Using the profile of windows7 on Ubuntu12.04

I try to use my firefox on Windows7 in Ubuntu12.04 profile (installed with Wubi). I created a new profile and pointed at the correct profile folder, but I get the message:

Firefox is unable to use the profile because it is in use.

I tried to change only files containing passwords and cookies. No change. the old profile in Ubuntu works very well. Also checked the profiles.ini. Also tried it on Ubuntu in VirtualBox.

Thank you.

It is preferable not to use the same profile with different operating systems, because the paths of files that are used in some files are not compatible.

Also, Ubuntu might not able to lock the profile correctly (Windows and Linux use a different method and files).

The current versions of Firefox is no longer delete the lock file to make it possible detect start failures by looking at the timestamp.

You can try using the links hard or soft links to specific files (sqlite databases and a few other folders).

See these pages for a description of the files.

I've recently upgraded to version 40 39.0.3. The first upgrade was not so I removed FF using the control panel (uninstall program). I reinstalled again, but I got the messages that FF was already running, etc. as other users have noticed. I open profiles (Open firefox.exe - p) and tried to open FF with the "default" profile that did not work. I created a new profile ("defaultuser") and FF open. (I have the box checked to use the new profile on startup). I have created FF as I wanted it, and then exit. When I started later FF, the profile is not found. The profile did not have the "defaultuser" profile, does not open with the "default" profile, but would a new profile must be created and FF to open and run. Quit FF and reopen produces the same sequence (profile not found, etc.) I uninstalled 40 and reinstalled version 39.0.3 and I have the same problems with this version (39.0.3), plus he's starting the upgrade to version 40, and soon as I complete the installation again. I uninstalled the 39.0.3/40 version and reinstalled 40 using the Profiles page to write this question.

I removed the version FF 40 using the Panel of control/uninstall. I deleted all the files that have been "* firefox *" and "* mozilla * ' (and there are some). I rebooted, and then reinstalled FF version 39.0.3. I could we FF immediately (without having to create a new profile). I have not had any problems with a bad certificate of Google, Yahoo, etc.. I went to all the web sites open very well. I could restart, then restart FF several times without problems or issues of certificate. Meanwhile, I made no changes to Kaspersky, and as far as I know, Kaspersky works as he usually does. I am almost sure that FF 40 version has a certificate problem that I can't fix. I'm less sure if the original upgrade to version FF 39.0.3 to 40.0.0 (then 40.0.2) played a role in my profile questions. Regardless, I have a version of FF that works and auto-updated to FF is off (and it will remain like that until I gather a few of this blog and other insurance which emits 40 FF are ironed out). I appreciate the help that you (and jscher200 in another thread) has attempted to provide. While the issues are not fixed, the thread can be closed.

  • Payroll ID must be passed automatically using the profile Options.

    Dear all,

    Please suggest for power condition.

I've created a new report of employee details where I need to go from the Payroll_ID per_all_assignments_f table.

We have more 7 payroll in our facility. These wages are set using per_security_profile_id possibility of responsibilities.

Thus, users attached to specific responsibilities should consider only their payroll in the payroll_id of the report parameter.

Case 1. How can I pass Payroll_ID parameter using the profile option.

Case 2. Security > Security profile > profile of payroll, Security tab, if you click on the check box "Show all wage masses" for security, how to pass all payroll_ids.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Afzal.

    Hi amal.

You should check the Pay_Payrolls_F view and not the table (PAY_ALL_PAYROLLS_F)

If you are checked from the backend, that define the correct responsibility (via fnd_global.apps_initialise) before trying the query.

    See you soon,.

  • Is it possible to create a Local administrator user when you use the Profile Manager to get the configuration settings

    Hello

We are studying the use of the Profile Manager of OS X as a way to manage our Enterprise macs.

One of the demands made by the team, is to create an administrator user, as part of the OS X Profile which is lowered to the customer. The rationale is that this would be a way for the it team get, if the fubar user had their Mac

I did not see this anywhere in the configuration options of the Profile Manager and so ask the people who use it as part of their everyday Toolbox, to find out if such an option is available.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Madan failed

No, not with the Profile Manager.

How you deploying your company Mac?  As institutionally imagery or as BYOD devices?  If image, then the image should contain a coherent local administrator account.  If the active image also the Apple Remote Desktop or SSH, you have a method of mass, control and manage the devices.  If BYOD style, then you are out of luck that the end user is the only one with the key of the device.

You can take a look at following JAMF Casper.  Once devices are registered, you have the possibility to create accounts (However the common method is to create an account on registration).  If you deploy a BYOD approach, you should also look into DEP program Apple (https://deploy.apple.com) as more DEP JAMF (or other MDM) is a very powerful tool for light to zero touch deployment of systems.

