Use of Tecra M11 on Express Port Replicator II

Hello all, I wonder if the Group of experts can help with a small problem Im having with my Ministry of the Interior

My kit is a Toshiba Tecra M11 with Win 7 Enterprise, that I use with a port replicator Port Express and I just upgraded to a Lifebook Seimens, also with a cradle of home. The way I like to work is to use the laptop to connect Central company on the internet by VPN network and then use my PC at home to connect to the laptop via DRC - if I can use the screen Monitor wide and large keyboard (my job is very large Excel spreadsheets). It worked well with the Siemens and especially work with Toshiba, but for a small problem.

After I have logged on to the network and connected to the laptop, I want to put the lid down, then put the laptop and its cradle of home from the road on a shelf. This has worked with Siemens, but whenever I have try with the Toshiba it puts the machine to sleep as soon as the cover closes and the DRC on the main PC session is suspended. The Toshiba is mounted on its cradle of home throughout this process. Computer laptop & cradle to host both the main pc are all connected by a wired connection to the same router netgear

How to stop what is happening, that is how to use the device on its base of home with the lid down?

In the Windows power plan settings, you can choose the action to COVER closed. The default setting will stay and that is what you have described. So I recommend disabling this option for each Windows power profile.

Otherwise, follow the instructions posted by Akuma. If you make an update of the BIOS, unplug all devices and close all running programs before doing this.

I have a Toshiba Tecra A9 laptop and a Toshiba express port replicator, the Replicator has two outputs DVI & VGA, but I just can't seam to allow them both to use my funds rather than 1 desktop computer screens and the screen of the laptop.

    Is this possible?

    See you soon

    Ash.

As far as I know that something like this is not possible. The video signal may not be spited and sent to two video output ports. If you want to use two external monitors, you need an additional video source as Toshiba Dynadock or another solution.

  • Tecra M10 and Express Port Replicator, no DVI to Toshiba 20 "LCD output

    Hello

As the bed of the subject line, I will put up a new Tecra M10 with the Express Port Replicator and monitor LCD Toshiba Tekbright 20 ".

The system works on Windows XP, and the ordinary VGA connection on the port replicator works fine when connected to the external LCD.

However, there seems to be no way to get the DVI interface on port replicator, working on the LCD.

I tried to run this utility, and it does not detect the DVI monitor at all.

I have updated graphics drivers Intel for XP, form the Web from Toshiba site and also have the latest version of the BIOS.

    Hello paul

Your Tecra M10 has DVI port?
Replicator port is not some sort of converter and it will be just a loop through the signal directly from the laptop.
If the computer laptop doesn t supports DVI output you cannot expect to get signal from the port replicator.

  • Tecra M9 and Express Port Replicator - display flicker

    Hi guys,.

I'm having some problems with my new Tecra M9! After that laboriously installed all the drivers and ending up with a nice clean install, I am now subject to constant headaches!

I run a Setup dual monitor with my main monitor being a LG 19 "and the second screen being my Tosh laptop screen. When I move anything or anything open my main screen flickers like mad! I swapped the primary monitor with another screen (make and model), and it still happens! If I connect the main monitor in the laptop VGA port and run the same setting of the screen, its fine, but the second I put it through the docker it still sparkles! I also checked running a single screen (an external monitor) it still happens!

I've updated all my drivers to the latest version without any doubt the GFX and BIOS.

I can't be the only person having this problem, I have at least 3 of Tecra M9 who have the same problem and I can't buy laptops additional I need till remedy! Help!

    Hello Andi

Before starting any discussion can you please tell us a little more info on pre-installed OS? You wrote about installing the drivers. Why?

As I know your laptop comes with the own operating system preinstalled. Why you do this again? And what operating system you are using?

    Hey people,

1 USB mouse and USB keyboard are not ready to use so that until that Windows7 is fully loaded (BIOS Mode)

    2. There are USB devices such as USB-HDD, TV Tuner, telephone mobile-station host connected to the port replicator. Laptop remains in the Boot Logo screen and does not start until I have disconnect all devices. So I have to disconnect it, restart it and anchor it again. quite annoying.

    3. using the 64 bit version of WIndows 7 and playback sound stops regularly for 2-3 seconds when I use the speaker plug from the docking station. Using the plug in the laptop itself - no problem.

I am absolutely fed up with it. Anyone have any idea?

    Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

With regard to the problem of USB:
You have enabled USB legacy support in the BIOS? As far as I know, there is always such an option in the BIOS and it must be allowed, if you want to use USB devices before Windows starts.

And using his most recent drivers for your laptop? You can check it on the Web from Toshiba site if a newer version is available:

    Hello

I think you want to connect a VGA monitor and the other to DVI port.
    Is this good?

