USB port for backup
A USB Flash drive that was used to back up my PC can be erased and reused to save my new PC?
Sure. Just plug it in and clear the contents. If you don't know that you don't want anything in this regard, it would be even better, right click on the drive letter and format the drive.

USB ports for a computer to flag a6750t does not
None of the USB ports on my computer a6750t Pavilion are recognized by the Windows Vista operating system. Here are things I tried to correct the problem.
- Updated the driver. This is the message I get when you try to update the drivers.
- Uninstall devices
- Restore the system in time
- Downloaded and installed the "Chipset Intel Original pilot" from the HP site.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what to do to recover the USB drives?
The only items that should be uninstalled were the ones called 'USB hub root'. This is the driver that you need to install.
If this does not resolve your problem, I suggest making a backup of your personal data and do a system restore. Here's aguide to help the recovery.

Where you initially bought the whole? You could try to contact the staff of store if nearby. They may have additional elements of broken games. Or, you can try to contact Microsoft for a replacement.
Or call: 1-800-Microsoft (642-7676)

Color HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 M551dn - USB port for optional devices
I just got confirmation from HP, you can remove that part of the label (or cut out carefully enough label). There are two screw holes for the screws that you will probably want to ensure docking are discovered (to help stable mounting).
They say that they have covered this port in order to avoid confusion for the customer with customers who do not use this port.

What the USB port allows for?
I noticed a USB port on my AppleTV... .but port is mentioned nowhere in the User Guide. It would be wonderful if it could be used, for example, to connect a USB or even an external hard drive with images, which could be displayed on the connected TV. What this really usable USB port for? Anyone know?
Thank you
Tahunga
You can connect it to a computer to recharge the system software. In the specs, it says "maintenance" or something like. It does not support a file system. Too bad.

Faulty USB Ports &; Solutions possible
Hi all, my first post. So is everyone.
I have a 15 "mid 2012 Macbook Pro which is now defective USB ports, I took it to a repair
a specialist who said it would cost a lot of trouble and would be a difficult task.
I have to push a device or a cable down hard enough so he could read once I insert it
in the port and keep up the pressure if I want to read or write.
Now, I thought that a thunderbolt port was just for the video, but I found the following: (crush on usb hubs)
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1075056-reg/kanex_ktu10_thunderbolt_to_usb _3_0_esata.html
Will this work on my mac? Or are there other ways for me to get the capability of USB back to? I need at least a USB port for my drawing tablet. Thus, a port would be nice.
Any help will be appreciated.

The two cards you access both should work. The eSata connection is probably not a good option for you.
If you can not the USB ports repaired (which usually requires the replacement of the logic board) consider something suc as this:
It is not cheap, but cheaper than a logic board.

Spectrum of HP 13-v013tu: USB port not working not not the spectrum 13
Hello. I bought the HP 13-v013tu a few months ago spectrum and in general the laptop works very well. However, I noticed that 3 C type USB ports in the back, one of them do not work. The USB port for the electrical connection to the right is fine, but the two in the Middle, one of them work. Who does not work does not recognize or even to send power what it is connected (for example, the mobile phone, the external hard drive, load wireless mouse).
I checked the Device Manager and see nothing wrong in the USB options. Even the option of power management to allow the computer to turn off the device has been disabled.
Can anyone help? Is this a hardware problem?
Thank you.
USB - C for USB 3 adapter supplied with the laptop you are using? If it works in 2 of the three ports, then the logical conclusion is that the third part is bad. You can actually power the laptop of one of the Thunderbolt-C/USB ports (I have one of these laptops) in order to try in the port which is giving you issues and if he does not have the power, then you have a dead port which will require the replacement of the motherboard.

TinkPad Slate Tablet may be recharged by full size USB Port?
My wife has a 1 year old ThinkPad tablet, and she had problems using the Mini USB port for charging. The port is damaged. I managed to fix it by folding the edges of the usb port of fitness, but I don't think that this repair will last.
I was wondering if it is possible to charge the Tablet by the USB port of size instead, because it is much easier to use the USB port full size instead of the mini USB port, mini USB port is a bad design of am.
Nothing will be damaged if I try?
No, you can't, but you can buy a dock. Works well. http://www.Amazon.com/Lenovo-0A33953-ThinkPad-Tablet-dock/DP/B005HTZNBU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&IE=...

This seemed to happed after that March 11, 2014 Windows update or after plugging in headphones NXG technology to charge the battery. NXG assures me that they are not the problem and their agenda only charges the battery of the power from the USB port. Ports due light ACC Player or headphones indicating the power is in them. Can LabVIEW control a device series (RS232) via a USB port on a Mac?
Using LabVIEW 6 and operation of G4 Mac OS 9, it was once possible to use a USB port for control and acquisition of data of a pH meter in our laboratory. Only, we used "Serial Port Init.vi" and wired to port #0, which referred to the USB port. We connected the connector DB9 to the pH meter to the Mac's USB port via a USB-to-DB9 adapter. LabVIEW 6 could then send commands to the pH meter and acquire pH values of him using the serial port, reading and writing icons. I try to do the same thing now using LabVIEW 8.6 on a Mac Pro OS 10.5.6 and leads nowhere. The simplicity of LabVIEW 6 is long gone, and it seems to be necessary to use VISA icons. When I write the vi using the icons series VISA, three potential serial ports appear to be available. However, the vi gives an error message, except when I choose a specific of these, ASRL2::INSTR, under the name of the resource, in which case the vi runs, but there is no communication with the pH meter. I can't understand what physical connector on the chassis Mac corresponds to ASRL2::INSTR, but it is does not seem to be the USB key. I tried to write the vi using the icons of VISA USB of LabVIEW, but which requires knowledge of USB communication protocols which is beyond the expertise of this chemist. So, I'm almost at a loss what to try next. I could buy a serial RS232 card to install in a PCI Express slot in the Mac, hoping that he will be recognized and can be resolved by using the icons series VISA. However, as it was once trivial to perform this task of communication via the Mac's USB port, it seems that it should not be necessary to buy another card. LabVIEW continues to become more and more complicated, and if she doesn't get any more improved, it may not work at all. I've been programming LabVIEW on Mac for almost ten years and she became gradually more frustrating. In any case, is - anyone out there fought USB / communication series battle on a new Mac and won? If now it is impossible, no matter which allowed to pass through a RS232 serial installed in a Mac Pro card? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
Ken1,
I don't have a chance to see the USB-serial last night. I'll make a note to try it again tonight.
Dennis is right. You need to focus on the determination of what works or not in communications. Look at the system information (Apple menu > about this Mac > more info...). Then select the USB item in the list of the contents of the left column. See if USB devices to look like they could be serial port emulators. I don't remember exactly what they are called. If the device doesn't appear like USB Raw, it probably means that no driver has been installed. You can unplug the unit and see what are the changes. This will tell you if the operating system sees the device.

Pavilion 6710f: upgrade to 3.0 in desktop pavilion 6710f usb ports?
I have a hp pavilion p6710f desktop that has 4 usb 2.0 ports on the back, & 2 front. is it possible for me to install usb 3.0 ports in whole or in part? or just add them (which would be better)? Thank you!
You can check your power cables. PIN 4 (molex), looked like this:
What I see on the page product, you will need it IF you use the USB port for equipment that consumes energy high enough. That is to say; external hard drive, smartphones.
If you are just using the port for a mouse or keyboard, you will not need this.
