Hi, when I try to install vista that Home Premium 32 bits on the computer of my son, through the installation of loading files with the gray bar at the bottom, then goes to the screen language selection, at this stage, I can not select anything using the keyboard or the mouse. There is no cursor visible. Keyboard and mouse both work fine in the bios and on other machines. Have used other keyboards and mice on the machine in question, but that makes no difference. Tried another copy of vista, no difference. Tested on Windows 7 install and everything works fine!
Very confused, thinking that it must be a driver problem, but how about him? Any help is appreciated!
Hi Rickydg,
Thanks for posting. Please contact ASUS and see if there is a BIOS update available for your system. Update the BIOS and then try to install again.
I hope this helps! Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

When I click on the Windows 7 Upgrade nothing happens and the program does not start.
This is on a Dell Vostro 1520.
I'm trying to reinstall an os upgrade Windows 7 32 bit.
I am currently using Vista 32 bit. I sell the dell so I formatted and reinstalled 32 bit Vista OS.
The computer was running on an operating system Windows 7 before the reinstall.
Now when I click on the Windows 7 upgrade it does not load.
When I try to open since the reboot it will not open either.
What now?
Hey, Slugger,
New installation leaves you a better overall installation,
Installation custom own steps
1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known problems that might affect installation and if you can install the 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

To avoid losing everything that you will need to save copies of all files, photos and other information that you want to keep an external storage device. Windows Easy Transfer is a free tool allows you to copy your files (but not programs) from your PC and then transfer them back after you have installed Windows 7. If you don't want to use Windows Easy Transfer, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick or CD/DVD.

Depending on what you have installed, you may be able to download programs from the Internet.
4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)." Note: 32 to 64-bit requires restart and boot from the DVD.
5. when Windows 7 is installed, you can use Windows Easy Transfer (or a different backup method you used) to restore your files & settings and use your installation disks to reinstall all your programs. Then you're done - take advantage of Windows 7.
Steps 2, 3and 4 are recommended for Dell not offering systems not Windows 7 installed at the factory. Hello
Since you said it worked very well recently, I'll try to do a system restore at this point in time.
See this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore?SignedIn=1
In addition, see the response of the Meghmala and follow the instructions listed there. I think that the three method might be the best of the bunch for you, but they have all the right steps.

Whenever I turn on my computer or it wake up from hibernation, a message from the task bar appears saying "USB device not recognized". However, there is nothing plugged one of my USB ports. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I just bought a unit of the electronic cigarette, manufacturer is "Innokin Cool Fire IV", the usb charger plugged on Acer laptop and comes to the screen "USB device not recognized". I loaded different brand before without problem, I don't know what to do and I am NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS! My settings are at "install updates automatically" and I DON'T WANT WINDOWS 10! Can someone help me please? Thank you for taking the time to read this.
This seems to indicate that the charger has actually been detected as a device, but Windows can not work it out.
Normally such a device should only connect to 5v and 0v pins and have no connection with the pins of data, in this way, that it will not be seen by Windows. I would be concerned by the quality of the device if it has some form of data connection. If you want to continue with this charger, that I would recommend to use a power supply of 5v USB instead of risking the USB port of the laptop, a lot less expensive if it does not. It has been reported several eCig Chargers catch fire. Something like this:

USB device not recognized... Unplug the thing does NOT work
It baffles me that THOUSANDS of people have this problem, or a variant of it, and no ONE at Microsoft or elsewhere also offers a real solution. Unless of course you want to count the method "unplug your computer", which is the most foolish band-aid for a problem I never heard, even if it works for a lot of people (most). I, unfortunately, am one of those for which the "disconnect" method magic does NOT work. I tried everything what all other posters and responder suggested (BIOS upgrade, change Legacy BIOS definition Enable to disable to activate again, driver updates, uninstall all USB, full power down and restart hours later, use CMD prompt to show only devices, etc.) and do not know what else to try. I would really like to see a REAL answer as to the cause of the majority of the questions posted about the USB error outside the usual "restore your settings, use your restore disk, unplug it, replace your USB key, etc etc etc. HEY! MICROSOFT! SOLVE THE PROBLEM! OR, Hey, here's an idea, a news for you, I'm sure that... don't they exude products until they have been tested (NO! I mean really, fully tested [see XBox 360 RROD])
In case anyone reading this is a real working solution, I'm on a Toshiba A135-S2386, Vista Home, and each USB port is unusable on any device. All ports feeds the device and noise sounds to indicate that a USB device was attached and then proceeds to the display of the error "USB device not recognized" and shows and shows an unknown device connected. It does this for any USB device.
FINALLY: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT POST A REPLY IF YOU USED THE METHOD OF "DISCONNECT", AND IT WORKED. Grats to you for fixing your computer, but I can just not read another 400 posts of "wow it worked for me great fantastic" when it does NOT work for everyone. I need something new and real. (Sorry to be all grumpy, but I'm tired of these kinds of problems from companies making billions off the coast of junk, defective, half finished, produced a car!) "You listen to Bill?)
UPDATE: just ran a scan of the system file Confirmation via an administrator command prompt and it's clean...
ALSO - was not that before, but now whenever I do a complete power down / reboot thing that it gives me a "Bad Checksum" error and I have to reset the date and time in the BIOS. I need to change the battery in MB? As I said it did not have this before and the USB error was produced, but could this be the problem? Bad battery MB CMOS?The bios of your motherboard is probably damaged.
step 1. See if you can find a previous version of the bios of your motherboard and return date of the bios.
step 2. Find the latest version of the bios of your motherboard and update your bios.
Do not use a registered version of your current version.
To check the problem is the motherboard or operating system. find something like a live Ubuntu CD
http://www.Ubuntu.com/desktop/get-Ubuntu/download.
or
Make a Ultimate Boot CD for Windows
http://www.UBCD4Win.com/index.htm you are using windows xp or borrow a copy to UBD4WIN.
Both of the above run in memory (does not load on hard drive.
Both a bit slow, but are excellent tools.
Works like a normal computer.
If you can see you USB devices, magicjack, ETC. your BIOS is not corrupt or motherboard problem.
In normal windows if you see not the USB devices, magicjack, etc your windows install is corrupt.
Reload Windows of difficulty.
If you you do not see the magicjack, USB devices, ETC., your BIOS is corrupt motherboard or other problem.
Redo your BIOS as described above.
All other unwanted do not work , he was done !

I can't get my printer recognized by plug-and-play. I have installed a printer manually, but still can not get to work. All boards
Hello Kirk,
I'm not sure what you mean by "manually installed", but you need a print driver for the printer recognized by Windows. Go to this page to download the driver you need for whatever version of Windows you have: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=14497&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=25522&prodTypeId=18972&lang=en&cc=us .
Once you have downloaded the right print driver, I let the computer do the installation. NOTE: you may need to completely uninstall what you've done "manually" so that the correct driver is working correctly. See the HP Web site for more information (I'd do it, but I do not know what operating system you have and its depth of Bit (32 or 64)).
Post here if you need further instructions or assistance (be sure to include your OS and Bit depth). Let me know how you fare.
Kind regards

Satellite L30: Usb device not recognized
I have a problem with my laptop L30.
When I connect my phone or a flash drive or external hard drive, it is said: Usb device not recognized one of the usb devices malfunctioned.
Tried to reinstall windows did not help...is there a solution?
Hello
Hmm. First of all, you should unplug all external USB devices.
Then go to Device Manager and remove it all concentrators root USB and USB host controllers.
Reboot the laptop. After this procedure, the operating system should recognize and should install new ports.
Now you can connect to a plug - and play instruments. These devices should be recognized automatically. But some external USB devices need additional drivers.
Usually these drivers are provided with the USB device.I would recommend this review if necessary!
