Use of with Qosmio laptop recovery disk

I had someone reinstall WXP without the recovery disk and Qosmio engine that I don't have them. Now miss me things like Bluetooth, the manual for the laptop, as well as other applications, and others.

Toshiba sent me replacement discs. Now I have them. I need to do a reformat-re-install all the windows system to recover my old computer? I downloaded the manual tonight but I n t think he responds to this situation that I can remember. Nothing on the poles or the other.

Someone at - he do it before?
Thank you

Hello world!  I hope someone can help.

Can I use my Windows 7 Edition recovery disks Home Premium for a clean install on my old Windows XP computer?

If this is a recovery from a different computer disk, you are unable to do so.

In addition, if you were to format the computer, you will need to have a way to reinstall a copy of Windows with a genuine license.

The best option if you need Windows 7 Home Premium is to buy a genuine license then you can make a custom (new installation).

  • Qosmio G30 - recovery disk to unzip files, but nothing happens

I have a Qosmio G30 running Windows XP MCE. Windows has somehow was corrupt and laptop could only be started in safe mode. I backed up all my data but when I run the restore disc, it gets to 100%, but then nothing else happens. It says to eject the disc, but then just restarts automatically and that's all. I can't even open in safe mode now because it indicates that the installation is incomplete and I must rerun the recovery. I tried this but nothing helped.

I'm stuck because now I can not open in safe mode.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tested what happens with Microsoft XP disc?
In addition, I would try to format the HARD drive first. Therefore, you can use a Microsoft disc to wipe the entire HARD disk. After that try the recovery disk again.

  • Can I use on another identical laptop recovery partition?

I can't access or find the partition recovery on a laptop but another I have almost the same, there just a disc extra, a little faster and more memory for the video card. Is it possible to copy the partition recovery starting to restore the other and when the Vista key product changes that came with the machine that I restore?

Microsoft said that the key is still valid, but there may be some problems with drivers or other problems later and that I might get a Toshiba Recovery disk. The reason why they gave was that it must be returned to the factory. What do they mean, is it delete partitions, format the drive? All this will be done by the restore process so I don't see how that will stop it but maybe the will of BCD. In any case, what do mean by 'presets '?

At first, I must say that the original image recovery is designed specific software separately for each laptop model. With other words, you cannot use the image of the recovery on two machines with different hardware platform. Pilots are not the same.

Second important thing is that you may be able to copy certain image on a machine, but you will not be able to have access to it and you will not be able to start the recovery image installation.

N my option best opinion for you is to get the original recovery for your machine installation disc and you'll be sure that installation works and you'll have the right image is installed.

Original installation disc of recovery can be ordered on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    > 1. How to create a DVD repair or start for windows 8.1 pro with UEFI Bios and boot secured.
To be able to boot from sources other than the drive HARD internal, the boot mode must be set to the CSM and secure boot must be disabled!

    > 2. I created a USB recovery using the control panel in Windows Pro 8.1. It starts OK. It will be the same as that I've created using the Toshiba Media recovery creator or will it drivers Windows Pro 8.1?

Your laptop has been preloaded with Win 8. Right? For example, the USB flash stick memory you just use the Toshiba Recovery media creator contains the Image of Toshiba with Windows 8. Don t mix this Toshiba image with the image that can be created using Microsoft's own backup and restore function. Both are different pictures!

    > 3. Check it with disk management, then 3 (450MO, 350 MB and GB 10.90) recovery partitions, 1 EFI system partition and 2 partitions primary (C: programs) and D: for data. I created the recovery DVD and USB 2 disks. Can I remove the 3 recovery partitions?

The last partition contains the files on HARD drive recovery. Usually this partition will be created again when you use the Toshiba Recovery disk to put the laptop back to factory settings. So in the case where you n t need this files or the partition, you can delete

  • Satellite A200 - 1 CG PSAE3E: BIOS corrupted - solved with the crisis recovery disk

    Hi all

I would like to report on the success of the recovery of corrupted bios on my Satellite A200 - 1 CG (PSAE3E).
Like many others I downloaded a latest bios update for my laptop and it started under Windows 7 64-bit.

In fact I only needs of some practical information from the bios update tool, but the update started automatically
without a question. :( After several blocks has been updated the progress bar stuck a heterocycle.
In 2 minutes, I got only the system completely frozen. I turned off the system manually, it works again, and...
my laptop was completely dead: screen etc black and of course, I wasn't able to boot in Windows 7.

So for those who only plans to update the bios: DO NOT update the BIOS ON the SATELLITE UNDER WINDOWS! THE UPDATE MAY BE STUCK!

I searched on the web has found a solution. With a specially created disk and external usb floppy drive, the problem can be solved then

I tried the recovery procedure described here, but it did not help. Earlier versions of tool phlash16.exe
where it is not able to restore the bios. I heard that the disk was read constantly for about 2 minutes. After the recommended 5 min break, I changed the power of and then turned back on it and... I had the same darkness of the screen as before :(

The strange thing is that the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe also did not work, but it was different from the earlier version. If I used the older version of the tool, the disk has been read for about 2 min, if used the latest version of the disk was read for about 10 seconds. It was for me, as the bios was not simply read by the tool.

