Use of external ports on the fabric of the UCS of interconnections

Hello everyone

We have a new UCS with 2 fabric interconnects and I want to uplink the ISCSI NICS to an external server not cisco.   What I read, it looks like using a port of the device is the way to go.  However I have noticed on the port configuration of the server, he does not see the VLAN already defined.  The server communicates only with a SAN upstream on our main switch;  If you define a VLAN separately on external does this mean if my server had to communicate with a blade of Cisco low flow to send traffic to the base and then back down even though he was on the same VLAN?  Just try to understand it.  Would it not be better to configure the mode switch?   I know that you will lose some functionality with mode switch.

Thank you

Jason,

I don't ' know if you've already read, but here's the doc of a connectivity device port.

Thank you

  • You can use an external microphone for the animation of the character of adobe.

I searched the internet and I can't find a way to use an external facilitator of adobe mic, so background noise is not as bad and my voice will be heard better, I used the mic in other software and it works as it should, so my question is can you use an external microphone for computers in the adobe character animation If so, how can you do?

Yes, I use a USB microphone all the time. It should detect it automatically, but if not, you can go to the host character > preferences and select as input device.

  • Using an external display and the adapter on a laptop with Vista.

I have a Dell Latitude D830 with Mobile Intel 965 video drivers. I also have a Dell D Dock with a Nvidia Geforce 6200 graphics card in the PCI slot.

I understand why I can't use both of these cards together at the same time on a vista machine. I wish I could use only the adapter Nvidia docked and only the adapter PC mobile native while undocked, is it possible to do?

I don't know if this can be done automatically, but I think it's possible with a minimum number of keystrokes (and properly configure the video settings for each monitor and video card).  Here's how:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Set-up-multiple-monitors.  Check out the other articles referenced in this one to lead you through a bunch of articles on the dual display and the configuration, installation, troubleshoot and work with them.  I don't understand all the other links here - just follow those of the first and they will lead you to all the others.

    I hope this helps.

  • Helps the clarification on the ports of the UCS C220

Hi guys New computer unified (and the servers / virtualization in general to be honest!) Sorry for stupid questions, I guess. I tried to read as much as I can but still a little fuzzy on a few things.

At the back of the UCS C220 I have, there is a M, 1 LAN, LAN 2 port, and then a 4 ports ethernet card. What I guessed was:

    M's management for MMIC port

LAN 1 and 2 were for ESXi (grouping of NETWORK cards?)

So do not know what is the purpose of the ethernet card 4 ports as well?

In addition, the MMIC, you have the option for dedicated/shared LOM etc and I don't really understand the differences. I guessed who dedicates meant that MMIC used the port of M and LOM shared meant she could use other LAN ports? Furthermore, making MMIC and ESXi had to be on separate subnets?

Sorry for stupid questions, but once I have clearly in my head I think it will be easy for me,

    Thank you

    Hello

If I have CIMC running in "Shared LOM" then it means I can have 1 cable connected from one of the LOM ports and can access both the CIMC and ESXi on a single cable without the need for the management cable to be connected?

Yes, the only cable connected to the LOM port will give access to interface MMIC and ESXi.

In this case the CIMC and ESXi can also be on the same subnet without problems? (Assuming switch with single vlan)

They can be in the same subnet and won't cause problems

  • serial port of the UCS c220

Someone tried to put the IP address on the serial port MMIC? Thought it would be nice not to have to hang out on the screen and the keyboard, but I can't seem to get the appropriate PIN or and baud rates.

Sorry Gene, don't know why it gives is right for you.  I shot again today to check, I wasn't crazy, and it is humming along fine on my installation.  Yet once, right rolling cable on the serial port RJ45 in the back (note: not the CIMC/mgmt port, but the port directly adjacent to the VGA port).  I use TeraTerm with parameters:

Here is the result of my terminal, the color is ugly, but does the job:

  • How to use Layer 2 Ports on the Cisco 1841 router switch

    Hello

I use the Cisco 1841 router with a single port layer 3 Fe0 and 8 Ports switched.

I gave the IP on the Fe0 port which is connected to another router.

Now I don't know how to use Layer 2 of the router switch ports.

I tried to make one of the port as a Port of access by switchport mode access and connected my laptop and the same subnet given IP, but I can't ping my Fe0 IP port and vice versa, as I am also unable to ping my laptop router.

Can someone explain to me how to use these ports on layer 2?

Can anyone provide a matrix or a personal experience.

I know that this SSD model works very well with the server blades (B200), but what about RACK servers?

    Hello

That the PID is here ... http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-com  So yes, it is supported.

Just go to the link above and click on "SELECT the (HDD) HARD DRIVES or DISKS SOLID STATE (SSD)" on page 2 and will take you to Table 10 on page 29.

I hope that answers your question.

  • How to use two external monitors with my laptop?

I have a new Pavilion dm4-301 d cl Entertainment PC.   My OS is Windows 7.   I'm used to using two external monitors with a docking station.   This new laptop lacks a docking station.  What should I do use two external monitors?

