using 2 cryptographic alogorthms.

Hi all

I use SHA as well as AES in my project, just now I have different global context etc. for two algorithms:

for example, functions such as:

int globalContextResult = hu_GlobalCtxCreateDefault(&this->globalCtx);

int registerResult = hu_RegisterSbg56 (this-> globalCtx);

int initResult = hu_InitSbg56 (this-> globalCtx);

are called twice for every algo.

my query is, am I supposed to create just a global context and use all functions only once?

and then independently use functions such as:

hu_SHA512Begin, hu_AESParamsCreate, hu_AESBegin etc?

Help, please!

Its called a global context, because its supposed to be global to the application, as far as I know :-)

How I implemented this was to create a singleton class that makes the initialization of the crypto library and maintains the overall framework for later use.  I also wrap most of my library calls crypto with functions of members of this class, for convenience, but always to expose this context just in case I want to use it somewhere else.

  • How to change an existing in ASDM VPN tunnel?

I currently have a VPN tunnel together upwards, but to change some of the configurations as making ikev2, replacing the SHA512 hash and change it in the DH group 14. I intend to do this in ASDM. I already created a group of tunnel ikev2 that I put the tunnel and created a Card Crypto that is configured with the right proposal ikev2 IPSec and Diffie-Hellman group. All other configurations such as the IP of Peer address and subnets configured and I'll work with the engineers at the other end of the tunnel to ensure that configurations are, I want to just make sure I'm not missing anything. Someone at - he never comes to change the configuration of an existing ASDM so tunnel, and it worked correctly? Here are the steps that I have will be taken as well as those I've already mentioned:

-Edit the connection profile so that the name of group policy use the correct tunnel that was created for ikev2

-Enter the pre-shared key local and remote pre-shared key ikev2 tab

-Change the IKE Policy so that it uses the ikev2 policy that was created to use SHA512

-Modify the IPSEC proposal so that it uses AES256-SHA512

-THE CRYPTO MAP IS ALREADY CREATED

-Change the secret of transfer perfect in group 14

    Hello

Let me go through your questions to clarify this double:

    1. If I have a Crypto map applied to my external interface with a proposal of IPSec of ikev1 can I just add a proposal ikev2 in this Crypto map as well?

If you have a card encryption applied to different peers outside and 3 with different order number, you will need to replace the proposal for the peer using IKEv2: IKEv2 IKEv1, the others must continue to use their IKEv1 IPSec proposal.

    2. so can I add an ikev2 with AES256 SHA512 hash proposal to my 123.123.123.456 tunnel group and continue to have all three tunnel groups always pass traffic? What happens if I add the proposal ikev2, but REMOVE the ikev1 this group of tunnel proposal because I don't want this group of tunnel use one other than AES256-SHA512 hash?

    123.123.123.456 - ikev2 - AES256-SHA512

I would like to expand this a little more, if her counterpart 123.123.123.456, must use IKEv2, you need to declare the IKEv2 in the tunnel group and add the relevant "Local and remote PSK"--> is for phase 1, and this means that it will use the IKEv2 defined policy before, and IPSec IKEv2 proposal is on phase 2, where the encryption card is you will need to replace the IKEv1 and use IPSec IKEv2 proposal. That way it will use for the phase 1 of the policy of IKEv2, that you set and defined transformation IKEv2, by making this change make sure that both sides are mirrored with IKEv2 and IPSec policy projects, as well as the tunnel will remain and will come with the new proposals.

This custom affect no matter what another tunnel, as long as you change the settings to the correct tunnel group and do not delete all the proposals, simply remove the profile connection, those employees.

    3. you know what I mean? All groups of three tunnels on that off interface use different cryptographic cards, with only two of the three using ikev1 as a proposal of IPSec. Which will work?

You can only have one card encryption applied by interface, and 3 tunnels using different sequence number with the same crypto map name, you cannot 2 tunnels on the same card encryption using IKEV1, and always in the same encryption card have the third tunnel using IKEv2 (different transformation defined using IKEv2). This custom cause no problem.

    4. what Group Policy DfltGrpPolicy? Currently use all my groups of tunnel, but it is configured for ikev1. I'm not really sure what role is in everything it can so I simply add ikev2?

Default group policy is added by default to all your groups of tunnel (connection profile), whenever create you one default group policy is inherited him by default, you can change to group policy that you can create, group policy is a set of attributes that will be used to define something or limit , for example, for a site, you can configure a VPN filter (filters the traffic that goes through the tunnel), now back to your topic, you define the protocols that will be negotiated as for an L2L IKEv1 or IKEv2, Anyconnect SSL or IKEv2, on default group policy, and so on, it is therefore important that you add the IKEv2 , so trading will be permitted, or both to create a new group policy and add the IKEv2 Protocol; and in the tunnel group, add the group policy relevant, that you just created.

I hope that this is precisely, keep me posted!

Please go to the note, and mark it as correct this post and the previous that it helped you!

