Using the same disk to install on multiple computers.

Hello.

I know this question has been asked several times, but this question is more direct to me then the others I found.

I ran into the debate on a forum of unknown on multi use of the XP installation disc.

I just got a new job at the refurbishment of old computers, which is essentially just dustfilled and in rare cases have bad ram, hdd, gpu, psu or any other malfunction.

Is it against MS EULA to use a CD to install on several computers, and of course only on computers that have the official Windows key stuck on them? (in this case Win XP Home and Pro, we do not get any pc that can handle more OS then XP, and all XP get recycled accordingly to the latest laws of recycling)

Is there a key over there that I can use on computers that has no key Windows on them, which allows me to install Windows and give the person 30 to 60 days is to activate it after that that it is sold? (is it possible that the key would be activated after that that she was sold (the new owner of the PC boots), in which case I could not sell with for 30-60 days)

I have the CD original edition family and professional, but they have SP2 on them. Is there anywhere I can download the latest version of PRO and Home? or do I me Intergrate SP3 and all the extras patches myself? Is it an official MS website which can help me in creating the update installation CD (with SP3 and all recent updates)?

  • Can I use the same disk of software on several computers?

I installed Windows Vista on a second computer.  The disc was used to install on another computer.  On the second computer, from time to time, the screen becomes unstable and begins to try to post the same request twice on the screen in overlap and becomes uneven, showing part of the two, flashing and showing things on the spot.  After that, it becomes impossible to use the application without end the session, or restart the computer.  This usually occurs after the computer wakes from sleep.  He has also taken over when a box saying that the computer key is already in use.  Let me say only that a new Apple computer.  What is my problem?

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.

I have a limit of bandwidth at the office... Therefore impossible to download here. Download of coffee and who need to come back and install it on my desktop! :/

In addition, after the trial... I'll be able to download the whole CC software and install it on the desktop as well?

  • Vista to 7 using the same disc?

I have Windows 7 64 bit on my Sony Vaio laptop that I had to buy that copy on it has stopped working, a $179 I was planning on spending and my dell vostro 220 which has windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit, I was notified is no longer supported, can I use the same disks of Windows 7 to upgrade my obsolete vista which has a reaccuring virus I can't seem to get rid of. I kept the dell in good shape, maxed out the memory, added a graphics nVidia video card. I know it's up there in age but I am now disabled and simply not have extra money for a new office using the copy of Windows 7, I bought 64-bit would be really useful because I'm familiar with 7, and I really don't want the headache of 10 plus expenses. I saw all kinds of ways to burn copies of Windows 7, I don't know I have confidence in them to work. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • I installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM and the product key does not work, how to fix this? I use the same product key supplied with the computer originally.

I bought a Dell Precision T3400 of Dell Financial Services and it came with Vista Business installed.  I installed a new hard drive and installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM by using the recovery disk that came with the computer, and the product key does not work for activation.  I get a message that says I need to activate Windows, but he says that the product key is not valid.  How can I fix it?

    Thank you

If you have reinstalled the OEM of Vista Business copy on the new hard drive, as Bill says you can't also use it in a virtual machine.

You can only reuse your OEM of Vista professional copy if it is no longer used on the computer. Do you have what operating system installed on the new hard drive? It was an upgrade copy or complete the license?

If you used a license to upgrade to another edition of Windows to replace your copy of company then Vista Business license is still in use (for upgrade) and you cannot reuse it in your virtual machine.

However if you replaced Vista business with a copy of the full license of another edition then you are able to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine, but only on the same computer. You must use the product key from COA to the label on the computer. The product key is put in the copy OEM cannot find the SLIC table on the host motherboard. You must use the phone activation from within the virtual machine. Click on start in Vista Business and typing "slui 4. Do not meet the audio guests until it asks you if you want to speak to an agent. Explain that you have completely replaced the OEM copy with a copy of the full license of the new windows and now want to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine on the same computer. Agent will then give you the activation string. Remember that the virtual machine is not transferable to any other computer.

I'm having a problem with my computer toshiba M645. When I insert my recovery disk its Blanck, but if I used the same disc in another computer I can see the contents inside. I try inserting the disk dvd movies and it will play normally. Please give me help with this problem because I want to get my phone to the sound out of the box state. Thank you.

    Hello

The drive came with the laptop or you did it yourself in the recovery Partition?

And you're supposed to boot from the recovery disc to start the recovery process.

You change the Boot order to make the CD/DVD drive first in the boot order. Then, you start from the disc.

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

And as a way to re - install with most of the Toshibas, you press 0 (zero) to start to start the process of recovery back to settings factory (new State) of the recovery Partition.

How do you install the creative cloud on several computers using the same license?

Installation on multiple computers can be done independently of the subscription.  You only need the lic3ense when it comes to activation, you have two active facilities (signed in).  Just install the desktop application and use it to install the applications, and then connect to activate.

  • Is it possible under the EULA to have several virtual machines on a single physical hard disk while using the same OS license or do I need a separate license for each virtual computer?

I have several programs that are not compatible with my 64 bit Windows 7 operating system.  I would like to run each different software under another virtual machine of VMWare (5 packs of different software programs and 5 different virtual machines of Windows XP).  These would all be installed on your laptop.  I can use the same license of Windows XP for each virtual machine, or do I need a separate XP license for each (different XP in case 5 licenses)?

It is lifted directly from my EULA:

    1. GRANT OF LICENSE.
The manufacturer that you grant the following rights, provided that
comply you with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1 installation and use.  You may install, use, access,
display and run one copy of the SOFTWARE on
THE COMPUTER.  The SOFTWARE may not be used
by more than two 2-processor both on the
COMPUTER, unless a greater number is
indicated on the certificate of authenticity.
    Then...
This means that as long as you are running two or more instances of XP at the same TIME, you agree? Or does this mean that, after you install once, you have reached your limit?
I imagine that most people (including those who are running Microsoft!) will say that the second interpretation is correct.
    However...
If this is the case, anyone their hard drive as a backup to clone strategy would violate the EULA!
  • Can I install 2 copies of Windows 7 on the same PC in a dual-boot configuration (using the same license key)?

I just bought Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack, with 3 upgrade licenses.

I update my 3 PCs at the House Windows XP to Windows 7.

I double on 2 of these PCs, boot Windows XP (for me, one for my wife) on different partitions. the two Windows installs fine activated using the same license (probably because they are on the same physical computer with the same hardware, and only 1 instance of Windows XP can be used at a time).

I like to create 2 different partitions, and install Windows on each and choose the one that start when I boot. It worked well in Windows XP. Can I do this with my new Windows 7 Family Pack?

My final configuration would have 1 PC with 1 partition and a new update to Win 7; and 2 PCs each dual-boot using the other 2 licenses.

Please calm down, the question is not so complicated (if you read the operating instructions / first license agreements).

    (1) If you want to cancel an upgrade and return to your old system under license (XP), you can do it. You can not use XP anymore, If you upgrade. But if you come back that the State of origin, you will have the same license as before.

    (2) with your Family Pack, you can spend 3 PC to Windows 7. 3 upgrade licenses = 3 licenses to upgrade. It's an interesting idea to use it to "5 installed on different partitions 5" because two of them are "on the same physical PC." However, you should know the rule "1 license is 1 pc." You use not here too artificial.
