USB 6008 OEM AO on the ground

I have a few USB 6008 OEM modules that I want to use for, among other things, analogue output. However, the connector does not have a spindle of "AO GND". Unlike the non - OEM that has pins "GND" that can be used for AIO or DIO, OEM has pins specifically labeled "GND AI" and had GND "- but there is not a"AO GND"or, indeed, a"GND"."

Use the PIN 'HAVE GND'?

CASE NO.

Well Yes; all patterns are common on this device.

    Hello

I have a problem with some NI USB 6008 OEM.

They do not work! I have attached to my PC and the light starts flashing, Windows detects new hardware and everything's fine (the same way it usually works with the regular OEM-NIUSB6008 Board, not).

Suddunly led turns OFF, and the jury never come back to life again. I run the MeasurementStudio, and I see the boards with a red cross or without serial number (when they are shown as if they were present in the system).

I bought 10 boards and I don't want to try with anyone, because I don't know what is happening and I don't want to kill them all :-(

We have developed some equipment with regular tips and there is no problem... What is the mystery with the OEM ones?

    Help, please.

    Thank you!!

    Hi Luciano,

Thanks for your response and documentation on the flashing led behavior. It helped me a lot to know that if the led is flashing, it could be because it is not properly initialized.

In fact, I had the 8.1 DAQmx version installed on my PC that worked perfectly well with regular advice to the NI USB-6008 (boxed version).

When I plugged the OEM boards, the system seemed to load the drivers and then a message pops up saying "your device is ready to use", but as you know when I opened MAX he didn't have a serial number, or sometimes, he appeared with a red cross.

So, I downloaded a newer driver: DAQmx 8.8. ... I installed it on my PC (first remove DAQmx8.1) and it worked

So, the problem is solved! The problem was, I think, because of the bad initialization of the device. The problem is solved by installing a DAQmx 8.8 version. It works very well with regular and USB-6008 OEM boards.

  • USB 6008: problem with using the 5V output

I am a new user of products OR.

I have a USB 6008 and I want to connect the output constant 5v (PIN 31) leg of VCC to a pressure sensor.

My device is connected to the computer, but I get no signal output. Do I have to do something to activate the output or is it constant? If so, why can I not see a signal in the meter?

    Thenk you for your help.

    Dikla

The 6008 has an amout 5V output limited power available.  Make sure that your sensor attracts less then the 200mA who is spec'd for the 6008.  In addition and I have to ask, you have the sensor on the ground ground 6008?

  • USB 6008 - how to display the two position linear pot (mm) and output (volts) in LabVIEW?

I have a USB-6008. I have a linear potentiometer attached to the USB DAQ. Now I can view the output voltage of pot in LabVIEW through the AI0 on USB DAQ channel. However, I would also like to be able to show the position of the stem of the linear potentiometer (mm) that generates this tension. can anyone tell how to proceed?

Since there is no lag, just use wired the primitive multiply with a constant of 20 to one of its entries, thread the other entry to your reading the voltage. Wiring of multiply it to a digital display to show location output.

  • Equivalent to USB-6008 with a single output channel?

I would like to integrate the features of the usb-6008 in a small package and really need a release. Is there a suitable product?

    Hi Srapoport,

You are looking for something similar, but physically smaller than the box USB-6008 features? If so, I don't think we have any Renault USB which look very similar, if all small.

If, on the other hand, you are looking for something that allows you to develop your own system or enclosure box USB-6008, I would say looking at our OEM hardware. In particular, we have a USB-6008 OEM version, which allows you to integrate into your own system.

  • USB-6008 how to move an executable file to another computer.

Hello Forums NOR!  Please bear with me as I'm new to products OR as well as this forum.  Hope I have write in good advice.  I'm an electronics technician with over 30 years of experience in a variety of hardware and software that is trying to move an executable file from an old computer to Windows XP on a new computer Win 8.

First of all, I just moved the file .exe itself.   When it is run, it produces an error dialog box: "Unable to locate the LabVIEW run-time engine" "this executable requires a 2011 version (or compatible) LabVIEW Run - Time Engine."

Then I ran the installation disc driver supplied with the USB-6008 module.  Now, the executable will start but it does not seem to connect with the USB-6008, because it does not have the digital I/o.

I can run NI MAX and see the USB module as well as test the analog and the digital I/o so I know the hardware works.

