USB device detected by Windows 7 but I don't see any records or device in MY COMPUTER

My Windows 7 manager defrosting can detect a storage device Seagate 150 GB but MY COMPUTER cannot see him defrosting, so I can't open my old XP files with this device connected to the outside.  I tried to connect the device internally but am no farther than the same problem, thanks. Dunstan

you mean the files are hidden inside your hard drive or hard drive is not detected? u can see it in Device Manager?

(1) try to change / assign a different letter for the drive through disk management, if it is no longer visible through the Disk Manager

(2) if files and folders are hiddin use the attrib command

Open the command prompt run as admin and go inside your hard disk by typing the letter of the hard disk on the commnand line

For example D:

then use attrib - a-s-h - r-* /s /d

(3) try to run usbdirver auto http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9643528 microsoft fixit