  • Router IOS Cisco Anyconnect ASA configuration

    Hello

Could someone give me some advice if I can use a Cisco 1812 to connect to a Cisco ASA5512X using Anyconnect. The question we have is that some remote offices may be given fixed IP addresses...

    Thank you.

AnyConnect cannot be used because there is only one solution-client-software and non-integrated IOS as the EzVPN client.

You can use dynamic cryptographic cards already offered on the ASA with a card standard encryption on the router, or you configure remote EzVPN on the router and on the SAA EzVPN server:

  • Encrypted voice over RTMFP

    Hello

I'm the voice messanger encrypted coding. I heard, that its flow in NetStream is encrypted by the symmetric key algorithm. Is this true? If this is the case, where it is generated? Is the exchange of keys between peers based on smth like SSL (secure public key algorithm Protocol)? I want to make sure that no one can access this symmetric key. I would appreciate detailed information about encryption of transmission (graphics, technical references) because I am preparing studies on this subject. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is the information that we / i have disclosed in the past. I'm not able at the moment to share more.

all packets are encrypted with AES-128-CBC.

AES encryption keys are derived using Diffie-Hellman with a main module of 1024-bit (RFC 2409 MODP Group 2) end-to-end.

all certificates of client Flash RTMFP include their public key DH used in the agreement of key-to-end.  the "peer ID" (NetConnection.nearID) is the SHA-256 of the certificate hash.  private/public Diffie-Hellman key is chosen at random for each new NetConnection using cryptographic Pseudo-aleatoire number source of the platform (for example/dev/urandom).

This construction makes customer Flash ID approved tamperproof.  only one NetConnection in a client Flash operation can normally never have an identifier given by the peers.  It is only possible to have a network successful connection between two peers of customer if these peers have the private keys associated with their public keys.  an attacker masquerading as other peer can copy the certificate but not the private key, so the network connection will cannot succeed (since the attacker can not calculate the shared secret Diffie-Hellman that goes with the connection between the peer two IDs and therefore cannot calculate session AES keys, waiting for the other end).

the nearNonce and the farNonce are also derived from the Diffie-Hellman shared secret and is known only for the two endpoints.  they are secret and impossible to forge.  they can be used as cryptographic challenges in the handshakes of application layer.

  • Sending xml encrypted button by email?

    Hello

Is it possible to encrypt the XML sent by the button "send e-mail"? Someone has ideas how to protect unwanted reading data when multiple users use the same mailbox?

    There are several options.

    (1) If you have access to a digital signature, a self-signed digital certificate, you can digitally sign data. The button send the e-mail, click on the sign of submission and select sign only the data tab data to sign.

    (2) If you have access to a digital signature, use the cryptographic library of JavaScript. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en/JavaScript_crypto.

    (3) use an implementation of JavaScript to a message based on the hash like MD5 or SHA-1 authentication code. For example, see http://jssha.sourceforge.net/.

  • Significant decline in performance on the GRE tunnel after using cryptographic protection

    Hi all

I have two G1 RSR (1811 and 1812) who have a GRE tunnel between them.

Without any encryption protection I received about 3.6 MB/s in regular transfers of Windows SMB. After using cryptographic protection of the tunnel I'm now only 2.7 MB/s transfers of same.

No idea as to why this is?

    My conclusions:
According to this http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/downloads/765/tools/quickreference/vpn... the AES crypto fixed return of the 1800s is 40 MB/s.
The increase in overhead of cryptographic protection shouldn't be the problem I tried to test the transfers on the tunnel without protection and 'ip tcp adjust-mss 800' of the tunnel. There was only a small performance drop here, not as much as with the crypto.
I tried several sets of cryptographic transformation, they all give the same performance as long as they are made in the material.
ISAKMP is always done in the software? I can't get it to show its is done at the hardware level, regardless of isakmp policy.

I think that this performance is what you should get with the legacy 18xx SRI G1. But the performance degradation is perhaps really a little too high.

For ISAKMP, there is no problem with that. The amount of protected data is too small to have one any influence.

As a first test, I would remove the GRE encapsulation by setting "mode ipsec ipv4 tunnel" on the tunnel interface and compare if the results improve.

  • whenever I try to certify a document using my E-token brazilin, it appers: the windows cryptographic service provider reported an error. Code: 2148073510. Someone knows how to fix this?

I would be grateful if someone could help me. Every time I try to certify a document using my E-token brazilin, it appears: the windows cryptographic service provider reported an error. Code: 2148073510. Someone knows how to fix this?

Problem of this sort occurs generally when the driver that supports your token is not fully compliant with all standards. Some signature applications are mild for some of the discrepancy and you can still use your signature token in these applications. Acrobat is more strict about this.

Without actually having your token, it is difficult to continue the investigation.

  • The ASA can use 2 dynamic cryptographic cards on the external interface?

We have an ASA which is currently used with dynamic VPN. I don't know the pre-shared key.  If I was going to try to create another card encryption. I did not want to bring another drop.  I know that the router does not allow.  It would replace the existing info.  I wasn't sure of the SAA.