I've been surfing on the knowledge base and found references to .dll & .vi type support files, but have no idea of which ones to get and where they might be.

This is possible without having to recompile the exe file?  I have no access to the source files.

    Thank you!

  • USB-6008 and XP64bits?

    Hi all

    I just received a unit NI USB-6008.

From the data collected on the site, I understand that the there is no support for Windows XP 64-bit operation.

    Is this fair?

    Is it possible to do?

    Any help is welcome.

    I thankt you very much

  • fiber optical sensor su19 110 115 a 126 vs nor usb 6008

Hi expert... I am looking for idea or help on my project. I try to get the measure of mention nor USB 6008 sensor output. In fact, I'm new with nor peripheral usb n still study n the search on internet or n. forums I found an idea to connect the sensor by aoi, but I can't seem to get a measurement any. Is the sensor can connect directly to the device usb or need some custom wire diagram between them. Thanks in advance

First of all, it is useful if you name the manufacturer of the sensor. A single part number means nothing to most of us.  You use the sensor fiber-optic Pepperl + Fuchs? Even better is to display the technical/manual plug of the sensor or links to them.

The data sheet that I found for the sensor to Pepperl + Fuchs is not very well written, in my opinion. It seems that the outputs are impulses with dependent amplitudes of the voltage and the frequency or the timetable set by the mode of operation.

If it's the device you use, the only way you have any possibility to decode the outputs with the USB-6008 box is to measure with an analog input and then process the data in the software. According to the supply voltage, you will probably need a voltage divider to reduce the output voltage of the sensor to a level compatible with the DAQ hardware.  You also won't be able to use the high speed of the probe because the heart rate exceeds the Nyquist limit. In standard mode, you mighte be OK, but you can use a single channel of the USB-6008 to stay in the Nyquist limit.

  • USB 6008

    Hi alls!

I NI USB-6008, when I connect the outputs to relay, theses reaay deliver it not work, if the output be connected relay output 5 volts, but when I connect the relay I don't have pressure, I have to do? to resolve this problem.

    Thank you

    Best regards

Also, assuming that the USB-6008 doesn't have enough power to drive the relay, it is pretty easy to use a transistor as a switch, assuming that you have a different power supply available.

Page 3 - 4 has very good tutorials for this:

Is there another amplifier chip that would work up to this temperature, or should I resign me to use the unamplified signal and get a very inaccurate (~ 30/division) the temperature reading?

The AD595 has a range of-200 C to 1250 C, here is the data sheet:

  • Incorrect value for analog output USB-6008. Cannot not out more than 3V

I use USB-6008 analog IO, but the analog output (AO0 or AO1) can go up to 3 - 3.5V. The output can follow accurately the value of 0 to 2, 5V, but then he start the values adjusted trolling and not can not spend you 3.5V exponentially.

The only strange thing the entire circuit is that I connected all patterns (analog source and I/O 5V) between them, but I don't see what affect the output.

    Kind regards

Thanks for the quick reply Ana.

It is not the Council NOR, nor the Council of motorization. Apparently, the interface for motor control (motor spirit C: solutions - cubed.com), load the analog output. A tension following actually isolated op amp output USB-6008 and solved the problem.

  • Chip exchanged on the issue of USB-6008

I have a USB-6008 data acquisition that went wrong in a set-up.  The MCU was getting very hot while it is plugged (I had a ground problem that it fried).  I ordered a new microcontroller and succeeded him, now he does not become hot at all when it is plugged in but I need for the flash I think.  The argument of doing nothing, the indicator light is not flashing and the computer does not even recognize whether he has a connected device if he acknowledges.

Has anyone here done a repair like this?

Where can I get the software to Flash the chip and can be done on my site?

    Thank you all,

    Hi ChillyWilly,

You should contact the Customer Service and seek to return the unit.  If it is within 30 days of the purchase, this should not be a problem and would be much easier to try to flash the device yourself.  You will need the serial number of the device when you call.  Hope this helps!

  • DAQ USB-6008 will be able to power and record voltage for UMS T5 blood pressure at the same time?

