URGENT - HP Envy 4500 - bought today, each paper folds and tears

I just bought the HP 4500 printer all-in-one today because I need to print some documents for a new job starting tomorrow and don't want to go to an internet café. It was apparently a bad idea.

I bought the printer, set up wireless for my computer, etc. It prints the leaves very well, but EACH piece of paper it prints is folded in two corners and torn. Sometimes it comes out (slaughtered as shown), it sometimes causes a paper jam. Anyway the folding is the same.

NOTE: I can HEAR it crease the paper as soon as it feeds into. Its that feed fast noise and instant cracking. The rest should happen after that.

I cleaned the rollers, including smaller HP videos consider the most important. Nothing.

Solution please? I need this for tomorrow and am frustrated! I bought HP because they are supposed to work. Don't surprised theres no fix for it online, even if a lot of review this issue of paper folding / tear.

Hello

I'm the original on this poster. Good news - it get sorted. Bad news - I don't quite remember what I did.

What I remember, was that this was NO software / driver / install related. I've taken apart (only the bits that you are supposed to take part, pulling out the drawer on the bottom etc., remove the rollers, nothing else) and put the new.

I think THAT what was causing issues for me has been the bottom plate. I think - and perhaps wrong, for a long time that I looked at the instructions - he suggested that you pull slightly on the set down, or plastic type bit, when printing. To make my printer stop creasing / tearing, I now just don't remove anything. Everything I do is flip down that hatch at the front, but leave any otherwise entirely contained inside the unit (and make sure that the bottom plate is pushed as far as possible to the rear of the unit), and it works perfectly.

If it works - post a message here so that others know that it also works? A few others save some pain! Strange as HP don't rethink just this design as so many people have this problem and it is a very good printer otherwise! Frustrating.

  • HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one: cartridges and country

    History:

My father-in-law is living in Belgium, near the border.  He went to Holland for shopping sow, a promotion for a HP Envy printer and purchased.  Simple.  Then when I was visiting him, he asked me to install the printer.  I tried and it sucked!

Following the installation guide (a double-sided with only the images page), I removed the protection, under voltage, chose my country (Belgium), discovered the heads of cartridges and insert cartridges.  But the printer screen showed a message explaining that the cartridges were not intended for this printer.  They came out of the box the printer!

So time to seek the support of troubleshooting.  And I found this page http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02558798 explaining all the evils that you get if you cross a border with a HP product!

Assuming that the problem is related to this wonderful device...

WHY should I select a country?

WHY is there no clear warning on the box as 'to be used only for the Netherlands?

If the problem has some other cause...

WHERE can I find real support of troubleshooting?

    Conclusion:

    What is the lesson?

So far: do not buy the product HP more

While HP regionalize some inkjet products, the Belgium and the Netherlands are in the same region and use the same cartridges HP 301 in the Envy 4500 printer.

The question that you see is unrelated to the regionalization.  It is possible, that there is one grain of paper dust or other debris on the electrical contacts.  I would suggest the steps of troubleshooting in the paper here.  If this does not resolve the issue please contact HP.

    Hi kcoh193,

I'm really happy to learn that the printer works fine now. Thanks for letting me know.

It was very probably administrator rights on the computer, since you had to go around adding to full access to the temp folder. When logged on with administrator rights, you shouldn't do this step.

  • HP Envy 4500 printer will we ' print half picture

I bought a HP Envy 4500 printer today and I have problems printing, sending that one to the printer prints a little less than half page and then comes up with an error message saying cannot send the job "jobname" printer.

    I'm under Win 8 64 bit

configuration wireless printer (impossible to hard wire this unit)

Tried the plain paper and photo paper

    To update printer firmware

    PC software update

Tried both options for "print after winding" or "paper imidiedtly".

Tried to reduce the file size of photos (of 5.5 mb 2.2 MB)

Tried 3 other images that are much smaller in size

HP Print doctor says everything is fine

I ran so many tests, now I am running low on ink and I've only got the thing 4 hours ago.

Well, it worked for two runs and then started doing it again. I managed to find the problem for anyone who bought this printer and is having the same problem I try the following...

    Unplug the power cable

Unplug the USB cable (if used on USB)

Remove the CD from your PC (if it was)

    Then, uninstall all HP software.

Zone the printer, then take it back to the shop, you got him, of if it's something like the place I got mine since the after you explain the question the person will say just "yeh sure no problem" without even checking to see if there is a fault.

The person I spoke showed me a nice Epson printer taking after 5 minutes the connection and installation of discs worked the first time!

