URGENT update for Thunderbird - mailing list is broken

  When I run Windows Update it shows an important update available. "Update for Windows Mail Junk e-mail filter [December 2009] (KB905866).
  When I try to install the update, it downloads, create a restore point and starts to install the update.  The green bar goes all the way to the right and then I get a "failed" message with a 8007371B unknown error code.
  KB905866 appears in the list of installed programs.  I tried to uninstall and rerun the update of Windows, but he continues to go through the same sequence of activities having the same error message for result.

  1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

  2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

  3. right click on the file that you saved in #1 above and select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

  1. you have made no changes to the computer before the broadcast took place?
  2 are you able to install all other updates?
  3. do you have the 64-Bit Windows Vista installed on the computer?

  Windows Mail does not highlight for bad luck or an AutoCorrect entry.
  Windows Live Mail will highlight with red, but not auto correct. It will show you the possible spelling on the spelling list.

  Either you empty your emails in MS Wpord then copy to Windows Mail, or install Windows Live Mail.
  Do not give up Windows Mail, they have to coexist, except that you must choose a default.
  Windows Live Mail will automatically copy evrything you have in Windows Mail when you have finished installing.

• I don't know why I had problems with FF 3.6.16 and the last update for thunderbird

  I'm at the Canada and for some reason, downloads for the two FF 3.6.12 and Thunderbird was last updated was the BritishVersions is why I UK search engines, not the US versions is maybe why I'm struggling with my email and addons. The other 2 computers in my house is the American version.

• So, apparently, I got today another update for thunderbird. Now NONE of my emails will download. Never had this problem before.

• MY POP3 accounts receive emails with lack and truncated attached files. This started only after the most recent update for Thunderbird Version 38.1.0

  I recently started having truncated the attachments in the emails to my POP3 accounts. The first I noticed was on 27 July 2015.

  I had no luck by disabling addons, and I found that I'm unable to start in SafeMode (another problem to solve), but in research and the elimination of other culprits (malware) this problem stopped.

• Update to Thunderbird 45.5.1 just broke my ability to receive messages.

  Update for Thunderbird 45.5.1 is automatically installed and I restarted Thunderbird.

  I have 3 accounts that automatically try to receive emails. Thunderbird to receive more emails.

  I used Thunderbird for years without a problem.

  Restart Thunderbird in safe mode makes no difference

  Obviously, something in this last update broke it.

  Restart the system after reinstall Thunderbird 45.5.1 did the trick!