  • Using the profile of Dry Creek

    Adobe Photoshop 2015.5.1

    Windows Pro 64-bit 10

I installed the Profile ICC Costco Dry Creek for my Costco photo Center.

In Photoshop, I change my picture by using the view | Proof of installation | Costco-CA-MountainView-Gls

The color profile is Adobe RGB (1988).

The Fuji Frontier 590 printer does not resemble the profile assigned to the final JPG format.

Therefore, I create a copy of my PSD file.

With the copy, I use Edit | Assign the profile to assign it to the "Costco-CA-MountainView-Gls" profile

I then save to a JPG file.

It seems inefficient to have to make a copy of the PSD.

    Photoshop has a

File | Export | Export as

but it does not allow to set the profile to "Costco-CA-MountainView-Gls.

In addition, save slot for a JPG will not let you choose 'Costco-CA-MountainView-Gl.

One wonders why this is not a feature.

Using Edit | Assign profile changes Adobe RGB data (1988) to "Costco-CA-MountainView-Gl" that does not sound like a good idea. I want to only change the data when I pulled out as a JPG.

Is there a way to avoid having to make a copy of the PSD?

    Thanks in advance for comments.

You want to convert, not yield.

And since you don't want to modify your original image data, you naturally make a copy. Save under and then close the original without saving any changes. The copy of "save under" you did is the one you send.

I looked at the instructions dry creeks, and they are detailed, sensitive and easy to follow.

  • I need help to create profiles of Firefox directly from the command line (script) without having to use the Profile Manager window step by step

  • Can I change the drive and directory that uses default profiles 3.6?

My C:\ drive is getting overloaded. Can I switch my Firefox 3.6 default profile to another drive and directory? If so, I guess that profile management and Backing Up Your Info sections apply.

You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile on the other disk (choose location).

Be sure to specify a new, empty folder for the profile.

  • Windows: Photoshop by using the incorrect monitor with two monitors profile

I have connected 2 very different monitors to my PC.
Both have been calibrated and I assigned the correct profiles for both monitors in the color management Panel.
I use Photoshop on monitor number 2 (the splash screen also appears when I start the program) but when I check that my color settings in Photoshop and click the dropdown menu, RGB workspace he mentions "Monitor RGB - [name of the profile number monitor 1] .icm" as my monitor RGB profile.
This is clearly the wrong profile since it must list the description regarding the number of Monitor 2.
Is there a way you can change it manually? Looks Photoshop always uses the profile to monitor number 1 any screen, you use for Photoshop.

As far as I know, it's normal. Registration is always your main screen, as set out in the operating system.

The question is - Photoshop uses the wrong profile for each display? Regardlass of registration, he must use the profile for display on each window of the image is. IOW, you can have windows image on both screens, and they all use the relevant profile.

You can test it by dragging it. When you cross the midline PS should change your profile when drop you and release the mouse.

But yes, it makes sense that Monitor RGB must be the view that contains the context of the application. I use monoecrans on my two systems, so I can't test this.

  • Can W7 \64 bit\FF42.0\How I move the profiles?

Everything seems to work perfectly. But I realized that I should be able to find how to move my profile to another drive on my computer somewhere in the profile itself. I've looked everywhere I can think of and can't find this info. If you can tell me where it is, maybe I can manage. But if not, can you tell me how to move the profiles? My os is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I am running Firefox 42.0. Your guesses are all correct, except that I'm not sure about the plugin from Adobe. Thanks for any help.

You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile on a different hard drive folder by clicking on the button "choose a folder.
Be sure to select a new empty file and not a folder that already contains files.

You can transfer files from the current profile folder to this folder.

  • I have synced the profile user, how do I turn it on?

During installation, I was prompted to import a user profile and I accidentally chose the wrong pair. I uninstalled Firefox thinking I could correct my mistake during the next installation then it will automatically use the "wrong" choice, I did the first time.
    How can I fix it?
    Thank you!

You can use the Profile Manager to select another profile if you have multiple profiles.

If you need to import data from other browsers, then you will find "Import data from another browser" in the bookmarks (library) Manager

    • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup
  • How can I transfer the profile/bookmarks between firefox 2-facilities

    HELO!

First of all, what has caused the problem:
A few days ago the partition C of the HD-Drive with Win7 OS and firefox installation crashed due to problems with the poles (according to the error messages). I tried to solve the problem with chkdsk, win-repair and standard controls, but did not work. Win7 starts before don't appear the indirect balls or sometimes until the mouse coursor on a black screen appears but stays there. Other partitions - data - work well as before. I recognized that I can get access to the operating system partition by clicking on command prompt in the repair-win7 environment. All files and folders are still there.