So I searched and searched again. Then I found it: it takes phlash.ini to the phlash16.exe!
I downloaded an old bios (something from 2007) for an unknown Toshiba laptop to the Toshiba site. I renamed both the archive and found a phlash.ini inside. I changed only the second line in the ini file of... = 0 to... = 1 (I guess).

Then I formatted the diskette under dos, copied the minidos.sys he phlash16.exe (latest version), a new bios for my laptop in BIOS. WPH (I guess) and after a phlash.ini has been fixed. After that, I started the crisis recovery makeboot.exe utility (found on the site, which I mentioned earlier). After that, I have the phone in recovery mode (Fn + B) bootet and... It worked like a charm. So, the important thing was the phlash.ini!

So for those who has the same problem with corrupt bios, I've had: it's phlash.ini and the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe.
All other information can be retrieved on the web site, which I mentioned earlier. The described method works with the phoenix bios!

    So good Look

    Kind regards
    Igor

    Thanks for the friend information
But to be honest, the procedure of BIOS is always a sensitive issue and I would be always careful in using such things.

When even good to know that your device is running again!

  • Problem creating on the new laptop recovery disks

    Hi Forum:

I started the procedure of creation of recovery on a HP Pavilion g6 disk.  The laptop was bought this morning at Costco.

I used discs DVD + R DL for a package that had been previously used for other creations of recovery disc (on other new computers, of course.).  The first drive put in place and the creation of the first (of three) ran discs then hung to 54% of this disk check is completed.  I left him for two hours, and it has not changed. No doubt had hung up.

It's frustrating because this is the second time in two days that this product. Yesterday, the system blocked when you create a set of recovery discs after the first disc was created and it was gone in half way through the second disc.

I know that Costco could also resume this current computer but I don't have the time to do it before the owners go on vacation. My choice is to make a deal AcronisTrue Image backup (done) then return to Costco later when they came back.

I think it might be the discs that I use and who are at fault, with the exception of the fact that I could do a full game just four days using the discs to a same parcel.

Everyone has problems with the "program on laptops current HP HP Restore disc creation?

Thanks again Cheryl.  I think you're right.  I had better call HP and explain what happened.  I won't be able to do for some time that the people who are owners go on vacation tomorrow and need with them for email and Skype.

Here is a link to confirm what I said, it's on this computer:

  • Win 8 used to start the system recovery disk

    No fatcory can reset

    Hello

You may need to disable Secure Boot and hardware enable in the Menu of the Bios first.

In addition, if your HARD drive has a GUID partition table, and you want the operating system to boot from the uefi firmware, don't forget to choose the entry for the optical drive that has (uefi) in the boot manager - see "Adding value to recovery disks" in the document of HP on the following link.

  • The laptop recovery disks can work with Office?

    Hello.

I recently had a hard drive matrix, on me, on a computer purchased recently renovated.  It is the desktop HP P6 - 2327c. I bought a Western Digital Blue 1 TB for her.

I also have a HP laptop, the Pavilion dv6-1230us.  It came with 4 DVD to reinstall Windows 8 and the media.

My question is, can I use these media for my office? (My Office was running 8.1 Windows 64-bit, so I can go again through the app Store of Windows).

Or I have to buy DVDs for my office?

    Thank you!

    Hello:

You have nothing to lose by trying the laptop disks but they will probably not work.

    They check a BIOS supported.

You'll probably have to buy a set of recovery disc for your PC by clicking on the link below and then click to expand the link order recovery media.

  • HP Pavilion dm4 - create from an identical laptop recovery disks?

I bought two HP Pavillion dm4s is about 2 years old, they are exactly the same, one for each child. One of them reported an imminent failure of the HD, I ran diagnosis and there is a smart hard disk error, I have re-sat HD, no luck.   I created a back up to a separate HD and ordered a replacement HD.

My question is... can I create recovery discs from the other laptop to use for the recovery of the laptop with the failing HD?

    Hello

As long as the machines (and the version of Windows - IE the Home Premium etc.) are identica, then Yes, the discs created on 1 machine should work correctly on the other.

Note:  Be sure to replace the failed drive HARD with one of the same capacity (or slightly larger) - installing a lower capacity drive is likely to cause problems with the recovery process.

    Kind regards

  • No software on my laptop recovery disk

I don't have the HP Recovery Manager software installed on my computer. Can I download it somewhere? I can't find anywhere on the HP website. My laptop is HP Pavillion DV6500SE that with 32-bit of Windows Vista. Symbol of my computer is HP DV6699EW.

    Large.

Unfortunately, using the recovery media creation utility HP is an event of the time. This is why we use it you it turns gray outside in the HP Recovery Manager menu.

An alternative is to clone the current hard drive to the new hard disk by the use of software cloning in a desktop computer. Using a USB to SATA cable and cloning software are another option.
