  • USB dongle Wifi taking supported 802. 1 X

I need a Wifi Dongle USB that supports the Protocol from 802. 1 X.

The specific problem I am solving is that I am in a place of dead wifi in the office.  10 ft away the signal is very good.  I want to plug a dongle wifi at the end of a 10-foot USB cable to receive good reception.

Wifi office using 802 Protocol. 1 X so not all USB Dongles work.  I bought an Edimax EW-7822UAC, but it does not support the Protocol from 802. 1 X on OSX.  The source of this information is the Edimax support person I spoke on the phone.  He said that nothing the Edimax wifi dongles support 802. 1 X on mac (support on Windows).

Assuming you mean 802.11 x wifi is a standard. A dongle 802.11 x wifi isn't different protocol-wise of your bed in your computer wifi card.

The difference is required to push the dongle usb drivers. Some dongle manufacturers only create drivers for Windows. If you choose a dongle manufacturer that provides Mac drivers to enable the dongle work with your MacBook Pro.

  • Satellite P10 and Netgear USB dongle use

    Hello

NETGEAR insist it is a Toshiba system problem...

Whenever I try to inslall wg111v2 cherif I get... Failed to install... "RegDBCreateKeyEx failed", and/or... "cannot read the control on the Netgear server file.

I don't have this problem with my other non-Toshiba Office.

HM, looks like some related software question, but it s easy for netgear say you it s a problem with toshiba. It is like moving around customers as on a chessboard. :(

But okay, now you´re here and we all will try to help you. You say you don t get the problem on your machines 'NON-TOSHIBA.

So, I would say that you should first try to recover your machine with the recovery media, and then try to install the USB dongle. If it really works then it was just a problem of software and it s resolved but if not then come back and we'll see the next today.

  • Satellite A205: Bluetooth USB dongle will connect is AirCable

I plugged a dongle Bluetooth USB generic on my Satellite A205 and used for several hours over a period of three days to connect to a Bluetooth Serial AirCable to run my telescope controller. The generic dongle worked after downloading a stack of Toshiba.

Whenever I turned the Bluetooth it incremented COM port numbers
My telescope controller will not recognize the Comms above 20 so I deleted the Comms that really were not used.

Connects the USB Bluetooth dongle is no longer the AirCable Bluetooth series. * It worked before and will not work

I tried three Bluetooth USB dongles different, including TrendNet, AirCable and credits.
I can not connect the telescope controller AirCable series Bluetooth with all the dongles.

_ * Someone can suggest a monitor Bluetooth that will work, or suggest a way to get my A205 to work with one of my Bluetooth USB dongles? * _

    Don

What battery Bluetooth has been bundled with your Bluetooth adapter?
You must use it. If it was the Toshiba Bluetooth stack while I would use the custom Mode of it to set up the COM port that you like, for example, COM6.

  • For Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 5000 USB dongle

My USB dongle for wireless and mouse 5000 keyboard broke. Where can I find a new dongle?

    Try here:

How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals

I'm not sure that they will be able to replace the dongle only, I believe that the dongle and the material is matched or paired to work with each other, that way you don't end up controlling a mouse or a keyboard in another room...

  • Acer XC-605. I have a wireless usb device and a usb dongle. Can I replace my w wireless card

Acer XC-605. I have a wireless usb device and a usb dongle. Can I replace my card without extra wire with usb3 Sockets. If so, should what material I go for? Front Sockets have been botched again and are now worse thn useless. Thank you.

Thanks Asdfguy86. The map you suggested was not good because it was full of size, but, thanks to your liknk, so I knew what to ask and what seearching I just added "low profile."

My search came up with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008N3FPXS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This has also been enlarged but came with an alternative mounting plate.

There is a free space above so I was able to move my antenna wi - fi so far and release the slot for pci express to the new card usb3 so I was even able to keep my embedded wireless and bluetooth. What a result!

  • USB Dongle Bridge with wireless static IP XP

My computer is connected to the wireless router that is connected to the switch through which I am to access other computers.

Whenever I connect my USB dongle to access internet, my offline wireless network but I am still connected to the router!
Here, I'm limited to use only one network at a time.
I tried the network bridge, always even (no advanced layout need to be changed?)
Tried to ICS (ICS should not use this feature in an existing network with domain controllers Windows 2000 Server, the servers DNS, gateways, DHCP servers, or systems configured for static IP addresses)

I'd be very happy that can help solve this problem.

Your problem is probably the "metric".  I'm doing this from memory because I don't have a machine XP here, so maybe it's a little different but...
Go to your network control panel.  There should be an entry for your USB dongle and the other for the wireless.  For each of them, right-click on it and select "Properties".  In the window, scroll down if necessary, and then double-click TCP/IP.  In the next window, click on "Advanced".  There should be a box here that is usually checked that says "Automatic metric.  What you need to do is to uncheck this check box and enter a number in the field "the Interface metric.  Put a different number for your USB dongle interface and your wireless (for example, 5 and 10) interface.  The smaller of the two numbers will be the adapter that will be used for the internet... so if I read your post correctly, the USB dongle must be the lowest numbers.

