USB Flash drive problem

My USB FLash drive is a Transcend JF V30 4 GB, the problem is when I connect it, it shows the safe removal icon in the system tray, but don't show as a removable disk in "Cpmputer. I've included a screenshot.

If the screenshot isn't visible, click here

It is probably a case of unassigned drive (USB key).

1. right click on my computer icon

2. click on manage.

3. go in "Disk management" / removable devices and assign a drive letter it manually.

4. right click on the drive without letter & click on "change drive letter and paths...". »

5. click on 'change '.

6 assign an alphabet.

7. click on OK.

There should be an unassigned drive exists in the disk management table. I'm so sure because your USB 'plug & play' detects the drive & drive (Hardware) is also correct on the other machine.

  • USB Flash drive problems

I have a USB key that does not work. It's a drive 8 GB flash USB 3.0 which has been formatted and works on my Macbook Pro. The problem comes when I try to use it on a Windows device.

When I format it under OSX Extended it appears under Windows but is empty.

When I format it in FAT, under Windows it says that the device must be formatted first

Either way, when I go to format the device on Windows it says that is only 200 MB space

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you want to use a USB flash drive on the cross-platform (Win, Linux, OSX) computers you have the next chance:

    -MS-DOS (FAT) format:

If you want to start the drive on a PC or use it with older versions of Windows, you may also need to set the partition to the Master Boot Record (MBR) for full compatibility Windows scheme:

    • Click the drive, and then select the tab "partition".
    • In the "Layout of the score" dropdown, select "1 Partition".
    • Click on 'Options' and choose "Master Boot Record" as the type of partition, then click 'OK' and 'apply '.

Format discs very quickly, although the total time required will depend on the size of the drive.

The file system resulting is compatible with all versions of Mac OS X, Windows 95, 98, Windows XP, Vista, 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, is one of the most widely recognized and usable file system formats. What makes FAT ideal of the file system to use for external hard drives or USB flash drives that are designed for use in environments with multiple operating systems.

ATTENTION! The main drawback to the use of FAT32 is the file size limit, which limits the files on the drive to be 4 GB in size or less. If you need single files to be larger than 4 GB, use exFAT, even if you lose compatibility with older versions of OS X and Windows.

-Format in NTFS and use a program like Paragon NTFS on your Mac ($ 15/20).

  • ScanDisk USB Flash Drive problem after upgrade to El Capitan

After the upgrade to El Capitan, I can't access the vault secure on my USB Cruzer facet flash drive. I have Plug and display files as usual but when I try to open the safe, I get the message ' Scan Disk Secure Access V 2.0 requires San Disk USB Flash Drive. Please insert one. »

The Flash Player has worked fine before the upgrade to El Capitan and I can still use the files outside of the secure vault but, basically, I cannot now access the secure vault. I'd appreciate any thoughts on how this can be resolved. I only am not an expert so please, keep it pretty simple.

Sounds like a problem of compatibility with the Secure Access software and the OS X El Capitan of SanDisk.  Try download and install the latest version of Secure Access of SanDisk.

It seems also be other users having the same problem, you may get better assistance with this through SanDisk.  Someone else said that upgrading to the latest version of Secure Access has solved the problem.

  • Windows 7 USB Flash drive - if I click on Scan and difficulty after you insert the disk, it erases my files

Original title: Windows 7 USB/Flash drive problems

In Windows 7, if I plug in my USB drive, the message box appears titled ' do you want to scan and difficulty of removable disk (e :))?»  If I click on Scan and Fix, he deletes my files (or so I thought).  I hope that the files are still there and I have simply can't see because the drive is FAT32 and not NTFS (it says that most of the drive is NOT of free space, so I assume that the files are still there).  What should I do to see / access files?

Note: A reader, I never selected "Scan and repair"... so I can still see/access files.
On the other drive, however, the first time I plugged it on Windows 7, I clicked Scan and Fix and it erased all the files on this drive (I guess).  This of course got me very angry.

    Hi MichaelGramm,

It seems that the file format has been corrupted. You might consider formatting the drive in NTFS file system and check if this solves the problem. For Windows 7, the best choice for hard disks is NTFS.

Note: Make sure that you back up the data before formatting the disk.

