"User intervention required" network OfficeJet 6500 E709a on Windows 8 print

I have an OfficeJet 6500 all-in-in-one E709a connected to my router wireless via an ethernet cable. 2 computers (Win XP and Windows 8 64 bit) connected wireless to this network. The Win XP computer can print without problem, but the Win 8 computer print jobs in queue and says "User interaction" required

A few notes:

* It seems that Windows already installed drivers for this printer. It is available in the window "Devices and printers", having the status of "user Intervention."

* I don't want to install the complete software if I can avoid it

* I checked that the printer is NOT in offline mode / pause

* I tried stop the spooler service, delete the temporary files, and then restarting the spooler, as suggested, on a MS windows forum

* Windows 8 is a new computer; It has never worked before

* I tried to restart the printer, but that did not help. Windows detects when it it turned off and rebooted, but when it is restarted it goes straight to mode "user Intervention."

* The software HP to select the "good" pilot says that it cannot find the drivers for my printer

* HP does not seem to offer a download drivers only for my combination printer/Win 8

Help, please.

Thank you

Skinny, looks to have a configuration issue with the printer. What we will do is to uninstall the printer completely and reinstall following in my footsteps. This will give use a shift even to work from.

First of all, if you use a USB cable, be sure to remove it (it's important). Do not plug it in again until the software instructs you. Through devices and printers, programs and features and issues Device Manager and make sure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. As indicated, and then restart the computer.

I have a HP officejet 6500 E709a all-in-one printer. Part woks fine print. The scanner only works 5% of the time. • HP OfficeJet 6500 (E709a) network problems

Hello. I have a new HP OfficeJet 6500 (E709a) its all in one. I'm trying to use it through a network at home.

He was already working for 1 computer, a laptop wireless, BUT not for me, an ethernet wired desktop.

    PC: Windows 7 64-bit

Laptop: Windos Vista (not sure if 32 or 64) using printer wireless successfully.

Well, the problem is when you try to scan from the printer or computer does not detect the other BUT I can print from my pc to the printer.

I installed it via PC add a printer because whenever I tried with the program downloaded from HP, it does not, NEVER detect my printer connected and already tested. I can access the Web page printers, the 0.0.0.0.0 something page. I even tried the Advanced installation method, manually type the address of the printer has, but it still wouldn't work.

I installed by selecting everything I would like to wire my printer later but to continue the installation, I have to find a way so that it can detect my pc or the otherway autour.

Yes, connect the printer to your router with an Ethernet cable run it the device to add in the Hewlett-Packard folder (start > all programs).

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709a: Scanning and Windows 10

In the program compatibility Windows 10, he said that my printer all-in-One (HP Officejet 6500 E709a) was compatible with Windows 10 so I have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I still can not print, but cannot scan.  I tried to install the drivers from this site but no help.  I deleted ALL my computer hp software and installed the suggested drivers but still no help.  Can someone tell me something that works?  My HP Officejet 6500 E709a is connected by a CAT 5 network cable to a hub connected to my computer.

    Thank you!

    Hi @deltatrooper,

I see that you are still not able to scan with HP Solution Center on Windows 10.

Were you able to scan from the Windows Fax and Scan windows software?

Please try the steps listed in @JohnGPB post. Scan function lost after upgrade Windows 10

There are several steps to go and change the registry to remove the HP printer files.

Note: For other users using a computer HP not work not level 4, just level 3 Uninstall Uninstalling.

I would like to know what the results are. Thank you.

  • Print the "user intervention required

When printing on my HP Officejet Pro 8500 a printer wireless, I recently failed so that he could respond. The print status field States: "user intervention required". The screen on the printer now shows "printing" but no printing occurs.  I restarted my printer, which sometimes, then prints a stored item previously. I ran printing HP and Scan Doctor; no problems found. Yesterday, some printed, others do not. I am trying to print documents Windows 2010 using Ctrl P. Apart from automatic software updates, there has been no recent changes. Toner level is indicated as 'low '.

This is true for both computers on my network.

I can't find a FAQ that deals with the issue.

Can someone explain what is wrong and how to fix this, please?

    Hello jimbas,

When you have restarted the printer also tried restarting your computer?

The printer is connected wireless to all printers on your network?

Once you have run the print scan doctor he managed to find the printer? So there was communication between the computer and the printer?

Have you tried other programs besides office documents? such as Notepad

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709A on new HP Desktop Windows 8.1 installation problems

    Hello

I'm troubleshooting an issue on all new HP Envy Desktop from my father-in-law and its existing OfficeJet 6500 E709A.  It came with Windows pre-installed 8.0, and I ran Windows Update to apply all the necessary patches, which included the upgrade from PC to Windows 8.1.  His previous PC is a Dell Windows XP, but due to the end of LIFE of XP, he bought a new HP PC.  I had him download 64-bit Windows 8.1 for the printer on the HP site and it did not work properly.  I tried to uninstall using the uninstall on the HP support site and requiring a reboot.  We then tried to reinstall the software after the restart and he said that it was extracted files but did not say where they were extracted to.  The extract window goes away and then it's just sitting there and nothing else happened.  I also saw another method to install the printer through the computer to be scanned and then decide the best software and driver to use.  Who started working and then just sit there as well and did not finish.  I'm in and I normally don't have these types of issues, but for some reason any, that he's not well.  I also went to the Microsoft site to test hardware compatibility with Windows 8.0/8.1 and it said it was, but other people said that it is not based on their experiences.  I have tried everything I know and searched this forum and google for the answers and don't come up with anything.