HP does not seem to have an email address or phone number to call for this situation.   Just need to know if my desire to 4500 can be fixed for free under the guarantee.    It is the only place to contact.   I called the three digits as points of service and all three are not points of service.

  • HP ENVY 4500 does not print a PDF file

I have Win7 HP laptop HP ENVY 4500 all-in-One printer wireless and iMac OS X 10.9.1 desktop. It prints all good document file formats, except a PDF file. When I try to print a page of a PDF doc't, via Adobe Reader (11.0.07), it prints 6 equidistant tiny portions of the original PDF page on a single sheet. All six parties are in the same area of the upper quadrant of the original PDF page. I tried many portrait, landscape and size configurations, but in vain. It will not print PDF of my iMac and PC browsers files. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and its driver a couple of times. It installs OK without error messages, but it will not print PDF. Also, I don't get any error messages when I try to print a PDF file. I don't see any documentation supplied with the printer printer to say that this HP all-in-one cannot print PDF doc'ts, and it seems to me that it would print a PDF file until several weeks ago. Please notify.

I was finally able to print PDF files. But it's been so long ago because it was fixed that I don't even remember what was the solution. But four possibilities come to mind: (1) is of course the "print as image file" option has been activated; (2) re-installed printer driver; (3) re-installed Acrobat Reader and ensured that browser and extensions of processing of s/w, if any, have been correctly selected for my printer. (4) corrected a wrong paper, the type, quality, or size option layout which may have resulted in a page layout or a different format from what should be the 'standard' to a PDF file. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. But if I have to determine exactly what I could do to get PDF printing to work properly, I will go straight to you. BTW, I certainly don't rely on an intermediate file conversion service or s/w to transfer my PDF files to a printable format. I hope this helps.

Thanks for getting back to me. After taking a quick glance in the Specifications of the printer under the tray capacity paper, the maximum weight is listed as up to 281gms (75 lb). The one you use is heavier (80 lb) that is why you see the question.

  • Want to 4500 All in One Printer: Envy 4500 and Photo paper

Recently, I tried to use my 4500 want to print photographs, using HP Premium Plus Photo paper. Each attempted printing resulted in the printer telling me that there is a paper jam. I would open it upwards, remove the paper (which has never been really stuck - just looks like he started getting into the printer and stopped) and try again... Paper jam. I don't have the paper in the tray - went out my plain paper. I am able to print correctly on plain paper, but it won't take photo paper. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Looks like there could be a problem with the rolls of paper, print settings, or the paper tray.

Please work your way through this guide to see if you can solve the problem, a 'Paper jam' error on HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one HP Deskjet Ink Advantage e-all-in-one 3540 Printer series.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

You have a photo that you can try to make a copy of, as a test? It would be to help eliminate the printing as the cause.

Please make sure that the paper type/quality settings are correct, for more information, please see this guide. HP ENVY 4500, printer Deskjet 3540 - change the Mac OS X print settings.

In addition, if you have access to a Windows computer running Windows 8.1 or earlier, it is an update of the firmware available for your printer. HP Envy 4500 series firmware upgrade to improve the performance of the printer.

If you have completed all the above steps and your product still has a problem, service the product.

  • HP Envy 4500: paper jam

I have a strange problem that nobody has ever seen on this forum that I can tell.

It not the elements how to print the document, wireless or wired or just straight up asking for an alignment page - sucks it the printer in a piece of paper, to spend some time 'impression' and then it jams. When I take the paper, nothing about this except for a black spot. The ink levels are both 90%. I took a flashlight and doing everything that I could to see if there is no actual jam. There are not. I cleaned both trays + rollers with alchol. When I open it upward to jam on, the book has no way to make even the print heads. It cannot continue beyond this section. I did nothing with it. It just started happening. Is this a problem with double-sided printing?

  • HP Envy 4500 will not print computer

    Hello

My HP Envy 4500 works perfectly for some time now.  Unfortunately, it stopped printing from my Dell laptop, running Windows7. It scans to the laptop very well.  It copies fine, and it prints from my iPhone fine.

I've reviewed a ton of messages and tried many things:

    * Uninstall/reinstall wireless (at least 8 times) - via the website https://123.hpconnected.com/activate/woobe/ENVY4500

    * Uninstall/reinstall via USB

    * ran doctor utility printing/scanning (or whatever it's called) and says it all looks very good

sending a test with a HP tool page is fine, however, the internal test via the tool HP Print page fails

I'm losing my mind and would be really grateful for the help.

    Thank you!
