  • I suddenly lost Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel: right click anywhere on the desktop or the folder > > New > > Excel or Word or Powerpoint. How to bring back this ability?

For a long time, I always made the following steps to create a new file in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or Visio:

1 - right click anywhere on the desktop (or inside any folder)

2 Select 'new' from the context menu that is displayed > select Word (or Excel or...)

3 - Filename is [you are prompted for... and so on.

A few days ago this ability to disappear quietly.  I did not have any new software installation or reconfiguration, other than the usual Windows updates (if there is one) and update MS Security Essentials.

How do I return this very useful feature?

    Hello

You have discovered a problem with Windows 7. To resolve this problem, I recommend a program called FileMenu Tools. You can download the portable freeware from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .

After having downloaded and installed the program, you will notice that, by default, each option is checked. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

  • FireFox won't let me not do right click to change the bookmark names

I recently bought a new computer and downloaded FireFox. When you add my favorite sites to my bookmark, the names are added automatically. They are too long, and I want to change them, but FF is not letting me do a right click to change the name.

When I right click, it just goes to the bookmark as if I used a left click. Right-click on the computer itself works, but is not trying to change anything in a toolbar.

    Any suggestions?

Unchecking "use hardware acceleration" was the solution for me. I can not right click on these bookmarks now.

    Thank you!

I used to do a right click on a step and select "Show step in a context tab. I could then modify values etc. on the fly. In the latest version of Teststnd I don't know where I can do. It was very convenient to change values etc. during development.

    Any help appreciated.

There is a context menu "Show Step into Variables" which does exactly the same thing. It's called a Variables view rather than a context TestStand 4.0 and higher.

    Hope this helps,

    Hello

    1. have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1: Try to boot in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

If the issue does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

    Hi VanesaHarbottle,

The following two articles, especially the second, should help you with the installation of new drivers:

Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.

Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the device as Manager

    I hope this helps.

Can someone advise me something in Lightroom please CC. When I export files once after you have finished the adjustments etc. and I click 'Save with the previous' - how to find where it was recorded, if I forgot the last folder saved to?

I guess you mean "Export with previous. If so, open the export page. It will be defined as "precedent".

  • Do a right click to save the bookmark to the folder now. It saves to open general list. I use to be able to record in a selected folder.

I have have3.6.15 on Win XP Pro system. I recently noticed that I can no longer right click on a web page to save it in a folder of selected bookmarks. It is saved without the possibility of choice at the end of the list of General bookmarks. I use to get a box to select a folder to save the new web page. Any ideas? Thank you

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the Add-ons is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

    • Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

Right click and I get a picture of the entire window (tabs above, the entire site). When I try to point sth (on the menu) it starts flashing (picture, menu, picture...). It drives me crazy. I even tried system reinstall and it happens again.

I'm working on laptop. It is not a beast but not some junk too.

    Any ideas?

Hello montone, maybe it's a problem with hardware acceleration - try updating your graphic driver, or in case this does not solve the problem, or there is no new version available at the time, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.

  • Disable the right click Menu of the WebBrowser

    Hi all

I use a WebBrowser control to display a Test report in XML format.  The problem I have is that right-clicking on WebBrowser displays a context menu.  Anyone know how to remove the right click menu option?  If not does anyone know a method to display XML files using an indicator that does not include a right click menu?

I've tried to filter the clicks right on WebBrowser, as shown, but this seems to need the delay of 500ms (?) to work on my machine of dev of LV and is not reliable when my application is integrated in an EXE and deployed in a LV Run Time System.

    Concerning

    Steve

    Hi SercoSteveB,

Because the WebBrowser of LabVIEW control uses Internet Explorer. The best way to disable the contextual framework

menu is disable in fact from the Internet Explorer itself. I think that your default browser is not Internet Explorer,

It is therefore prudent to disable right click here.

Here is the manual that explains how do:

Activate or deactivate the contextual menus right click in Windows Explorer

    http://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-disable-right-click-context-menus-Windows-Explorer

    I hope that helps!

When an application MS Office shortcut menu right click does not work; the material of Mouse & touchpad work. When this and other applications (especially when online) the menu pop-up Windows Live is automatically displayed when the cursor is over the menu options of the application (file, publishing, display, etc.).  ESC should be pressed to remove Windows Live menus so that the menu of the application are available.  I ran a Virus and SpyBot check, but nothing was detected.  Can you please help.

    Hello

A defective Explorer shell extension in the right click menu seems to be the problem. It could also be linked to the third-party software.

Follow the method 1 and method 2 to resolve this problem.

    Method 1:

To check if the problem is caused by a third-party application, put your system at startup boot and see if right click works fine then.

See this article for more details.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Method 2:

To see if the Explorer shell extension is corrupted or not, open the registry editor and save the selected branch, remove managers of context menus one by one.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

Open the registry editor and save the branch selected, delete management context menus one by one.

    To access the Registry Editor:

    (a) go to start and type regedit.exe.

    (b) managers of context menus are located in

    ·        [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFileSystemObjects\shellex\ contextmenuhandlers]

    ·        [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\contextmenuhandlers]

    ·        [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\contextmenuhandlers]

    (c) select 'Register' - 'Export register', so you can restore your changes later. Choose to export only the selected branch.

    (d) now remove a context menu Manager after another, and then every time try (Windows Explorer) if right click works again. In this way, you should find the faulty extension.

    (e) when you've found, you must double-click on the .reg created above to restore all shell extensions and then only delete the faulty extension.

Also check the properties of sensitivity of touchpad and mouse under the controls of the mouse.

  • lack of right-click menu on the taskbar

Hello.  I was clicking on the menu right click on the bar of tasks and managed to accidentally do the menu disappears.  I wonder how do I get it back.  I tried right-clicking on the Start button to get the properties of the taskbar, but it does not contain an option for this.  I am running Windows 7 SP1.  After search in the Microsoft Knowledge base, it seems, there is a way to do it for an earlier version of the operating system, but the instructions are not applicable to Windows 7 (I tried).  FYI, my taskbar is visible and locked, so there is no problem with that.  Of course, without the menu, I can't hide, unlock, or move the taskbar, not that I'm worried.
