap hard drives.  Call the laptop that does not have one and one that works B

If the laptop has now boots and cell B now is not, you know that the player who has been to A is bad.

If A laptop computer still does not start and portable B boots again, then you know that the two disks are OK and the problem is the motherboard or the connector of the drive in the laptop.

  • Boot Dell Latitude problem

Turns on when I start my laptop (a Dell Latitude D610) he displays that page load with the Dell icon, but it just goes to a page is black with the _ blinking in the top left corner and not keys working that they just beep noises and F8 will not start in safe mode (I sat to watch as the screen black for more than an hour and happened past)...
Someone knows what to do thanks in advance.

    Hi Taylorg,

If your computer beeps short one or two before starting, this is normal and your computer tells you the BIOS startup succeeded. If your computer beeps and does not start, a more serious hardware problem probably occurs.
A beep code means generally that a basic function was not able to start. A basic function could be reading memory, video display or be able to send information on a hard drive.
The most common problems that cause the beep codes are memory and heat-related failures caused by an accumulation of dust in the critical areas of cooling.
Check these conditions on your laptop and see if that helps fix the problem.

Whenever I try to update to service pack 2, I get the message following error code 800F0A09. He also mentioned problems with the driver for dell latitude. What can I do to fix this please.

    Thank you

    Hello

Please join Microsoft Community where you can find the necessary information on Microsoft products!

You can not install Vista Service pack 2 and get the error with code 800f0a09 and the message that there are problems with the driver for dell latitude.

The problem may occur if some of the components of the update are corrupt.

What is the full error message that you receive?

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to check if the problem is with the update components:

Method 1: Reset the update components

    See the site:

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Warning: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registry

Method 2: Run the system update readiness tool

    See the site:

System update scan tool corrects errors of Windows Update in Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947821

Method 3: Turn off the antivirus software

    See the site:

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, let know us and we would be happy to help you.

Unfortunately, I think you're out of luck and that's a bad system or storage (which is integrated into the system board). We purchased about 200 of these tablets for our school and saw about 30 of them give this error message or show the symptom that the light next to the camera turns on and stays on and nothing never seems on-screen.

For those who this happened under guarantee, the only solution was to replace the motherboard - a part Dell keeps in stock, if you don't have an extended warranty. I tried several times and they never have a source for me to buy new.

We were extremely disappointed by the product and not buy an another Dell Tablet in the future.

  • Dell Latitude 10 ST2e compressed can not boot from an external USB optical drive

Dell Latitude 10 ST2e compressed can not boot from an external optical drive USB (CD/DVD)

The BIOS has no setting for it. It will boot from a flash drive. I would like to boot from my CD of 2013 Acronis Recovery Console.  Anyone have any success to boot from a CD/DVD USB drive?

Yes, there is a way to do this.

I just did this to install Windows 10 from a DVD on a tablet of 10 Latitude by following these steps:
(Note: my version of BIOS is A08)

    1. turn off the 10 latitude power.
    2. attach a USB hub to the USB slot unique on the side of the tablet.
    3. fix a keyboard and an external USB CD drive to the USB hub.
    4. now press the button down on the side of the Tablet and simultaneously press the power button for 5 seconds (until see you the screen light up, but will be weak against black unlit).
    5. When you see the Dell logo, start typing on the F12 key (the lower right corner shows the option press the F12 key to choose single startup options)
    6. now start choosing appear with many options to choose from, including my CD/DVD drive.

Hope it will be useful to you.

    Hi all

I have a Dell Latitude E5540 I bought this second hand and the hard disk is formatted to a single hard disk and has no software of dell, he would be provided when new, can someone tell me if I can get the drive to factory condition as I want to use all the features of dell who has this laptop. I have no separate recovery partition, I tried the F12 key and there is no option of Dell to restore to factory condition as I said it is second hand and the shop I bought has a stupid policy to flatten the disk, which in turn eliminates all recovery options.

  • Dell Latitude E5510 - cannot activate my bluetooth

I have posted this question in another forum but thought it would be better here since it is specific Dell.

This is my first question on the site.
I have a problem where I can't turn on the bluetooth on my laptop. If someone could give me help fix me this problem I would be very grateful!

    Details of the laptop
    -Dell Latitude E5510.
    -Windows 7 32 bit.

    Problems
-The bluetooth led is not lit (the WiFi is turned on).
-L' is not a bluetooth icon in the system tray.
-It has no parameters in 'Control Panel' for bluetooth.
-It has no drivers in 'Device Manager' of bluetooth.

    Already tried troubleshooting
-Ensure that bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS.
    -Updated BIOS version A11.
-Downloaded and tried to install the drivers (R285455.exe, R260222.exe, R296919.exe). When I try to run R260222.exe, it tells me that it's incompatible. When I run the other two pilots, he extracted the elements but then asks me to 'turn on bluetooth using the wireless switch'. The switch is already on, but no light is the bluetooth symbol. There is a catch 22!
-Ensure to that 'Bluetooth Support Service' was launched.

I tried the solution for hours now and just have no idea what else to do. If I missed any information, please let me know.
I'm starting to think that there is no physical bluetooth adapter in my laptop at all.

It's the answer on another forum, I received, and when I checked my configurations of the original system, there was no mention of bluetooth:

Here's how to check the physical presence of the Bluetooth technology in a system Dell Ex510:

    • In the BIOS, it will show in the frame without wire, radio or Networking (sorry, I don't remember the exact menu section and I haven't the time to restart my computer now) something in the sense of "Bluetooth installed" and may list the model of module.
    • You can go to the Dell warranty status and click the Original tab Bluetooth Dell for Ex510 System Configuration module was 375. The search page (press CTRL + F) for her.
    • Control of physical presence is delicate and you should not do this unless you have experience re-Assembly of laptops. The procedure can be found here (Support of Dell).

You can meet, it's that switch radio on the front left of the palmrest is programmed to control the two WiFi & Bluetooth and it is currently disabled. The setting is in the BIOS in the same section as the toggling of the radios. You can set it to only to control wi - fi so that Bluetooth is controlled by its drivers in Windows.