    1. when the software is extraction, can you please tell me where this is extraction to (IE folder Temp, Windows, etc.)?

    2. the software and drivers are 10 22, 2012, is there new files that you can give?

3 is this fully certified by HP printer to run on Windows 8.0/8.1?

    4. is there anything else I can try?  I think I saw a troubleshooting step when you install from the CD and then download the updated Support files or windows.  I don't remember what OS files were on the CD.  Since it is in another State, I do it via webex with him to control and do what I tell you him to do, it complicates things.

Help, please!  This is frustrating me like him.

    Thank you

    Rob

    Hello

First, enter the installation folder and delete all current software that could be partially installed.

To access the installation folder, click R on your keyboard and the Windows logo keys. the Run dialog box is displayed.

Type %temp%, and then click OK.

Open the HP installation folder that begins with the characters in 7z, if there are several just open the most recent one.

Open the Util folder, then select the CCC folder and run the Uninstall_L3.bat file.

In the listed command line click on Enter and confirm a window of dialogue for the installation of multiple, don't forget to restart the PC once you will be prompted to do so.

Proceed as follows, in my view, it should solve the problem described:

1 open the Mcafee Virus and Spyware Protection software you are interested in, click on calendar and perform analyses. Click analysis in real time, and then click stop. Never select and confirm by clicking the button turn off.
    2. open the dialog box run by clicking on the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir%, and then click OK.
    3. type hpoins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
    4. type hpwins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
    5. start the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /Unregister. in the Run dialog box and click OK.
    6. launch the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC/REGSERVER in the Run dialog box and click OK.
    7 restart your PC
    8. run the installation file and check all difference.
    9. Once you have finished, remember to open McAfee and re-enable real-time scanning.

    Kind regards

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709a series works only on some machines not shared.

In my house, I have a "central" computer that I have attached the printer HP Officejet 6500 E709a Series.  It is Windows Vista.  I have 5 other computers in the House running different versions of Windows 7 (Home Premium or Ultimate) and they connect to the server via WiFi.

The server can print pages to test very well.  Three of the five connect and print correctly.  But the other two - which, of course, are the two who absolutely * must * be able to print - unable to connect.  Different Assistants say they connect, but when I try to print a Test Page, it fails.

I think it has something to do with the printer drivers installed on the network computers, but I can't find a way to remove these drivers, and then try again.  So, when I remove the printing device, and then add the computer just re-active again, the old drivers after.

How can I remove the drivers for a fresh install (theoretically)?

Don't forget... the printer works fine on the computer, to which it is attached.  Tellling so get the installation disc, etc., is the opposite of the useful.

    Thank you

    -Damian

Thanks for the reply.  It really helped, but it was nice to have an answer.  =*)

    What I finally was this:

1: I opened the Panel and went to printers.

2: I removed the printer I tried to install.

3: I clicked once on another printer.

4: at the top, near the menu bar are a few other links.  I clicked on the print server properties

5: a new window will appear.  I click on the tab drivers.

6: here, I deleted the drivers of the old printer and the drivers for the new printer I tried to install.

7: some of them wouldn't uninstall.  So I shrugged my shoulders and who agreed.

8: I saved the changes, and then completely shut down my computer.

9: I turned on my computer.

10: I went to this area and checked again.  I tried again to remove the things that he wouldn't let me delete before.  A couple of times it worked.  (If so, I did the closing down / restart the process again).

11: now, I went back to the Panel and printers.

12: I clicked on the button Add a new printer.

    13: I followed the steps.

14: this time, the correct drivers installed and the thing that worked!

I hope that would help others who get stuck.

    Hi all

I have a HP Officejet 6500 E709a. My computer is running the operating system Windows 10 Pro x 64, and I have the latest software/drivers installed as downloaded from the HP website. When trying to browse the HP Solution Center, I click on the button "scan"document"which is in the software. After clicking, a small box appears which says "HP Scanning", but it is only about 2 seconds before closing, after which nothing ever happens. She is supposed to appear a settings window which allows me to set my scan and scan settings, but as I said, this never happens.

Thank you all in advance for any help.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709a series will scan but will not print

I got a HP Officejet 6500 E709a Series for about 4 years now.  After a few months, it seems "loose" the ability to print.  It can scan via the USB of my laptop Toshiba, but won't print documents.  I had it works but has recently done a Windows Update (Win 7) and on the side of the printer to stopped again.  I tried all the options troubleshooting including uninstall of the printer and allowing windows to find and automatically install it but no good.  Then, I made an update of the driver printer full of windows and tried with the latest dirvers HP Officejet 6500 E709a Series, but still not good.  The printer is connected directly to the laptop - without hubs etc. What can I do now?

Finally got the problem solved thanks to printing HP and doctor Scan to http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03275041. Well worth a visit!