Certainly not without a dock, but even with laptop HP well enough docks limit you to one of the ports on the external monitor, even if there are two on the dock. We used a device called an Atlona AT-HDPIX2 which is a USB to hdmi adapter. It provides a feature of third monitor for a laptop... use the native external port of the screen and the computer screen internal, then this device gives a third control that is fully configurable to display Windows 7 interface... clone, extend, etc.. It allows a full HD resolution and is pretty responsive for games even light.  HP does not have any true docking station for your laptop.

  • Running 3 monitors, 2 card Radeon 5450 and 1 port of the motherboard

I have a p7-1154 HP which has two DVI ports on the motherboard, but I needed to run a third monitor so I installed a HP 5450 PCI Radeon card that has a DVI, HDMI and VGA port, but I can use only 2 of them at the time - or DVI, VGA or HDMI, and VGA. Motherboard ports don't work at all now, so I'm in the same place that I was before I even bought the video card. I was under the impression that I would be able to use existing DVI ports on the motherboard as well as DVI/HDMI and VGA video card port together... How can I get there?

    Thank you very mucho.

    Daniel

My friend, welcome to the forum.

Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.  If you look at the section titled "Integrated graphics", you will notice that it says the following: * integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.  Therefore, there is no way to use a third-party monitor.

  • Unable to connect 2 external monitors via the Port Replicator using Portege Z30 - 16U

    Hi all

I need hell, I just moved from another laptop for Portege Z30 - 16U, I spent hours trying to connect my 2 external monitors to my Replicator Port Hi-Speed III 120W, but my laptop will see a monitor.

I used 2 external monitors with my laptop for years because I do a lot or reading and I don't want to use the one and the laptop screen.

I tried the mixture of a VGA and a HDMI and VGA cables, but nothing works.

Can anyone tell me how I can connect and discover 2 external monitors with this laptop and port replicator, I can't believe that this is not possible, it makes no sense that Toshiba would then technilogically behind other laptop manufacturers.

    Thank you

    Liga

    Hello

I'm not familiar with the Z30 Portreplicator, but the general behavior of the replicators of the double-displayconnector, is that 1 can be used.
    Not 2 simultaneously.

I could be wrong, and you should easily be able to check it out - use only 1 at a time.
    First, then the other.
If the two works when used alone, then my suspicion is right.

    I hope this helps!

  • Terca M4: How to activate the external ports, DVI and analog?

Please can someone please tell how to activate the two external ports. I would use two DVI and analog to the office. Currently if you activate a second screen machine sets up the flat screen and the other the DVI external display. Is this in any way about this?

    See you soon

    Hi Matthew

As far as I know you can connect an external monitor or a TFT. For this you can use the VGA (15-pin) port or DVI - D video, supported by PortReplicator III (PA3314E).

Sorry, but I don't understand why you need the two holes at the same time. How many external screens that you want to use? Sorry if I'm missing something but perhaps you can explain your wishes more precisely.

    Good bye

  • Communicate with external devices via the USB port on the Playbook

    Hi all

I've been looking for more information on how to connect to external devices programmatically using the port USB of the Playbook. It seems that the QNX Neutrino system level options do not work, I tried to use system() with some usb since utilities commands (e/s-usb, usb,...) without success. I'm trying to build an application that uses the USB port of the Playbook to connect to a network industry such as devicenet or profi-bus as an example. Anyone know if this is possible? If this is related to another post here, admin please move.

Change Note: Please answer and the result is pretty much that I had found. I have no contact I can name for RIM, off the top of my head. I think for now, I'll concentrate my efforts for the development of the Playbook.

This is my speculation, but given the current philosophy of the PlayBook and BB 10 OS, perhaps my speculation is not too bad. Anyway, it is not only a problem of BB, other editors (Apple, Samsung, LG etc) also do not allow this out of the box.

A few days ago, I played with ultra cheap Chinese junk-Tablet (with resistive screen, buuuu), android 2.3.3 and this unit has a usb port with support for any device usb (mouse, keyboard, 3 g modem) + adapter Ethernet usb custom with 2port usb hub. Man, it was crazy. Maybe these will find its way in BB 10 devices a day.

Can I use the Ethernet connections on airport express at the exit of music over wifi to a set of speakers?

    Sorry, but no.

I don't want to use the PIN audio output on the Airport express, as it is analog

Perhaps you weren't aware that audio port on the AirPort Express audio book Terminal analog or digital, according to the type of connector used. See this link on the AirPort Express specifications to confirm... http://www.Apple.com/Airport-Express/specs/

In other words, for the Express deliver audio analog, connect a standard stereo mini plug with connectors appropriate to the other end.  To ensure that the Express deliver audio digital, plug a mini Toslink cable to the audio port on Terminal AirPort Express.  An example is in this link... • How to force the screen sharing to use Ethernet 2 port?

    Hello

I have 3 MacPros connected in my studio. MP1 is the master and I use screen apart to see MP2 and MP3. Now, I bought a very quick switch to connect these 3 between them via the Ethernet Port 2 MP1 and at the same time have the MP1 connected to the internet and printers, servers and so on with 1 Port Ethernet. But this is not possible, because the screen sharing will prefer to use the port where the internet/router is connected.

When ONLY Ethernet Port 2 is active, screen sharing using this port and it works perfectly, but when turn on again once, 1 Port Ethernet 2 remote Mac loses connection.

Is there a way to force the screen sharing to use Port Ethernet 2?

    It would be useful:
