Use of blackBerry Smartphones left button practice to immediately go to the homepage of the storm

Hello

I found the options to change the left convenience button to open some applications. I'm doing the practical left button go directly to the homepage of the storm that has two or three rows of applications. I always catch myself stuck in the main menu page that contains all the icons for applications and I want to be able to go quickly to the front page. Is it possible to map the practical opening to this page left button. I see a lot of options to map the convenience key but not the one I want.

Thank you, John

Choose the option titled "Application list".  Who should be the one you're looking for!

(And just in case you don't know where to change the settings (although it seems you know), go to Options > keyboard/screen, and then scroll to the bottom to the left side convenience key and select list of applications it.)

Two other ways to access the home screen application list is to press the button end call (red) to return to the home screen showing the wallpaper, then press once the screen or press the BB menu key.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones all versions of Desktop Manager work with the storm

I'm hoping to pick up a storm when the actions are available, but the work computer that I need to use the redirector and Desktop manager to work cannot access the internet because of security restrictions, so I can't use the latest version of DM to work because he has internet acess to check. The storm will work with earlier versions (I'm under 4.3 on it now with my 8830). Unfortunately, this simple question will be the brand or the break for me to be able to move the storm... someone knows?

Well, I have my Storm and older versions of DM do not work. You will need the most recent version.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Memory Cleaner cause error when you save the storm?

So, I recently started using memory cleaner on my bb storm.  I think that it is causing my bb storm not being able to save to the Desktop Manager.  This happened to someone else, or is there another program I should use to clean the memory?

    ofcpa wrote:

    Hello!

If you believe you are getting the error with the cleaner memory active - have - run you controlled tests to validate it? And the error has disappeared if you run your inactive test with Memory Cleaner?

Memory Cleaner is belived by the majority is not not necessary. It is a resource and performance drag on the device of benefits that meet only people safety requirements very high. This is a Ko that deals with what he does.

The most widespread on Memory Cleaner is that it performs defragmentation of memory of the App and clears the memory leaks and others, the BB back to a good working state. This is incorrect. The best way to achieve this is restarting batt-pop.

    Hope that helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Outlook 2003 calendar will not sync with the storm

A couple of weeks my Outlook calendar (2003) has just stopped syncing with my Blackberry Storm. I have Vista. I was on the phone with Telus and they tried to help me, but nothing has worked.  I downloaded the new software for my Blackberry; I rebooted the Desktop Manager (version 5); I recharged Outlook. I tried to synchronize just a few days.   I loaded the Desktop Manager on another computer and that no longer works.  Tasks and Contacts will be synchronized, but not the calendar.  It turns on, said "wait a minute", and then stops without doing anything.  No error message.  After reading the other rivers, I wonder if the AEFI is corrupt (but have no idea what it is or where it is).  I also noticed that I have more "default device" as one of the options 'Send' - just Facebook and my email address (but have no idea how to get this option).  I worked on it for hours without success.  Any help would be appreciated.

I finally called the Blackberry technical support service and they solved my problem.  I had remove databases (because there was probably a corrupted entry) and remove the books of CICAL service on the device.  Thanks for the comments.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones lock button does not work after update

Since the last update on my Blackberry Bold 9780 the 'lock' button no longer works.  How to solve this?

You can try without decommissioning of your BlackBerry smartphone to the previous version to test it for me?

Plug your smart phone BlackBerry on your PC and then launch the BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Before you do anything that this, backup your device.  Then click on the device and then update.  Choose see other Versions in the pop up screen then choose 6.0.0.461 from the list.

If you can try this when you have the opportunity, so I would like to know if the lock button works, it will be useful in the diagnosis, be it a bug of software or a physical problem with the device.  You can let me know the results.

  • Mode standby of the blackBerry Smartphones Mute button worked, but no more

Hello!  I was wondering if someone would have a suggestion.  For the first two or three days I got my new curve, the mute button has worked well and put the phone in sleep mode.  I could have hit a set or changed something, but it no longer works.  The mute button himself works for the phone when I talk.  It is not just putting the phone into standby mode.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

Thanks to a suggestion from another user solid, it turns out that make a hard/soft reset (remove the battery for 30 seconds) solved the problem.

Sorry for my writing skills, because English is not my first language

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You can also use these tricks - if suggest a website, please rather replaced by 6a or 6b above:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

you don't need Roxio just to move the images, just use your Blackberry as a USD external memory card reader.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not verify my blacberry id - enter the username associated with this phone - ARGH!

I just got my blackberry a few days ago and it makes me nuts trying to get this set up. I'm pretty tech savy, but not when it comes to this phone.

I created an account via blackberry, but then I could not for the life of me remember the password I put on it. So, which became a nightmare and I ended up deleting this account and set up a new through the computer.

Now, every time I try and connect to this, as the app world to try to put things in place and not - I get the error message "enter the username associated with this smartphone.

So I enter the new name of user and password I put in place and it works so of course I tried to get all blackberry programs set up on my computer and connect the phone to my computer - but my house is a deadband for cells - so I can't do set up because I can not access my "data plan" in my house.

I recorded my phone, I have taken the battery all that fun stuff - but it's still not working! That makes me BONKERS - I can not set up email, bbm anything because I can't access my account - ARGH! I really hope that someone can help you.

No doubt because I posted this - my friend that I couldn't reach finally called me and told me to do a security wipe and then start again. It WORKED! So if anyone has this problem, just try to do a wipe