See these articles for more information on formatting disks and flash player:

    Caution:

Formatting erases all existing files on a flash drive. If you format a flash disk that has files on it, the files will be deleted.

    Hope this information helps.

  • WiFi connectivity weird when I plug in the USB Flash drive?

I found this WiFi connection problem a few days ago, when I plugged a USB Flash drive in "USB port right side' of my MacBook Pro.

Every time when USB , WiFi won't work - the connection is lost and can not connect to any hotspot even turn the WiFi market.

I found more weird, ONLY this brand and model key USB could be the abnormal Mac WiFi.

This problem will not happen to another USB port even I put the Flash drive in the left side, USB port, weird isn't?

Conclusion, this flash drive cannot be used with USB port on the RIGHT side, another USB port works fine. If WiFi don't work.

All other USB devices I've owned are working very well on the USB ports on the right or left side.

Could Apple support or any helps me to understand why this happen?

PS. I had the Apple's Diagnostics and received a message "no problem found".

PS #2. Right - same USB port side and next to the HDMI port on MacBook Pro 13 "model 2015" (snack for someone who confuse average left or right)

    Please advise... thx

Test the USB drive on another PC or laptop.

Connect a different usb flash drive to the usb ports on your laptop to verify that the problem is related to this particular usb flash drive.

Unfortunately, some just usb flashdrives stop working. I had this happen a few times.

  • Some USB flash drives REFUSE to work in this 40TL963B

Hi all. I recently bought a new 40TL963B and so far I have found nothing wrong with her.

Except that... when I listen to it all the Satellite channels, I noticed thay were very different from my FreeSat box. Duplicate the layers, randomly arrested... etc. It made me want to not use the built-in satellite feature.

However, I found a program called ToshibaEdit which allowed me to manually change all the digital channels on the TV. Grand... I though. Until I met this problem-->

Inorder to change the ads, you must copy the TV channels on a USB flash drive, you can edit them on your PC. Now, it took me AN HOUR to do, because of two flash readers I used, none of them worked... I kept getting a "Write Fail" error. WTF?

The disks are formatted in FAT32, one is a 8 GB is 2 GB.

Finally, I tried an external 2.5 "USB 120 GB hard drive. Even if the disc is defective... This WORKER. I expect flash drives to work, to be honest, but all of them... the external USB hard drive worked.

In any case, I spent another hour sort channels, until I was ready to transfer the data back. And. Yes... the same problem. This time, I received an error "failed to read". Again, tried the external USB HDD... worked the first time.

Now, this HARD drive is faulty, so he'll be thrown... so I'm going to need a flash player to do it again if something happens.

And then... can ANYONE tell me why on Earth two appropriate, fully working almost brand new USB flash drives REFUSE to work in this TV, but a former, fairly well defective USB external drive MADE? In addition, the same flash drive that I tried to copy the data from digital channel with was also used for a backup of the Firmware... and it WORKED perfectly. It works also for use with the media player.

While this TV has a hatred of Flash drives all of a sudden?
Anyone can shed some light on this?

In addition, very quickly, TV seems to lose its TV settings every time that I bring the TV out of Eve. I'm going to the TV Dynamic and adjust all the settings, but he returned to AutoView and all settings back to 0. Is it a fault or is there something I need to do to 'save' the settings per channel?

Any help at all will be appreciated greatly.

    Hello

    > And then... can ANYONE tell me why on Earth two appropriate, fully working almost brand new USB flash drives REFUSE to work in this TV, but a former, fairly well defective USB external drive MADE?

AFAIK the 40TL963B TV supports a common HS USB 2.0 interface and memory flash can be formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 file system. So there is no specific requirement for USB flash memory

  • HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF: external hard drive not detected in the BIOS. Only USB Flash drives are detected.

    Hi all

I received recently 2 new HP desktop computers.

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 TWR

The goal is to test our real W7 x 64 image on these machines and to inject the missing drivers in the image.

MDT 2010 to create a deployment on a USB hard disk drive.

This disc of deployment is already used on 16 different models of HP in the company (Elitebook, zBook, EliteDesk) to install our image so I know it works.

Unfortunately, the two HP Elitedesk 800 G2, I can't start the boot disk but I cannot to USB for a USB key.

The USB drive is not detected and not proposed in the BIOS Menu of STARTUP.

