Use the laptop power adapter and remove the battery?

I want to preserve the life of the battery by removing the battery and the adapter to power the laptop. What is a good/bad method? Please advice.

Hello

I do the same thing. I am the owner of the Satellite P20 and removal of the battery is very easy. I do every time if the unit is connected to the power supply. It is certainly not bad method.

Good bye

Is it possible to do a power management, that use the battery as long as there is power in the battery and the first when there is no more power use the external power supply, which has been active all the time without loss of battery charge?

Batteries wear out with use.  And they can wear out more when you do not use unless you physically remove them.  If you travel a lot, you will have to bite the bullet and buy new batteries every two years.  If you are usually connected to a power outlet, remove the battery and it will last much longer.  For more details, refer to the User Guide.  Different brands and models my vary in their recommendations.

  • OMEN of HP for computer laptop 15-ax006no: best way to use the battery

    Hello!

I bought a HP OMEN for computer laptop 15-ax006no (http://store.hp.com/SwedenStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=X9Z44EA & opt = UUW & salt = NTB) earlier this week and I wonder how is best to use and to keep the battery?

-Should I disconnect the battery when I have access to outlet?

    - Or should I fully charge and then use remove the charger and only work on battery?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Batteries and Chargers for modern laptops are now smarter than we thought. They stop to load when 100% full

    1. Should I disconnect the battery when I have access to outlet? You, the risk is down, you have no backup power supply and it can kill your machine, speciall if she had a normal HARD drive.
    2. Or should I fully charge and then use remove the charger and only work on battery? This isn't a good idea because the battery will run out and you will need to recharge which means increase in cycles and the charge battery will die earlier.

My option: maintain the battery even when plugin

  • NB200 122 - loading using the battery power options

    Dear all

I recently bought a Toshiba NB 200-122 Mini Netbook, I tried to use all the power options (full power)... always shows 15% battery (charge) even if I kept it charging for a day in hibernation mode... (when connected to the power unit).

Other laptops would be fully load 100% when it is connected to the unit of power for one day...

Why the netbook battery is slow or not clean load?...
Or other options with her... Or having to drain the battery completely and use it...

Could someone suggest me some advice about this...

    Thank you

    regards Sarah

    Hi Sarah,.

I agree with the user above. You should try a BIOS update you can find the Toshiba site. Before applying it, close all programs running also your antivirus and firewall and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

In the worst case you battery is damaged or some cells in it. You can get a spare to an authorized service provider.

  • Satellite L655-1EL impossible implementation using the battery

    Nice day!

I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L655-1EL computer laptop, I can't turn it - on the use of its battery, but when I plug it using the AC adapter the battery light indicator shows white and when I check it after I turn it on with AC adapter and go to the Toshiba Diagnostics tool his shows that the battery is fully charged and it is in good condition. I wonder how that happened?

Please help and thanks in advance.

    Hello

What happens if you unplug the AC adapter when the laptop is running?

    The laptop shut down automatically?

Do not know what could cause this but I recommend that you first update the BIOS.
If the question was still available, then you should check if the new block could help solve this problem

  • lap top when it is plugged is low, when you use the battery it is brilliant.

It started 2 days ago and I have not changed any settings. A friend told me to do a few things that did not work. Someone told me it's the battery and I need a new.  But that makes sense to me. Should we not the brighter screen when your using a source of energy? If your don't use only not the battery, how can the battery need replacing?

Check the brightness screen in Power Options settings - you can set the level of brightness for battery and AC operation, looks like yours need to be adjusted.

  • Display to display base Windows aero changes when you use the battery only

    original title: basic display Windows

Each time, I unplugged and running off my block the display configuration changes to Windows 7 Basic.  I have change for a theme aero setting initially, it came with but everything it will use is Windows 7 basic when disconnected.  It uses only the aero effect when the laptop is plugged.  I would like to use aero while plugged in or unplugged it just don't apply it for some reason any.

    Hello

Looks like your battery may not be generating enough power to manage the resources that are required by the Aero display.

You can create a detailed report on the State of the battery to double check the battery status.

    1. go to Start / all programs / Accessories. Click on the command prompt and select run as administrator.

2 in the command prompt window, copy / paste the following command.

    powercfg-energy-output %userprofile%\desktop\energy-report.html

    Press ENTER.

Wait for the command to complete (usually about 2 minutes).

This create a file named energy - report.html and place it on your desktop.

3 go to your desktop and double-click the file to open.

Scroll to the bottom for the battery: battery information section.

    You will see:

    Rated xxxxx

    Xxxxx full last Charge

    (Where xxxxx is a number)

Copy this article and paste in an answer here, for analysis.

  • Agent of photos using the battery

    Hello

Recently 'Photos Agent' used a lot of energy, and I can not identify why. It will appear under 'apps using significant energy' and my fan go crazy mad and my computer feels as if it were about to melt. I checked all the settings to iCloud and Photos don't use iCloud at all - at least, do not (it's somehow, which is also starting to annoy me, because it was never implemented in the first place).

I do not see that it is iCloud and it does nothing between iPhoto and Photos because I deleted iPhoto, so he could be?

Very probably (given any details on your system), is looking for people - it is slow and is best done with the computer connected to the power supply

  • Apple pencil using the battery... Why is Pen MS so much better?

I know that Apple pencil has many more features than the Microsoft Pen.  Many more sensors.  The exchangeable pen tip.  Latency is also claimed to be superior.  I can understand power/battery usage could be higher to achieve this objective, but there is always a big problem of the difference between the load once a week and once a year in charge

    What are you talking about?

Read here: for a quick charge, plug your Apple pencil into the connector of the lightning on your iPad Pro. If the battery runs out, you can just load from your iPad Pro for 15 seconds and 30 minutes of use