As your USB dongle is probably the slowest connection, it probably by default a metric higher and therefore is not selected when you use the default settings.

  • Chromebook C720 - no mobile internet connection with my usb dongle - even not recognized.

    Hello

Your help please. I use an Acer C720 Chromebook bought in England but I am now at the Brazil and I can't access my mobile data plan - the operator is TIM and the dongle is Olivetti, Olicard 160. I can access the WiFi from the nearby square, but this means I have to perch on the edge of 3 inches from my room window, is not comfortable. I have an Acer Aspire One D255 with me as a return to the top (good job, I) and it uses the same USB dongle without any problems - but in 3 years much more slow and clumsy as the chromebbok for inernet - but it works. Back to my problem, why when I plug the USB to TIM with SIM in my Chromebook C720, is it not recognised? All opinions more welcome, because I'd use this Chromebook sitting at my table, if possible to the Brazil! Thank you very much, Baldocci - a semi luddite.

Not a lot of support for this kind of material in Chromebooks. I've heard more support cell adapter is coming, but I've heard that for a while. Many even dongles are not working with Mac so your best option is a personal mobile device, MyFi. In this way, you can connect your Chromebook through the WiFi of this adapter part.

  • Keyboard Lenovo Multimedia Remote shipped without USB dongle

    Just one complaint

I ordered a keyboard about 4 weeks ago. It took a while for lenova to ship,

I received it last week, when opening the box, I see a keyboard/battery and manual, the box is missing usb dongle.

Without the dongle, I can't use the keyboard, I tried to contact the sales team, they mentioned something about this return shipping and wait for a new shipment.

This seems quite complicated to get this working. I have no instructions on how to send it back and if it will cost money to RMA, it adds to my suffering

the wireless usb dongle is located in the battery compartment.

  • Too slow internet USB dongle connection

    Hello.

I use the usb dongle for my internet connection at home and I always face problem of idle, I heard that if I disable usb energy saving plan then the dongle are still working on 100% and he can help solve my problem. I understand that for most problems come from the radio part of my internet provider, but they do really anything to solve my problem, but everything is the same, and I try to check the speed of other factors dongle is 14.2 Mbps but mine is very unstable, sometimes even 50 Kbps. Please explain to me how the power of affect to my dongle USB port works.

    Hi AshotMnatsakanyan,

    ·         Have you checked the problem in safe mode with networking?

    Try the following.

Method 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and see if the problem persists. Report of the results.

Method 2: Check if the problem persists when energy saving is disabled.

    a. connect your power adapter. Click on "Start" on your computer screen, then select "Control Panel".

    b. double-click the icon "Power Options." Click the "Power management" tab and select "Never" under "Turn off hard disks, standby system, System Hibernates and turn off monitor" none of these devices will prevent energy saving mode.

    c. click the "Hibernate" tab and uncheck the option 'Enable Hibernation'. Click 'OK' to save your changes

  • Bluetooth USB dongle frustration

    Hello

I have a T60 2007GAU.  Apparently I don't have Bluetooth integrated in accordance with my search for the model and the lack of a Bluetooth icon in the Device Manager.  FN + F5 displays only the wi - fi button.

    I use Windows 7 Pro 32 bit

I installed a generic Bluetooth dongle and it had my paired Motorola headset and was able to listen.  Something happened and the Motorola is no longer, and I don't have a Bluetooth icon in the Device Manager.

I tried to use the "BluetoothDriverInstaller.exe" and get the message: "no not configured bluetooth devices found.  You must uninstall your existing bluetooth driver (stack) and restart your computer. »

I googled and come empty handed with regard to how uninstall existing bluetooth drivers because there is nothing showing in Add/Remove Programs, as everything I found was asked to me.

When I plug the USB dongle, it does not appear in hidden icons, or the USB port of the connected devices.

Frustrated, I hope that the Forums HP has answers for me...

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

HP is not a product called "T60 2007GAU" are you sure it's a HP product?

  • Looking for products with specific needs: USB dongle to create WiFi + send traffic through SOCKS proxy

    Hello

I need a product for a specific use, and it is not easy to obtain the necessary information with the data I found on the web. So I was wondering if anyone knows a Linksys product that fits the need.

I am looking for a USB dongle to connect to a Windows PC. This USB dongle should * create * a WiFi network and an iPhone would connect to the WiFi LAN. The PC would then play the role of a gateway, that she would share his Internet Ethernet RJ45 connection with the devices connected to created WiFi. In addition, all the WiFi LAN traffic should be sent to a given SOCKS (v5) Proxy (which is actually on localhost).

You know a product + utility that meets these requirements?

    Thank you in advance!
    Kind regards

This is not actually a function of the adapter wireless and more attached to the PC operating system.

If you are running a Windows PC is easy. Given that existed in Windows XP Internet connection sharing. It simply comes down to enable Internet sharing on the LAN adapter and assigning the host adapter wireless network connection. Then, you will need to add a wireless Ad - Hoc for your devices in the customer network to connect too. I guess that the wireless adapter must support wireless Ad - Hoc networks, but I think they all do.

Linux\Mac have similar support sharing Internet.

There is also software available that you can install to create a hotspot Wi - Fi with your PC.