I installed another HD of the same type (first as a simple reader) and also installed the same operating system and the firefox browser to search for advice. After that, I put the old HD as a slave in the PC. All partitions seems ok. but one with OS Dionysius access. The diskmanagement under control of system shows no problem with any partition. All partitions are correctly identified and have a drive letter properly. Only access to the first partition contains the operating system and firefox is always denied.

WHAT I TRIED (YOU WANT TO):
I booted the system with the command prompt without booting win7 (not the Win7-command prompt in a window) and I copied the profile completely of the old installation of firefox on the old HD C: on the new HD with the creation of all records by hand and xcopy all files in all folders (E:\Users\ (username) \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx.default (xxx for the characters/name firefox createt)) to a subfolder on the new C:. Then I chose this profile using the Profile Manager for ff. The name of the profile-folder (and subfolders) were exactly picked up the old facility with all the files of the old installation on the old HD.

BUT WHEN I STARTED FF AGAIN TO AN UNFORESEEN SITUATION, PROFILE AND ESPECIALLY THE BOOKMARKS WERE SIMILAR EVEN BEFORE (A BIT OF THE NEW FACILITY INSTEAD OF THE HUNDREDS OF THE OLD PROFILE).

So I ask for advice, how can I get the old profile/bookmarks to the new system. Or perhaps - if anyone knows - how I could run the old ffox at least once more to save the bookmarks by using the bookmark backup. (I made a backup but it was too long ago, a lot of new bookmarks have been added in the last time).

I would be very grateful for any advice or information problem.

    With greetings

    System: office-PC computer (Intel 6600 Dual-Core, 2 GB Ram, 2 x Seagate Barracuda 320 GB), Win7 64 bit, firefox v37.0.1

Export and import in the same menu you did a return to the top.

  • Firefox has created a new profile on every launch, despite the change in the profile of the Manager.

I created multiple profiles in Firefox, but no matter how many tutorials, I followed online, it still does it. Also, I can not select the profiles that I created.

One possible cause is a problem with the file profiles.ini.

    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
    • Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.

You can use one of them to reuse an existing profile or create a new default profile for Firefox:

    • Remove the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
    • Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
Use "Choose a folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile
  • How can I change the order of the profiles in the Profile Manager?

I have several profiles and I know that I can use the Profile Manager to delete the profile without deleting the files, then add the profile to return, but it's somehow very awkward to change the order that they are in. Is there a faster way to change the order of the profiles?

  • force firefox to use a profile of specfic

I installed 2 profiles, 1 for work and 1 for the private home and I have this problem when clicking on links outside that for example like MS outlook applications and shortcuts firefox and the firefox profile manager appears and ask me to choose a profile to see the link in the establishment, and I cannot chose the current profile but must then selected profile job if Im use currently "private."

So my question is how can I force FF to stop asking which profile to open an external link in and to set the default profile?

First of all, to have separate desktop shortcuts for each of these profiles, to avoid having to use the Profile Manager all the time.

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Shortcut_to_a_specific_profile

2nd, external links will only open the default = 1 profile as labels in the profiles.ini file.

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/profiles.ini_file

No way around that without changing the value 'default' profile all the time.

3rd, it is possible to launch a simultaneous 2nd profile without having this 'process running' message to the -no-remote command in the target of the shortcut on the desktop, as before or after the "seized" path But that do with default profile can be unpredictable when opening an external link.

-No.-remote command that I just mentioned is not sanctioned by Mozilla for users of non-developer type, which is one of the reasons why I suggested links to a non-official knowledge base. The official 'line' - 'we do not want expose the profile at all. This is supposed to be hidden
detail of the implementation"to lead one of the Mozilla developers.

  • The Profile Manager shows that my new profile. How do my default profile?

I made a new profile to use exclusively with an alternate version of Firefox. My regular version has accidentally opened this new profile, so I tried to use the Profile Manager to set it as default. However, the Profile Manager is only show my new profile. / AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles shows that I have always my fault and my new profile. Put Pei 'default' in the line just target opens the Profile Manager. How to get back to my default profile or if it will appear in the Profile Manager?

When a profile is not displayed in the Profile Manager, then you can register for this profile using Profile Manager to create a new profile.
You can click on the button "Choose a folder" to make Firefox recognizes and uses an already existing profile.

It is best to create a shortcut on the desktop that selects a specific profile (PEI "profile_name") to avoid opening a profile with a bad version of Firefox.

Be sure to select the profile in the browser by default in the Profile Manager, for that is used when you click on a link in an external program.

You can use the - No.-remote command line switch to open another instance of Firefox with its own profile and run multiple instances of Firefox at the same time.
