upgrade to windows install home premium 8 pro 7 as I go from 32 bit to 64 bit, I know I have to do a clean, if using the windows easy transfer utility can I transfer the files from the windows machine 7 on a 16 GB flash instead of a separate hard disk drive.

As long as you have 16 GB or less data to transfer, yes you can.

Good luck.

  • Windows Easy Transfer can only transfer files

I created an easy transfer file in my previous installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. After formatting and installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit even once, I got the following error:

"Windows Easy Transfer can only transfer files

Your easy transfer file was created on a computer that is running a different language than this computer. Windows Easy Transfer only transfers files between computers with different languages. Settings will not be transferred. »

The problem is that the two facilities were in English...

-What can I do to solve this problem or my parameters are irretrievably lost?

You can see your language here: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CMF\SqmData\BootLanguages. Are the same in the two versions of Windows?

  • I get the error message "there was an error of analysis of the data on your system" when you try to use Windows Easy Transfer

Original title: there was an error of analysis of the data on your system

I get this error when trying to use Windows Easy Transfer to prepare to move from an XP PC to a Windows 7 PC. It passes through the part of the selection on where I later import files then says he is scanning the disc and fails with the above error.

In the search for this error, I found information of 2007 could be be a nero problem AVI.  I don't have Nero installed and I can't find the log files in the directory MIGWIZ.

It is a small (50 GB) HD who do not have much space available on it (I'm not in front of it now).  Is there a minimum amount of free space needed to run this executable? That is why it is a failure?

Could there be other issues behind this failure?
    Thanks in advance

  • Loss of historical emails using Windows Easy Transfer

Was previously running Windows XP with Office 2010, including Outlook 2010. Want to upgrade to Office 2013 which does not work on Windows XP so decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Home premium.  Following the instructions in Microsoft that I used Windows Easy Transfer to save all settings and data by following the instructions on an external hard drive. Has also created a copy of My Documents just to be safe. Following the instructions I installed Windows 7, reinstalled the data and settings from the Windows download file is then installed Office 2013.

All data files appear to be present and my contacts were all in Outlook 2013 however no historical emails were present. I had a lot of stored in subfolders under Inbox and sent messages and everything disappeared.

It seems strange that all contacts were copied and transferred across using Windows Easy Transfer, but not historical emails. There is no specific reference to this problem in Microsoft "upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7 instruction set.

Is it true that the files containing the e-mails were copied, but Outlook 2013 is looking for them in a different place, or does Windows Easy Transfer copy not the Inbox and sent to the files that would be a huge gap?

Windows Easy Transfer is not good to backup Outlook emails at all.

If you did a custom installation, check if the Windows.old folder to the root of the hard disk to see if your. PST file is there and copy it to your Documents folder in Windows 7.

Save the folder outlook located under:

    C:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\Account_Name\Local Settings\Microsoft\Outlook

When you migrate to Windows 7, and then reinstall Microsoft Office, just backup copy of the contents of the folder Outlook in the following location:

    C:\Users\Account_Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\

  • Instructions for using Windows Easy Transfer from Vista computer to a new Windows 7 computer.

I bought a new computer today that works under Windows 7. The old computer is running Windows Vista 32 bi my new computer is a 64-bit Windows 7 computer. So dumb I didn't find instructions for using Windows Easy Transfer to transfer my files from the old computer to the new. I already have a USB data transfer cable and the disk that came with it does not work with Win 7 However with Windows Easy Transfer that wouldn't do not necessary anyway. So my need for Instructions bo accomplich the task.

I gathered al records original program that I need to install the necessary programs on the new computer.

Any help or URL available covering my needs transfer will be much appreciated.

Remails a question. My venus of cable data transfer with a disc Intelemover with Windows Easy Transfer is that the disc is no longer necessary with WET?

It has nothing to do with Windows Easy Transfer (Intellimover that is).

You can probably use the cable - if you wish.  I prefer to use a large external USB drive or share network - this way, that I have a copy of all that I could move to multiple computers or almost as a backup at low cost.

  • Using Windows Easy Transfer

    Hell0,

Simply, it copies the files. WET don't delete anything out of the old computer.

  • I want to use Windows Easy Transfer XP to my data, but the software said "computers are old computer."

I want to use Windows Easy Transfer XP to my data, but the software said that "the two computers are old computer", how do I chanage the parameter in the new computer? In addition, two computers are running in Windows XP system, thank you.

Thanks for answer you, it is really useful.

    But I have another question:
Why Windows Easy Transfer is still a Windows XP version?

    Thank you.

Because Windows Easy Transfer is designed to transfer data FROM a Windows XP computer TO Windows 7 (or Vista) computer.

For example, you install Windows Easy Transfer on the computer Windows XP, but the output (if it is stored on external media or transmitted over a network connection or cable Easy Transfer) is used by the Vista or Windows 7 computer.

  • Desperate using Windows Easy Transfer (WET)

I tried for two days to use Easy Transfer to migrate files on my old computer (Vista) to my new computer (Win7).  Using the WET Migration Wizard process, I copied Windows Easy Transfer several times on a flash drive and subsequently downloaded to the old computer.  Said Assistant click the shortcut to transfer files (on the old computer) to get the WET key.  Once again, I did this several times, but have never had no answer except a half a second box that is gone before I can read what is said.  I have only one monitor and am using an easy transfer cable to see what files are on both computers.  So far, using the easy transfer cable has got me nowhere as much as it has announced to its use (file transfer) is concerned.  Ideas for this end-user desperate dilemma?

Have you created a. MIG file that you saved on a device of external storage or you tried with the easy transfer cable.

Your transfer is similar to the following article?

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/13/WinXP-to-Win7/

References to Windows XP, but the same principles should work too for Vista.

  • Transfer of internet bookmarks using Windows Easy Transfer

I have used several easy Windows to transfer my files from Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Premium.  Everything seemed to transfer all rights except my internet Favorites.  Does anyone have a solution for this?  Thank you.

Open your Firefox bookmarks, display all bookmarks and click on the "import and backup" function: it proposes "export" and "import".  Export your stuff on the XP box and import it on the Windows 7 computer.

  • Downgrade Windows 7 Ultimate, professional, using Windows Easy Transfer

I installed Windows 7 Professional and I have the file transfer of files with me. My Win7 Ultimate was SP1 and I just installed the basic version of Pro. Should I wait for Windows Update to get SP1 until I leave Easy Transfer. I was worried that some applications might have dependencies with SP1 or something.

Also is it good so installing a bunch of software on my new pc and do the Easy Transfer.

    Thank you!

It does not matter if the system is Windows 7 RTM or Windwos 7 SP1, Windows Easy Transfer won't work anyway. Please note that if you change your architecture if Windows Easy Transfer will not work. Easy transfer is only compatible to the front.
