  • USB superDrive does not hub

When I have my USB drive plugged into a USB hub, it will not work. It does not eject or accept disks.

It's annoying because I have a MacBook Air that has only 2 USB ports. I have several devices that I use.

Is there anything I can do to run the Hub of the SuperDrive? He even appears in the system report, I ran.

But it does not communicate with my Mac.

  • My Macbook Pro does not recognize the Apple USB superdrive

My Macbook pro doesn't recognize the superdrive.

I don't know exactly what is the cause, but everything was fine before certain events.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

    Upgrading to Parallels desktop 11

    Upgrade to Windows 10

As I said before these changes everything was fine. Another problem I face is a lot of cuts of my wifi connection and I have to disconnect and reconnect the wifi.

If anyone has any idea I would be grateful to have the explanation

    Thank you very much

The Superdrive Apple USB attracts more than the maximum power allowed. It can be awkward on some MacBook Pro. But the question probably for your configuration is Windows has reserved the player himself, and the side Mac cannot use until Windows releases, or you do a restart.

  • Can't burn my CD using player USB superDrive

Hai, I just buy my USB Apple SuperDrive - MD564ZM/A and I discovered that I can't burn my CD at all.

He did not show the black n yellow logo color to my Mac Book Pro, what should I do?

I have been using Youtube, Google, but I can't find a solution.

    Hi Brenda,

Thank you for your participation in the communities of Support from Apple.

I see you have a new SuperDrive USB, but you can't burn CDs at all. What applications are you using to burn your discs?

If you burn the data files on a CD, you can use the method in OS X El Capitan: If you have problems burning discs:

If your Mac has a built-in optical drive, or if you connect an external DVD drive (for example, a SuperDrive Apple USB drive), you can burn files on CD and DVD to share your files with friends, move files between computers or create backup files. The disc burn you on your Mac is usable also on Windows and other types of computers.

    1. Insert a blank disc into the optical drive.

If you see a dialog box, click on the context menu, then choose open Finder. Select "Perform this action by default" If you want to open the Finder, whenever you insert a blank disc.

The disc appears on your desktop.

    2. Double-click the disc to open its window, and then drag the files and folders you want to burn on the window.

Alias , the files are placed in the window of the disk. The original files are not moved or deleted.

Note: If you want to burn the same files on multiple disks, using a burn folder.

    3. Organize and rename the files.

When the disc is burned, the items on the disc have the same names and places they have in the disc window. After the disc is burned, you can not change the items.

    4. Choose file > burn [disc], then follow the instructions.

The files that the aliases point to are burned on the disc. In addition, if the records that you add to the disc contains aliases, files those aliases point are also engraved on the disc.

You can also find some suggestions in OS X El Capitan: If you have problems burning discs.

    Sincerely.

You may be able to use one of the cards USB - C port supported that has a standard USB port and

also a power at the port, so you can use the MacBook power adapter at the same time. Note the details

What port provides data on the cards among other details here:

    • Using the USB - C port and adapters on your MacBook (retina, 12 inch, early 2015) - Apple Support

The SuperDrive Apple USB should work fine with the 12-inch retina MacBook 2015 model; If it isn't

then consider a visit an Apple store, and if necessary, make an appointment in advance for Genius.

  • Reader superdrive USB does not recognize discs

I'm trying to save a file to a CD using my attached to a Macbook Air USB superdrive and when I click Backup I continue to get messages that the drive is empty and enter a valid disk.   I have tried various CD and DVD and can not make a backup.

  • SuperDrive USB not recognized by rMBP

I have a MacBook Pro 13 "retina that I bought in October 2015. I had the Apple USB SuperDrive for Christmas.

Right out of the box, I can not get the superdrive to work! I tried both USB ports, reboot while it was plugged, check in the finder and ATA and my computer still does not recognize it.

I know that it cannot be the USB port because I plugged an old external hard drive from Toshiba and everything worked fine.

I checked my settings and I so that the CD/DVD are displayed on the desktop.

I use El Capitan (10.11.12), and I heard it is a problem.) Which is ridiculous.

Basically, what happens is that I plug the superdrive, put in a disk, it takes and purrs and click a little and is as he worked, and then just spits out the right of return of.

I checked the disk and nothing is broken. I thought that maybe a disc must be in the drive before it appears on the computer, but it is not even recognize it long enough to do it.

I am completely new to the Mac, so I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. Whether a defective superdrive drive or I do something wrong, I have no idea. Help, please!

Your MBP so the Superdrive are under warranty.  Bring them both to an Apple store genius bar and have the problem solved.  The Superdrive is maybe defective.

    Ciao.

  • Superdrive Apple USB drive problem

Situation: The internal superdrive on my MacBook 2009 stop working while I bought a new USB Superdrive.  And only after I plugged it in, has indicated that it is incompatible with my computer.  After reviewing the advice here, I said that most of the optical USB drives on the market are compatible with my computer, so it's something to look at.  However, this year I plan to get a new MacBook, date at which I will need an optical drive that works with newer computers.

Question: Will be one of the current after the market of optical drives work with the new MacBook? Or should I just keep the Apple Superdrive that I currently have to use?

    Thank you in advance.

No first hand experience, but I think that number of external optical drives from third party works pretty much any computer that has USB (and much less expensive than the Superdrive).  The only glitch, I know is that application Apple DVD Player can bother but there is a harmless hack that gets around that, or you can use an alternative player such as VLC (I never use DVD player).

You can browse the web site OWC/mac - ventes.com.  If you know exactly what you want and need no support there are many places to watch it's maybe a dollar or two cheaper but every time that I'm not sure I call them and ask and am happy to spend the little extra to support the customer.
