Using Bitlocker with Flash Drive

Two flashdrives have been encrypted by bitlocker. When I mount the two flashdrives, in windows Explorer, each of them appear with a lock or (drive F and G drive). When I unlock the two discs (by entering the password) a grey lock appears on drive F (as it should), but no lock appears on the G drive. Also, after you have unlocked, I am able to view the content encrypted in the two discs without difficulty. When I right click on the 'F', the menu that appears includes a choice of "manage bitlocker. When I right click on the disk 'G', the menu does not include the "manage bitlocker. When I eject the F drive by right clicking and pressing the "eject" drive F goes away from the screen to the windows Explorer (as it should). When I eject the G drive by right clicking and pressing 'eject', don't disappear from windows Explorer screen, it seems to be stuck.

The 'F' flash player seems to behave correctly, but it seems that the 'G' flash drive is not fully recognised by the bitlocker. What is the problem with the drive flash "G"?

Hello Ted,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

Thank you to provide detailed information on the issue.

Sometimes, if Bitlocker Drive encryption does not complete successfully, this problem may occur.

I suggest you even encrypt the affected drive with Bitlocker and check if it helps.

Please use the suggestions provided in this article and the Coachman.

  • Split 13 x 2 PCs 13-m110dx: cannot perform the system recovery using a USB flash drive

I just bought a Split 13 x 2 13-m110dx PC that came with Windows 8. I have upgraded the OS to 8.1 and made a copy of the recovery Partition using a USB flash drive, and deleted the recovery of the PC disk that I learned that I could do. However, when I tried to retrieve OEM provided using the USB flash drive by following the directions at creation and use of a recovery of Microsoft USB drive (Windows 8) "System Recovery" was not available to the title of "troubleshooting." I tried to tell it to boot from the USB, but it askes me to insert the support of windows or other media, but rejects the flash player. What do I do now because I have not all discs?

To use the Flash created to restore the system to the factory settings, see "Recovering from a USB flash drive" appearing in the following link:

  • Can I use a USB Flash drive?

    Windows XP Professional - SP3 - Version 2002

Can I use a USB Flash drive to increase memory? My machine has 512 MB of RAM, and I have a 1.80 GHz CPU Celeron (r) processor.
From what I've researched, because my OS is Windows XP and I have 512 MB of RAM, I cannot use a 4 GB Flash drive.
I use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and lots of sample packs and I have need of more memory. My machine is maxed out at 512 MB of RAM.
If I buy a 4 GB Flash drive, can I load my DAW on the Flash drive and optimal storage space or should I buy a hard drive to accomplish my problem of not having enough memory?

    Thanks in advance!

512 MB you should be fine for Windows XP. OK, the application may run more slowly than on a modern computer - but performance is reasonable.

Like me, I have a computer with 1 linear array of 512 MB memory and a 128 MB memory chips - making the total up to almost 640MO - but I use Photoshop CS3 on it daily and it works fine for most tasks.

However, if you want to get some further improvements to your computer for the RAM intensive applications performance, I would recommend increasing the virtual memory.

    More about memory virtual here-

    http://ask-Leo.com/what_is_virtual_memory.html

    To increase the virtual memory-

Do a right click my computer > click Properties > Advanced tab > settings under 'Performance' button > Advanced tab in the performance Options window > change button under "virtual memory".

Now select the custom size option.

The options below, you can see some details like -

    Minimum allowed - XX MB

    Recommended - XXXX MB

    Currently allocated - XXXX MB

Make sure that you set the value of initial size (MB) near the recommended space. The value of maximum size to a value much greater than currently allocated space. (But always value less than 2048 maximum size - you don't need that much).

That could give some amount of performance increase - but he won't give you a magical boost of performance.

  • Panda Antivirus and disable the AutoRun not that interfere with Flash Drive Back Up schedule?