    Well, I found this doc:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7B0201000CR01.htm

Depends on used Tecra A9, if you can get a picture on the DVI port on the Express Port Replicator (PA3508E-1PRP) or not.
The DVI port on the on the Port Replicator Port Express is supported only on computers with graphics card ATI or nVidia.
If you have a DVI INTEL graphics card port on the on the Express Port Replicator only is NOT supported.

  • Tecra M11-LaTeX runs slow on external monitor using Express Port Replicator

    Hi all

I am having trouble with my Tecra M11 with an external monitor, through an Express Port Replicator II.

It is very accurate, but I am running texlive 2010 on my laptop to write a thesis. Whenever I use my laptop screen feature is very good, and it works very fast, no lag when I compile my document. As soon as docking it into my docking station at work to use it on a big screen, whenever I use the same program, it slows down a lot, finally causing the crash program. Its frustrating to lose a lot of your thesis like this! When I connect the external monitor directly to the laptop, it works fine again.

Something goes wrong in the docking station. Anyone know how I can fix this? Im a little confused and ideas. Maybe I pilot or something im unaware of. My docking station is maybe defective?

    Thank you

    Jake

Port replicator port on which do you use? VGA or DVI?

It won't be easy to provide the answer to your question. It is not possible to test all the software available with docking station and research solutions.
    I would say: bad luck.

  • By using the Tecra M11 - 11J with an Express Port Replicator II

Currently, I have the Tecra on a cooling rack, but I think to buy an Express Port Replicator II.

The question is: the duplicator will dissipate heat from the laptop. It would be useful in this regard?

I would be happy to comment.

    What about John

    Hi John

I agree with Akuma. Port replicator doesn t have the vents inside and you can't wait until the laptop temperature will be reduced because of the port replicator.
The reasons why the port replicator is are different and, in general, has nothing to do with the computer laptop cooling.

  • Tecra M11 - 11L: no sound through Express Port Replicator II

    Hello

I hope someone can help me.

I have a Tecra M11 11 L with Windows 7 32-bit and an Express Port Replicator II docking station.

When I plug my external speakers into the 3.5 mm plug on the laptop side, they work very well and the internal Laptop speakers are correctly muted.
When I have the laptop dock and connect the external speakers to the Jack on the dock, I hear no external speaker but I get the sound from the internal speakers (i.e. they are is more silent).

I did some research and some Dell users report the same problem with their docking stations after the upgrade to Windows 7, which suggests that this could be a driver problem Windows 7, rather than a faulty docking station.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I found just the package of Windows Vista for Toshiba Express Port Replicator II drivers
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/drvpack-20071108133820.zip

There is no software driver Win 7 for Toshiba Express Port Replicator II.
But this does not mean that this could be a software problem
It is also possible that audio jack does not work as it should
It would be desirable to test the Express Port Replicator II under Vista or Win XP

  • Tecra A10 - 1GV and Docking Stations: Dynadock vs Express Port Replicator II

    Hello Forum;

Official Toshiba site proposes to use the Docking Station Express Port Replicator II for laptop A10 1GV.

I need for my construction work 2 monitors.

My question: can I use with the Express Port Replicator II two additional monitors at the same time (there are 2 connectors (DVI and analog VGA/RGB). Is it possible to create two different images in this way?
Some have said, that after a connection with the DVI - D VGA connector is turned off.

    Someone at - he experiences?

On the other hand Toshiba offeres the Docking-station "Port replicator USB Dynadock U" -.
This docking station is only connected via USB with the laptop. According to the data sheet - it provides an analog and a digital monitor with different views at the same time, up to 1920 x 1200 pix., extra headphones and 6 x USB 2.0. more network connection

This official docking station works with all USB-connect computers, but in the compatibility list does not mention the Terca A10 and gives only a declaration of compatibility for the series Toshiba NB200 from Toshiba.

Someone out there experimenting with this docking station?

What would be the best way to work with two monitors + the computer screen?

Thanks for all the good advice.

    Michael

    Hello

As much as I know Express Port Replicator supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI only if the laptop itself also supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI.
So if the Tecra A10 1GV would support the use of RGB and DVI port simultaneously then Express Port Replicator should support too.

The Port USB Dynadock Port Replicator support VGA or DVI port. I didn't find the Dynadock, which was equipped with two ports together.
The Dynadock can be connected to all computers with USB 2.0 and it beautiful s expansion.