Only the internal HD, external USB Flash Disk, DVD and network devices are detected.

Here's what I already checked or tried:

    • Latest Version of the BIOS installed (2.05)
    • UEFI Boot has been disabled. (not supported by our record of deployment)
    • USB ports are enabled (front and rear).
    • All types of USB devices are allowed in the BIOS
    • The start command has been changed to start with USB devices.
    • Legacy support is active and Secure Boot disabled
    • Delete the keys to secure boot
    • Reset secure by default startup keys
    • This morning, I created a new disk deployment on a USB Flash drive and it works!

So, it seems that only Flash USB drives are detected.

I know it is possible to return the flag removalble on a USB device to cheat the system and make it appear as a disk fixed, but I want a simple solution.

Does anyone know a fix or a workaround for this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

For those interested in the answer, here's the final results.

It turns out that the hard 500 GB external drive can be detected if it is fomatted in FAT32.

It's strange because my 16 GB USB Flash drive formatted in NTFS works very well.

In any case, I'll create a FAT32 Partition to the Boot MDT files and put my picture (because the file is too big for FAT32 partition) on the secondary partition (formatted as NTFS).

Thanks to the technical pre-sales team of HP who helped me with this!

  • Impossible to get the USB flash drive to work

I have a new Satellite L500 with Windows 7 and it will not recognize/install the USB flash drives. A msg comes up saying "software device driver has been properly installed. I tried several flash drives - they are OK & work on other machines - including an another Toshiba running Windows 7.

Other devices work in the USB ports, so the ports are OK.
Windows cannot resolve the problem, I have checked all USB drivers are updated in Device Manager & made a system of analysis of file without success.
The Bank recommended a reload & restore factory default - other options?

    Have you installed driver chipset?
Your laptop comes with Vista or Win7?

You have just upgraded to Vista or Win7 clean setting?

  • Satellite L675 - 11 H - cannot access and/or played on USB flash drive files

    Hi all

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L675 - 11H and tried to transfer files from a USB Pendrive on my hard drive from Toshiba. The files were already transferred from my old laptop (HP - XP) on my USB flash drive.

Unable to access the USB flash drive to any of the USB ports that I connect my new laptop flash drive. What could be the problem here? Thank you for your help or tips!

    Hey Rush,

Can you post more detailes about this behavior? What happens if you connect your laptop HARD drive, you don't see that Windows installs the drivers for the new USB device or do you have an error message? If you have connected the USB check of Windows disk management if she s recognized there (Control Panel > system and security > administrative tools).

Have you tried other USB devices such as USB mice? If they don t work too the problem might be connected to the USB ports. In this case, you must delete all the USB ports on the Device Manager and restart your laptop. Also the chipset driver update might help.

  • cRIO: build the path to write tdms file on a USB flash drive

I wrote the code in figure 1 below, for open & create a file tdms on my USB flash drive that is plugged into the USB cRIO.

The added path tdms is shown in figure 2 below.

But I get the error in figure 3 below. I wonder how I can solve this problem.

    Cashany,

Make sure that the USB is formatted in FAT32 as the cRIO cannot mount NTSF or other file systems.

In addition, and this is potentially very important:

There is a known memory leak problem that is easy to avoid the code with the help of PDM on the cRIO (without code changes!).

This problem only occurs on vxWORKS targets (e.g., cRIO-9014), not on the PharLap targets (as I know).

The problem occurs when you close a PDM file reference, the vxWORKS OS can't properly unload the PDM library. Next time you open a PDM, the library reference is loaded again, if for a very long time you will run out of memory.

    The solution is very simple:

on your cRIO, locate the file or - rt.ini, then scroll down to the section [LVRT] of the ini file and locate the key called "StartupDlls".

Make sure 'tdms.out' is included. For example, according to your cRIO, it may look like this:

    StartupDlls = nisysrpc.out; NiRioRpc.out; NiViSrvr.out;

In this case, you would change the line to look like this:

    StartupDlls = nisysrpc.out; NiRioRpc.out; NiViSrvr.out; TDMS.out;

This will prevent the LabVIEW runtime on the cRIO trying to unload the PDM library, forcing to be in memory of start up to eternity. This avoids the memory leak that you would otherwise experience.

    Good luck!