    David,

The pre shared key is defined in the specific tunnel-group, not in the crypto map.

    tunnel-group ipsec-attributes

    pre-shared key cisco

    However, by default:

Dynamics of LAN-to-LAN tunnels using the 'DefaultL2LGroup '.

L2TP/IPsec connections use the 'DefaultRAGroup '.

In order to see the pre shared key in clear text: "more system: run".

You can have a single card dynamic encryption card crypto, but you can have multiple entries / map instances of this dynamic, for example:

    Crypto-map dynamic dynamic_map 10 the value transform-set ESP-AES-256-SHA

    Crypto-map dynamic dynamic_map 20 the value transform-set ESP-AES-192-SHA

    map outside_map 65535-isakmp ipsec crypto dynamic dynamic_map

    Hello

I recently bought Halo 2 for WIndows Vista and tried to run it on my pc, which uses windows 7 Home premium. Since I installed the game, whenever I play it stops, saying that "Games for Windows Live could not... etc" I looked up the solution on a microsoft forum, and he said to rename the folder c:\windows\system32\catroot 2 by stopping the cryptographic service. ""

Whenever I try to stop the cryptographic service, I get:

    System error 5: access denied

I tried running the cmd as administrator prompt, and I get the message: "the application pause, continue or stop is not available for this service"

I can also rename the Catroot2 folder, as he always says: ' this folder could not be renamed because it is already in use... etc ", but I think it's because I have not stopped the cryptographic service".

    Thank God!

Finally, I worked it out myself. But it's painful to watch than virtually any other that Uday has responded to my problem. Something I've been waiting for so eagerly.

I applied my common sense and defragmented the dirives then sfc/scannow, and it worked. Cryptographic Services said when I began to log in as network account. So my problem is solved. Now, windows update works fine.

Interestingly, Microsoft Fix it, says it cannot start the Cryptographic Services. Are God, while the _____ you supposed to difficulty? It made Internet Explorer icon on my desktop and other places.

  • Cannot use the magnifying glass

I have a HP Pavilion magnesium grey Edition p6740f PC. When I try to use the magnifying glass, I get a reference was returned by the server with C:\Windows\system32\magnify.exe. On the system restore, I get error 0x8000ffff.

    Hello

    Here's something to check.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.

In the run box, type services.msc and press ENTER.

Scroll to the Cryptographic Services and make sure that it is to show that the status: started and the Startup Type: automatic.

If you need to make a change, just right-click cryptographic services and select Properties, then in the box next to "Startup Type" drop-down list, select automatic and click on apply to save the changes.  Then click on the Start button.

    Kind regards

  • Can I disable the Terminal Services if I don't use remote assistance/remote desktop?

I use can I have Vista 32 bit home premium

I thought that Vista have no remote desktop? Is not Terminal identical remote desktop services?

    When I go

MyComputer > right click > properties > remote adjustment

the box for "Allow remote Assisnatnce" is NOT COCHEE

But when I run Netstat - ano, I see that port 3389 is listening svchost.exe process when I checal what services are related to this particular svchost.exe, I see the following services:

    Cryptographic services
    DNS client
    network location awareness
    KtmRm for distributed transaction coordination
    telephony

    and Terminal Server services

Seems to be at a point several years ago, I allowed someone from microsoft to help me through the assistance at a distance could therefore have enabled or downloaded services Terminal Server?

In any case, I think that Terminal Services is initially port 3389 to remain open and thus get an unsolicited connection attempts from different IP addresses.

I tried a little experiment and finished the Terminal Services and changed the status of manual start-up. When I still ran netstat - ano, he showed no listening on port 3389

However, when I rebooted my computer Terminal Server was running again. So I ended it again but this time off the service. When I fell net stat - ano he showed terminal services does not. then when I restarted my computer, Terminal Server services do not have turn on port 3389 has not been shown that listening

SO my question is, as a user of Vista which doesn't use remote help desk or remotely.

    1. I CAN keep the disabled Services Terminal Server?

    2. it cause me any problem of operation or security if she stays in the disabled state?

3 have disabled will cause me to not be able to get the scheduled updates?

    Thank you

But I have been informed by Norton Personal asa require a Terminal Server Services be, nit for the part of remote assistance, but for other reasons. They say I can't turn off

    Hello

I have problems to bind the cryptographic library in a project of Cascades. The documentation says "you must link libhuapi.so.5 when you compile your application. But everything I've tried so far has not worked.

Could someone explain how to link this library in a casacade project?

    Thank you in advance,

See the example here: https://github.com/blackberry/Cascades-Community-Samples/tree/master/PasswordSample and including the PasswordSample.pro file.

  • 2 cryptographic cards on the same interface

Is it possible to apply two crypto is the interface even in a router? I have two cryptographic cards because I need to use two different authentication methods according to the VPN client that will connect.

No, you can have a single encryption per interface card.