I would use my NI USB-6008 to power my blood pressure monitor UMS T5 (http://www.ums-muc.de/en/products/tensiometer/t5.html) but also to take readings of it, but I don't know if it's possible to do it properly. The power supply for the instrument can be as low as 5V, I can easily get the dedicated + 5V channel. I'm able to feed the instrument and connect it to an analog input on the 6008 and measure a voltage in differential mode. However, when you read the documentation of support for the instrument, I find the following:

"Potential pitfalls of data acquisition: the pressure transducer is configured in a full Wheatstone bridge, the input voltage and mV signal output can be connected to the same reference (mass)." Therefore, the mV output signal can be measured using a differential voltage measurement. Therefore, do not make an asymmetric measure of pressure transducer mV output. "(http://www.decagon.com/assets/Uploads/MeasuringUMSTensiometerswithnon-UMSControlandDataAcquisitionSystems.pdf)

My understanding is that the 6008 can take a differential measure if I attach the signal '+' and the signal "-" to the analog inputs of positive and negative terminals. However, it seems that all the ports of ground on the 6008 are grounded to the same reference, which would make my measure of invalid tension according to the above paragraph. So my real question is: if I try to record the voltage with one of the analog inputs on the 6008 in this way, is the valid measurement? Or I need to find a separate power supply, with a different reference field to ensure that the measure is accurate?

The technical details of this device is very poor. The manual is not much better. Companies that want to sell scientific equipment should publish decent cards or get out of business.

In section 3.4.3 General requirements the device is described as a "bridge not amplified circuit.  This information along with the impedance of the bridge should be in the specifications, because it is essential to apply the device under any circumstances other than the nominal behavior in 10.6 V.

The answer to your question is:

You can use it with the box USB-6008.  The 5 V supply will result in output voltages a little less than half (5/10.6) the voltage specified in nominal conditions. You can use the differential input mode on the box USB-6008.  The absolute input voltages will be approximately 2.5 V with the 5 V power supply. This voltage is in the range of the aircraft. The differences are likely to be less than 100 mV. The resolution of the USB-6008 on the + /-1 V is located about 0.5 mV so your resolution of pressure will be about 1% of full scale. The voltage input impedance and termination of the USB-6008 will present a few errors.  These can be in the order of 5 to 10%. I can't predict much better without the missing bridge impedance specification.  These errors should be relatively constant and systematic. A calibration of the whole system - sensor and together hardware DAQ should allow you to compensate for a large part of this error.

  • Consistency of the NI USB-6008 device multiple numbering on several computers

I have some equipment that we built that contains 2 units of acquisition of data NI USB-6008 to test the product. The test software is written in C++ with NI DAQmx. Everything works fine, except that when plug us the test on another PC, the two units DAQ hardware get their reverse numbering system. This means that what was 'Dev1 ai0"on one machine becomes ' Dev2/ai0' on the second machine and vice versa. We have only two machines, we are working on – is it possible to configure the hardware to enumerate identically on both machines? Or do we need to identify the two Renault by any other method?

    Thank you

    Colby

    What happens to Colby,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for your question.  There are two different ways that you can ensure that you always reference the same camera.  The devices list in your system in the order that they were added, so the first way would be to always plug in the same order.  This isn't really the most reliable way to do things, so you can use the nodes property DAQmx.

Now, I hope you will forgive my text based on coding is terrible, but the functions you need are DAQmxGetSysDevNames() and DAQmxGetDevSerialNum().  I'll leave the coding to you, but the Names property will turn all of the devices in your system.  You can then pass these and get the serial number of the device that will never change.

For LabVIEW users who come on this post, here is what your code will look like:

You will want to be aware that this second approach will not work if you have an OEM application where all devices that you deploy will have a different serial number.  I hope this helps.

  • Beyond the limits of voltage on USB 6008?

I use a USB-6008 to measure analog differential in the range of 3 to 5.3 V. I chose this range, because outside this range, I'm not interested in what the tension is, knowing that his "on the rail", but to aid resolution of the ADC in this range.

So for a signal of ~0.05 supply V, I expected to read 3V, telling me that the voltage is lower than 3V, but again it returns 0.05v?

As it was unexpected for me, could someone please explain what can / should I expect of my USB6008 of the responsed to the signals that are the limits? Is there an effect of "rollover"? Should you return the value to the limit? Depends on how far the limit is?

    Thanks for your help!

Entry level do not think that way. You specify the range is that you wait for the signal and the DAQmx driver will set the most appropriate range that the device supports. The actual ranges are indicated in the guide. In your case, because you specify a max of 5.3, the device would be defined the +/-10 volts range.
