Use Officejet 6000 E609n of ink

My color inks impoverish even though I have my settings to print the "black ink only.

The printer uses little ink to keep clear print heads.  When printing, the print heads are restless on in the air and the color, print heads gets dirty if little ink is not spit on the nozzles before the print heads are capped.  See here for more information about using ink in printing.

  • OfficeJet 6000 E609n: HP Officejet 6000 does not connect wireless modem.

I have Windows 8.1.  My HP Officejet 6000 wireless printer E609n worked well, until the modem is dead and a new one has been installed (new address).  I need to know how to recognize the new network address.  (Note: I tried to install the original installation software, but the CD would run under Windows 8).

    Hi @indyham

You can use the following link to download and install the full software functionality for Windows 8.1; Printer wireless HP Officejet 6000 - E609n.

    I hope this helps.

  • OfficeJet 6000 E609n print on USB. I can't make it work wireless

    HP Officejet 6000 E609n Win 7 64 bit

My printer works on a USB connection, but I was not able to do

function on a network wireless router connection.

    Router is Linksys WRT160N V3.

I used all of the solutions recommended in the instructions from HP.

OK, since you get the error "the selected printer is not present." during installation, here are a few troubleshooting that should help you narrow down the cause and resolve the problem:

The printer is not found during Network Installation in Windows

  • For officejet 6000 e609n driver not installed

I installed the full driver for Officejet 6000 e609e and windows 7 says not installed with an error code 28 driver for officejet 6000 e609n.

I solved the problem yesterday and posted my solution to 17:25 - my solution is somewhat against HP installation method (I think).  I have a small wireless network and the printer is shared.  Here is my solution, but I would like to thank you for having responded.

It may be wise to reboot before continuing the installation process.

Make sure that your printer is on (on).

Access your installation from a CD, file or elsewhere and starts to run it.

    • Click on 'add a device '.
    • Choose "wireless 802.11 network connection" or one of the other two choices as adapts to your situation.
    • Select your printer by clicking it.

  • OfficeJet 6000 E609n: One color (black) does not print

Background the color black does not print.
Background page printed from the printer status indicates that there is no black ink. This impression has said that there is sufficient (at least 20%) supply of three coloured inks. Per the comment above, no black printing does appear on the page printed of the status of the printer, even if the black cartridge has been rather recently installed (2015-12-24).
Background none of the four "low ink" lights on the printer are turned on.
Background the State indicated by the HP Solution Center utility displays a green check mark, that is to say, that everything is OK.
Background the "estimated ink levels" in the utility HP Solution Center indicate that the black ink cartridge is about 60% full.
Background I've done the first of these two cleaning procedures to clean the print head. It produces no change. (In fact twice.)
Background I removed the power cord to the printer and unplugged the power cord from the source and then wait 10 seconds. Then I reconnected things together. Nothing has changed.
Background I cleaned the vent for the black cartridge.
Background I replaced the black cartridge. The level indicated on the "Estimated ink levels" in the HP Solution Center utility now indicate that the black ink cartridge is 100% full.  No change.

Background now, I think that the problem may be the print head.  I am discouraged.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi @Upper_Left,

It seems as if the HP product registration service is temporarily unavailable.

Normally you get invited to register immediately after installation is complete.

It's a Web page that can help you know if the printer is listed, or as aid re-register once the number of available service - Registration Question Index.

The term of defective kernel is used which means that the defective part you are replacing is the same part that you send back.

When you select the option to change the replacement part is usually repaired or refurbished, is why there is such a difference in price between the parties. It seems that if the defective part is not returned within the specified time. 'faulty base tax' is loaded.

I can't say for sure 100% that the problem will be resolved to the replacement printhead. If the printer was in warranty, it would be the normal order of operations.

Please click the "accept as Solution" and the "thumbs up" button up on top of my first response above and other similar issues may find the easiest solution.

    Thank you!

  • OfficeJet 6000 E609n worked fine until I added new cartridges. It wouldn't print. Mac lion.

I unplugged and re plugged. No help. I deleted the printer and I tried to add it and got the message the selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add if you want to download and add this printer. I tried 3 or 4 times and Apple says it has no software for the printer. I tried to download a driver to HP.com and HP says that the driver is available from Apple. WHAT TO DO.

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Restart your Mac.

    Reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • Cartridge Officejet 6000 E609n Magenta has stopped printing

The magenta cartridge has suddenly stopped printing several days ago. The last time it always printed, there were large vertical green lines on the right side (that I see) of the image. Now the only color that print is ugly green. I have always used HP cartridges only.

