Using photos screen saver does not work but work other screensavers

Hi there - we use Vista for some time, we have been able to use the photo screen saver option and it worked very well.  All of a sudden it has stopped working and we now get only a blank screen.  All the other screen savers simply do not work the photo option.  When we choose the picture option on what we can see the slideshow of pictures in the display of small images tab screen saver under "Screen saver settings", but when you click "Preview" the screen just comes in white, and if we allow for the screen saver turns on automatically it is always white.

Yes, we have a wireless keyboard/mouse, but the screen saver picture worked very well with them before, so we don't think it's having wireless devices?  Any help out there?

Cheers, Nuttymusher

Hello SuzyQarama,

Thank you for posting.  As everything worked correctly until you have changed monitors, it seems you are having compatibility problems with your new monitor and your video card.  You will need to install the drivers for your new monitor and possibly for your both video card.  This will allow the video card and monitor to work better together.  This should force the video card to not show the resolutions that the monitor cannot handle.  Once you have performed these steps, you must then select the native resolution for your new monitor section personalize.

Please let me know if this helps you. Zack

screen saver does not work when magic jack is pluged in. unplug taking magic, the screensaver works properly.

09/05/10 the MagicJack has released an update that prevents the screen saver and "standby" mode. They are aware that people are upset on this issue, but they seem not to care.

Here is a simple solution to the problem. I've used it since 10/09/10 and it works perfectly.

Restore the functionality of screen saver / display after MagicJack diverted these features...

Click on the Start button in Windows 7

type cmd in the search box

Right click on cmd and run as administrator if you are not running as an administrator it will not work!

type: powercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS magicJack.exe DISPLAY

Make sure that you type the capitol letters and lowercase no look of magic make 'J' ack it's capitol as well!

    Press enter

    Now unplug your magicjack

Restart your computer and let the unplugged MagicJack

Once the computer starts together your screensaver for a minute then let it sit for a minute activate screen saver...

Now plug your magic let sit for one minute Alto screen saver is now active!

If you want to activate the sleep as well, follow the same instructions as above, but simply type this line instead.

type: powercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS magicJack.exe DISPLAY SYSTEM

If you follow these instructions, your sleep/screen mode will work as before.

    Hi garybuyit,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft answers Forums.

Just so I'm clear, updated you the graphics cards in Device Manager? You have access to a Windows XP installation disc. If so, follow the steps in this document to make a scan of the SFC. This analysis will attempt to repair or replace any missing or corrupted system files.

  • Portege M400: screen saver does not work

    Hi all

like many of you, I think, I need the screen saver protected by start-up automatically when I let my M400 unattended for some time.
Everything works fine if the bluetooth is introduced to the wide. Otherwise... the screen saver does not start automatically.

Site Microsoft learns something about the problems related to (Microsoft mouse) wireless devices that do not allow the screen saver appears.
The proposed solution is to kill a process called PCMsomething, or download an update windows named KBsomething and install it.

I actually a bluetooth wireless (non-Microsoft) combined with my PC mouse, but no PCMsomething process is executed and, although my mouse is turned off, the screen saver organizers can't work until I turned off the bluetooth of the M400 too. In addition, windows update does not suggest a KBsomething patch to install (maybe because my mouse is not a Microsoft one?).

Any idea to solve my problem?
    Thanks in advance.

For this application, Toshiba has designed the FN + F1 feature to lock your laptop.

It is a lot easier than this solution with screen saver.

  • My screen saver does not work and it's turnd.

That check for screen saver does not

    Hi k4trm,

    1. what happens when you set a screen saver? What screensaver you have defined on the computer?

    2. you receive an error message?

    3. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the screen saver does not to work.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails then I would suggest that you update the driver for graphics card on the computer visiting the site of graphics card manufacturer.

  • Screen saver does not work in the new update of El Capitan

Comes through the new update to El Capitan (10.11.2) and now the screensaver will not automatically start using one of the hot corners.  I checked the preferences and assigned for each of the 4 corners screen saver and it does not work.  What is going on?

Remove the screen saver preferences file. com Apple.Screensaver.com

This file is located in the Preferences of your user library folder.

In the Finder, select go from the menu bar, press the option/alt key and library should appear in the drop-down list.

Click to open it in the Finder, go to Preferences, then move the screensaver in the trash preferences file. don't delete yet.

Restart the mac. Enter the preferences you want to screen saver in system preferences.

    I hope it should work.

  • Screen saver does not work Windows 7

A minor annoyance, but still... Screensaver on clean installs of Windows 7 Beta and RC 7 fail to activate. None of the Windows screen savers will not work.

I found this work BACK-code around on the "unofficial MagicJack Forum.  It really works better than anything I've seen, because it actually replace orders that magicJack uses to disable management screen saver and power.  It gives you a feature complete and normal of two things back.  In addition, the patch will stick, even after a reboot.  Just be sure to use the first set of controls to find the correct path for your machine. The differences are indicated by points of question marks (?). Then run the second set of commands by using this path.

This was posted by "Satoru," who got the information initially to dslreports.com:

The following command displays THAT MJ has a request to prevent the system of visualization and energy savings. If you get an error, you must run as administrator command prompt:

    Code:
    C:\>Powercfg /requests
    DISPLAY:
    [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume? \Users\? \AppData\Roaming\mjusbsp\magicJack.exe

    SYSTEM:
    [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume? \Users\? \AppData\Roaming\mjusbsp\magicJack.exe

    AWAYMODE:
    None.

The following commands replace (turn off) the power request:

    Code:

    powercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS magicJack.exe DISPLAY
    powercfg PROCESS \Device\HarddiskVolume? \Users\? \AppData\Roaming\mjusbsp\magicJack.exe DISPLAY /requestsoverride

View a single order has the full path, as it appears in the output of queries. Be sure to use the path of your output of queries. You need both, or energy conservation will not work.

This patch will survive it recharges. You can check by running the command before and after a reboot

    Code:

    powercfg /requestsoverride

  • My pc won't standby and the screen saver does not work. Any help?

    Hello

Functions of the screen saver and sleep depend on the computer to detect an idle state. An idle state is reached when the computer detects no activity on the system. Once reached the idle state, it must maintain a State of rest for the period that you define in the element.

If you have any device connected to the system that periodically checks for a specific action, this device can cause the system to achieve or maintain an idle state.

Some devices, such as a device of VOIP phone that checks for incoming phone calls is an example. If you have a MagicJack or any other similar device, try to remove them and check if this solves the problem.

Another culprit is an e-mail or instant messaging program that periodically checks for new messages.

    Hello

I have an old 496 A100 and after the adventures with virus, I used a backup for windows vista 32-bit and just reinstalled drive.

Now, however, the visuals are funny.
On the whole it works, but what I see on the screen doesn't look quite right and some things do not work; as the flow of cover albums of itunes music or the screen saver (it indicates a need a video card more up-to-date, which is strange, because it worked before when I was with Windows xp.)

Does anyone know how to fix this?