    Greetings,

I understand that Panda Antivirus has a feature enabled by default, which disables the Autorun feature in Windows.  My question is, if someone has Panda anti-virus, Autorun is disabled by default, which will interfere with scheduled weekly or daily tasks associated with the back to the top of the files on the flash drive?  What about using vaccintation for the Panda AV drive?  This has been show to have an effect on the Flash drive backup schedules?

    Kind regards

Not a Windows issue. You should check the FAQ of Panda.

  • Use of the flash drive on a X 200

I just got my new X 200 and I did not plant still recovery disks. I guess that thay have to go on CD/DVD players due to the boot record having to read from the first disc.

I would like to use a flash drive to 32 GB for a full system image backup, followed by the incremental backups.  Is this possible?

I waited a long time for an answer... nothing coming, so I went to another forum where such issues of users actually get responses.

    For those interested...

The enthusiastic response of the users who have used flash drives for storing important data, should absolutely NOT use flash for this purpose.  The recommendation was to use CD/DVD only.

Users tell me that's not for technical reasons that I shouldn't put backups on flash drives. This is because flash drives are notoriously little reliable. Some brands have done well and then badly in the months following incandescent customers.

Many users now have USB hard drives and they recommend this approach to those of us who want immediate access to the operating system and business or personal data if a catastrophic failure occurs.  I'm opting for this approach with a factory version DVD copy.

It seems that flash drives are better for personal data which can be reincorporated easily or for the convenience of mobility data.

    I hope this helps.

  • Using a USB flash drive for backup more driver and application backup recovery

I have a 32 GB flash drive I used to create a recovery for my Aspire S7 backup using Windows 8.1. I understand that in creating this backup everything on the flash drive is deleted before creating backup. Can I now use this drive for other purposes, e.g., pilots and backup applications, pictures, documents, etc., or this flash drive now should he remain dedicated to the sole purpose of being a backup recovery?

    Hi zimmerbob

I keep as a backup to dedicated recovery flash drive and use one for drivers & applications.

It is always wise to keep the recovery discs, as well as the recovery disks. Flash memory is quite inexpensive for the moment!

  • Reinstall Windows 7 using a USB Flash drive and an ISO image

My laptop is not an optical disc drive in order to reinstall Windows, I had to rely on the USB that I have. I downloaded an ISO image of the operating system on the Microsoft site and created a bootable USB stick using the xcopy command in command prompt. When I restarted the system and chose the USB as a boot device, nothing happened for half an hour. Then I had to reboot the PC somehow and it booted normally. Since he did not work once again, I downloaded the Windows 7 USB DVD download tool. But even the tool cannot complete the writing process, even after several attempts. So as a last attempt, I opened the folder where I had extracted all the files and ran StartCD.exe but it terminated immediately by posting "too big for memory. (BTW, I use a 8 GB flash drive) What should I do to fix this?

    Use Rufus:

The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the GPT partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list
    • Click Start
    • Close when you are finished

    1. create a new directory and a new fla and save the FLA to the new directory

    2. Add this path to the source of the FLA

    3. Add the following code in the Panel actions and test

    Import away3d.containers.View3D;

    var _view:View3D = new View3D();

    Hello

Your unit preloaded with Toshiba created recovery DVD? You have the same problem with the SD card?

In users manual y did he write: you can't use CF that do not confirm to the specifications of the Association of the CF.

  • PC freeze using the new Flash drive and Youtube/Vimeo

Recently, I upgraded my drive flash to the latest version.  No problem with Youtube before, but now there is a major conflict.   Whenever I try to upload a video to youtube, my computer crashes.  I have about 10 seconds or so where I can move the mouse cursor, but no entry is available.  And then my monitor goes into mode "sleep" because she thinks that my PC is in "sleep".  Fans of PC are still underway, but no entry is accepted.  The only solution is to reboot, and then then next time it happen.

The problem is not Youtube because I have the same problem on Vimeo.  And it's not firefox, I have the same problem on IE.  And Firefox is fully updated.

I tried the usual uninstall and reinstall Flash and it did not help.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Two things you can try

    • update the device drivers for your video card
    • disable hardware acceleration (Flash Player settings)