GOOD NEWS: This problem seems to be resolved. The printer started working perfectly again after I have it disconnected from the power supply, wait 10 seconds, then all reconnected.

  • OfficeJet 6000 E609n - Wireless concludes SSID and secure network but will not connect

I use Mac OS 10.5.8. I installed the printer for USB and went to the next step to configure wireless. My secure network, it obtains the SSID and then asks the WPA personal password for the network. I enter this and click on continue and the message comes back, "the Wi - Fi network selected «...»» ' is not within reach of the unit. ' Button choices are 'Change network' or 'Retry '. Despite attempts unsuccessfully repeated. However, I scanned for other networks and found a secure and connected to this network. Go figure. My router is sitting on my desk next to the printer. The router is a D - Link DIR-655 n I'm on cable for ISP services. When I first bought the printer, we were away on vacation, and I've successfully added to my Mac laptop. I have reset the printer found in the then successful and user guide to establish a connection to the House, with the unsecured network (I don't live in a condo so no idea whence the other network). Thank you.

You can try to update the firmware on your router.  Some of these models have had problems with HP printers and Netgear was subsequently fixed it with a new version of the firmware.

  • HP Officejet 6000 wireless E609n double-sided printing Option not available

I have the printer above with a duplexer. There is no available duplex printing option in the print dialog box.  If I open the application HP Officejet 6000 E609n, under settings > Options tab > printing HP accessory two-sided (duplexer) is not checked. When I check it, then the duplex printing option is available in the print dialog box. However, after a print job with two back, the option is no longer available for further work. Reopening of the HP Officejet 600 E609n application reveals that the two box HP-sided accessor (duplexer) printing automatically returns to the off State.

  • Stop 6000 E609n print alignment PAGE. When turned on. Tried alignment of the control panel.

Whenever I turn on the Officejet 6000 E609n wireless printer prints an alignment page.  How can I stop this?

I tried aligning the printhead from the control panel and that does not stop the problem.   After that, I thought I'd try the box alignment tools of the printer but could not find it.   When I tried to go to the HP Solution Center, all I could get were geographical locations.  Also did not try the third method to align the print properties.

From the center of solution... Follow the same steps to print a clean printhead... but this time to print a quality report...

  • Officejet 6000 ink

I have an Officejet 6000 ink and i ' ts was set up to print only in black.  The other day he had run more black ink and to my great surprise, he was also out the other colors of ink.  I bought a new cartridge 920xl and to my surprise that has not fixed the problem.  So the question is that I have all the work ink cartridges can get this printer to print again... ?? .. . If so that was a waste of money by buying the black cartridge, because it costs more than the ink, then what I paid for the printer.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this problem with the black print cartridge and printing. You need to replace all the other cartridges so that the printer to print to.

Some older printers mode allows to print with just black only, but it does not work. Even if you want to print in BLACK ONLY, your color cartridges still used to mix with black to form a TRUE COLOR BLACK. It's only a small amount of each used cartridge, but after awhile, it will need replaced.

So will have to get the other cartridges back, until the printer reverts to the normal state and printing.

  • Cartridge, HP 920 XL: Wireless HP Officejet 6000, the problem of black ink printer

I have a HP Officejet 6000 wireless printer.  It's 2nd HP 920 XL cartridge that has not worked.  It does not show that it is empty, but it will not be printed.  Our school cannot afford to replace these at this rate.  Please let me know what to do to make this work correctly.

I removed the printer as my default so that I could use another printer.  When I ran the program again to check for problems, the guest asked me to add the printer returned as default.   When I reconnected it the printer as long as my default, I tested the printer and it worked.  Don't know why remove and then add back in the set, but he did.

  • Don't print black ink (HP Officejet 6000 E609a Series)

HP Officejet 6000 E609a Series - do not black ink print ---
No warning light indicates low ink levels, so I called "solutions Center". The chart shows all cartridges, color and black to be virtually complete. I then replace the black cartridge with a new cartridge 920XL, thinking that the original could be defective. Same as before results! I (1) printed to a printer status report (2) print a print quality diagnostics page, (3) aligned the print heads and (4) cleaned the print heads, all to nothing does not. I even carefully cleaned the container for the black cartridge with a Q-Tip to collect a small amount of excess ink. Color cartridges are printing very well but the black cartridges will not print. (Either by the way, it seemed to happen suddenly, not gradually). I would be sincerely acknowledging all recommendations to solve this problem.
    Thank you... RP