  • Express Port Replicator II and Tecra A10 - 12Z - only the power and LAN

Since my Toshiba T3600CT I received with docking station, I discovered that I have a docking station. In the meantime, I had a small Sony who had no docking station, for which I got one of the first USB docking station and since then I've seen always to get laptops with docking station.

But this time something went really wrong, the Toshiba Express Port Replicator II PA3680E-2PRP provides only power and LAN. There is no power in the USB ports, so no serial port or the sound, and DVI and VGA are also disabled.

All these ports work fine on the Tecra A10, but not on the docking station.

Of course, it is nice to have the power and LAN, but not when I expected too much of everything.
So I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem, it is like upgrading the BIOS for me who have not installed all the necessary software, or is it a fuse or something I could fix myself or is it a faulty docking that shouldn't have left the factory?

    Hello

What's your Tecra pre-installed with original recovery image?

When the laptop is preinstalled with recovery image simply connect compatible laptop Toshiba docking station and all the devices connected to the docking station will be recognized correctly and all available ports should work fine.
Is that a Port Replicator basically "replica" ports on the laptop.

On this virtual path, we cannot say that this port is 100% OK. What can you say about it? you bought is used a?

  • Tecra A11 for PA3508E-PRP1 (Express Port Replicator)?

The Express Port Replicator PA3508E PRP1 can be used with Tecra A11? Given all that I have read the answer would be no, or Advanced Port Replicator or Express Port Replicator II would be necessary. But the port replicators are very similar on the upper side (connectors). Perhaps it is an old item that no one it lists as compatible more precisely?

is that you must use compatible devices only with laptop Tecra yout and according to specification for your Tecra A11, you can use Express Port Replicator II with PA3680E-1PRP part number.

This port replicator is designed for latest Tecra and Portege laptop models.

  • Tecra A9 - Express Port Replicator: DVI does not

I recently bought a Toshiba Express Port Replicator for my laptop Toshiba Tecra A9 PTS52E because I need DVI to connect my external monitor to the laptop Tecra A9 has only a built-in VGA.

After you connect the laptop to the monitor I get no output on the external monitor, however. Descriptions of Replicator Port Express said that it has a DVI - D, my monitor has a DVI - D and the cable is a cable DVI - D single link so everything * should * work.
I don't get out Visual at any time, nor in the BIOS (I can't find any options BIOS based DVI as well) or the OS.

What is the trick to get this working? I have tested the monitor on the other workstations and the VGA out of the docking station works with other monitors as well, but unfortunately not via DVI with that I want to use.

  • Tecra A11 & Express Port Replicator II - USB problems

    Hello

I'm having a problem with a port replicator that I simple couldn't have resolved for months. I'll try to explain this as best I can.

We have a Tecra A11, which seems to work fine running on Windows 7 Professional. When the Tecra A11 is pluged in an Express Port Replicator 2, not USB ports in the port replicator's work at all. Very good cell phone fees and the LAN switches on the replicator fine, but the USB ports simly does not work under any circumstances. It would also be interesting to note that the green light next to the "eject" button lights never really.

I downloaded and installed the latest series driver for Windows 7 from the Toshiba support page which has no effect. We had 2 replacements for Toshiba because they also agreed that the previous, we had were not woring correctly, but this obviously was not the case because we still have the same problem with our 3rd unit. The Tecra A11 was sent back to Toshiba with case notes clearly describing the question, and he was sent to us "no fault found".

Unfortunately, we don't have any other laptops to test on the port replicator. but I'm seriously suspect that the problem lies in the laptop, rather than the port replicator. For any idea or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Steve.

    Hello

According to your message, you are not sure if the problem is related to the defective laptop Tecra or express port replicator.
Hmm theoretically the problem might be related to defective express port replicator or Tecra.

If found some information on the USB ports and the repliators port:

+ Make sure that the element of Legacy USB in the BIOS emulation is set to "Enabled". This feature only works for the keyboard and mouse. Also note that the keyboard and mouse must be connected before you start the computer. A USB mouse, keyboard or the floppy drive connected to the Port Replicator via any other connection that a hub of the first level, will not work until the operating system has started. +

I also recommend to check the version of the BIOS; If the most recent BIOS is available, then you need to update this

    BSOD is a STOP 0x0000007E in igxpmp32.sys

I downloaded and installed the latest video drivers intel from the Web from Toshiba - 6.14.10.4953 site

Any help or advice by eliminating the BSOD would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi mate,

I asked Google to igxpmp32.sys and this file belongs to the Intel display driver. In your case, I recommend the page Intel searching for the latest display drivers.

Also have a look on the Toshiba site for a BIOS update, or you have already installed the latest version of the BIOS?

In addition, it would be interesting to know what Port Replicator you use exactly. Can you post the model number?
